Bastide is proud to present a new chef, Paul Shoemaker, who brings exciting changes to Los Angeles' most provocative restaurant. Asked to explain his cuisine, Chef says simply, 'seriously playful.' Feeling that traditional tasting menus are too limiting, Chef has introduced an a la carte menu that has all the surprise of Bastide's famous tasting menus. Guests can now choose to sample Shoemaker's exuberant blendings of flavor, texture and color from either menu. These selections are accompanied by the option of creative wine pairings from Bastide's new world wide wine cellar. Bastide, 8475 Melrose Place, is open for dinner from Tuesday through Friday from six to ten, and Saturday from six to ten thirty. Valet parking is complimentary. Reservations, (323) 651-5950.
