Casa De Bravos Mexican Restaurant

MY REVIEW: Updated!
We went back today for dinner and now I have not downgraded my opinion. Here's the new info.
House margaritas as tasty (100% agave tequila, thank you very much), fairly strong, and <$5 full price. They also have fruit and premium margaritas, and advertise happy hour every day.
I thought the queso was outstaning- it is definitely a cheese bechemel sauce rather than melted cheese product. My husband agreed it was high quality, but the peppers came on the side instead of in the queso, and for whatever reason that doesn't trigger his queso craving.
I had a more traditional plate this time- not disappointed! The chicken taco was straight up chicken rolled in a tortilla, but given the quality of the tortilla an chicken, no complaints. The tamale was good, but I probably wouldn't crave it. The chicken enchiladas were fantastic- definitely will be back for more.
The son had the cheese quesadilla, and it was a very large amount of food for the price. He's under 2, and he had about 1/4- plenty for leftovers. The husband had fajitas again, and they were just as good the second time. The tortillas were maybe even better, and we picked up a half dozen to take home.

MY REVIEW: We went in because I had a birthday coupon for a free 1/2 pound of combination fajitas with any purchase. I'm not quite sure of the story- everywhere online there are no reviews for "Casa de Bravos" but "Bravos" has been in business for a while? Is it new management or an internal reboot- no idea!
In any case, we did not go in with very high expectations, and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken was cooked to just done- moist and juicy and the beef was also tender (the seasoning isn't as distinct as some places, but a lot is forgiven for perfectly cooked meat). The guacamole and pico was good, although the pico was quite mild. The red salsa was a bit mild but flavorful. The chips were perfect. The flour tortillas- oh my, the tortillas. They are definitely hand made- they come out hot and not even close to round because they have been hand rolled. I have made my own tortillas and these were better!
I had a bit of my son's tostada. The beef was well seasoned, but given the quality of the fajitas and how easy it is to do seasoned ground beef at home, I'll stick to the "real meat" in the future.
The price was actually fantastic. Had we not had the coupon, two teas, the fajitas, quacamole fresca, and a kid's meal would have come out to $22. The kid's meal is especially great value with several meals running around $3. I will have to go back to try the more traditional tex-mex fair (enchiladas and whatnot and of course margaritas), but based on what I've seen this a great spot for non-upscale Tex Mex at a good price.
