Lake Elmo Inn

Established in 1881, the Lake Elmo Inn has served countless meals in its 129 years. Present owner John Schiltz has been a part of that tradition since 1983.
With a reputation for great food, service & charm, the Lake Elmo Inn has won many awards: Best Brunch in the Twin Cities for the past 21 years in a row, Top 10 Restaurant, Favorite Special Occasion and awards for our desserts, wine list, & service as well.
'Being an independent restaurant, we have to do a better job," says Chef Schiltz, "or we will get rolled over by the chains."
There is a lot of history within the Inn. Many great collections: salt & pepper shakers - 3000+ sets, crystal decanters & vases, carved ducks & no one decorates like the Inn at Christmas. It's worth the drive just to see it. 124 Nutcrackers and over 60 snow globes, thousands of ornaments... just to name a few.
Just 12 miles from downtown St. Paul & 25 miles from downtown Minneapolis the Inn is a perfect day or evening destination.
