MY REVIEW: The setting dates from simple L*atina Cafe days, with updated nice feel and ambiance; seating cramped given the small space though this added a little charm. The room temperature was uncomfortable (felt like a visit to a rural cousin's house that you can't wait to leave in order to turn on the AC in the car while driving quickly away) making the evening less than enjoyable--this alone would rule out my return--hopeful this was an aberration of AC functionality and not standard practice?

Limited menu items, per design. Ordered the bread offering($6.00) which was fresh, hot, and terrific, accompanied with choice of two butter spreads; roasted cauliflower was tasty; ordered the salad which never arrived (was not charged so probably just waiter error); drum fish special which was mediocre and unfortunately not equal to the price of $28.00; vegetable enchilada's ($18.00) were creative and offered without accompaniment. The wine offerings were < mediocre, unfortunately. Ordered the one Malbec on the list offered by the glass ($6.00) and it was not good--had I been at home, I would have poured the glass down the sink without hesitation.

Service was slow and inattentive (this was exacerbated by the warm room temperature), though waiter was pleasant. It seemed like an eternity waiting to get the bill to leave and turn the car AC to Max!

Bottom line: $76.00 w/ tip for two and a mediocre evening. Nice to try though would not return. If the room temperature was pleasant and wine selection decent, would have made for a more enjoyable evening. Grades: Food = C; Service = C; Wine (my selection) = F; creativity = A. Overall, C-.

MY REVIEW: awesome place with a cozy feel and great prices. i live a block away and went with my girlfriend the first night, liked it so much that we came back with friends 2 nights later. the owner is a nice guy and seems to be running the place pretty smoothly. i'm hoping they don't get killed with a line like they did on thursday, we want our table haha. can't beat the quality of food and service and we can't wait to be back
