MY REVIEW: My cousin and I though we would have a "Girlz Day" considering we haven't had our usual "Girlz Nite" in awhile. We wanted to take our mothers and our aunts to lunch during the Holidays to try something new, fresh and highly recommended. My husband was driving alongside Resie's catering van and after reading the details thought we should give this place a try. After reading a few reviews we decided that Resie's it would be.
Our party of five was kindly greeted by the security staff at the front entrance and also our waiter who kindly serviced us through-out our dining experience. I was very well pleased by the "lite after lunch" ambiance. We all decided on the wings and waffles, a variety of appetizers to share and since it was half price "Happy Hour" some of us also ordered Margaritas. Three out of the five of us share some of the cooking in our family and needless-to-say we were highly impressed and appreciative of all of our selections. The wings were very nice size wings and seasoned to the bone. The waffle portion was also very well portioned and note these are "Texas Size" portions w/ plenty to take home. The fried pickles and quesadillas also get two thumbs up! We all felt we got every bit of our monies worth and we're looking forward to our next visit to Resie's!!!

MY REVIEW: It's all about the Wings at Resies Chicken and Waffles. They serve the best fried chicken this side of heaven. It's hot and fresh, seasoned to perfection and guess what, you actually get the whole wing (4 Jumbo sized ones) I might add. Most other wing and waffle places I've been to in Houson give you small drummettes. They have a variety of assorted waffle Flavors and their Margaritas to Go are delicious. If you've tried other places do yourself a favor and try Resie's. I bet you'll be back time and time again !!!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Today was my first time at Resie's Chicken and Waffles and I thought it was GREAT. The atmosphere, something I've never experienced. The staff , courteous and friendly. Jumbo sized chicken wings, savory sides, and then I had a Caramel Macchiato that would rival S*tarbucks!!!!!! Houston we have a Winner!!!!!

MY REVIEW: A friend read about Resie's so I drove all the way from Lake Conroe to join her for lunch yesterday (although I was very leary just from the food combination in the name). Anyway, now I can't stop talking about it! We went after the lunch crowd, got seated immediately, had a great waitress, and the best part, to my surprise, was the food. Our table was not big enough to hold all the food they brought us and neither was my stomach. It was AWESOME to say the least, and we took home enough for two more meals. The portions are so large that we decided that next time we will split an order...and yes, there will definitely be a next time...and very soon!

MY REVIEW: I am a chicken and waffle fan and did not think I could find a replacement for my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles; however, a co-worker told me to search chicken and waffles in Houston to find a restaurant. When I did, I found Resie's Chicken and Waffle, and I am glad I did.
The restaurant is stylish and very clean. The food was freshly prepared and served by a friendly waitress. We ordered the chicken wings and waffles with a side of grits. The wings were seasoned to protection and served steaming hot. The waffles were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The grits brought back memories of growing up in the south; they were delish. You could tell that providing great customer service, has been engrained in the employees. We loved everything about this restaurant and can’t wait to go again.

MY REVIEW: First time customer of Resie's Chicken and Waffles Restaurant. I saw their van parked in the parking lot of the shopping center where Resie's is located so I thought I'd drop in and grab a quick bite. Walking through the door, I was shocked at how nice the restaurant is compared to most soul food restaurants I've been in.
I was expecting to walk thru a line with food on a steam table, grab my food quickly and go. However, Resie's is a slightly upscale environment with a Mahogany wood bar, in front of a stone wall that has a small window to reveal their chefs cooking chicken and waffles in the back. It's a sit down table service establishment where the waitstaff are all dressed in black ready to take your order. Soul Concerts play on the overhead Flatscreen TV systems.
I ordered the Chicken and Waffles with red beans and rice. It was simply delish! The wings were fried to a crisp golden brown, hot as the dickens and the perfect compliment to my sweet thick waffle. I ended up spending more time than anticipated but who doesn't love to watch a good show in an relaxing atmosphere. I'm definitely going back. Im planning to take my entire family before the Holidays!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: Wow, my family and I went to Resie's first time on Monday afternoon and when we opened the door we were greeted by smiling faces. We felt so at home and the food OMG....The waffle was sooooo good, chicken was hot and well seasoned. The restaurant is so pretty, the ambiance is perfect. We are going back again and again. The desserts homemade, I am a baker and I know. Houston needs a place like this.

MY REVIEW: Hey Houston. I reviewed the previous customers reviews of Resies Chicken and Waffles Restaurant both before visiting this small eatery that I had heard so much about and also before visiting. what I don't understand is how a customer could praise the food saying it was good all the while complaining about small portions and the service. Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, however I visited Resies Chicken and Waffles this past Saturday as well and had the exact opposite experience of CXJ. Although, I had a similar wait, I went in with the understanding that Resies was not a restaurant that serves your typical "fried wing dinner". It is not a fast food restaurant. It is an upscale souldfood eatery that doesnt serve breakfast, they serve lunch and dinner so depending on the time you get there you run the risk of it being packed by the time you do. In fact, as warned by our waiter before placing our order all of Resies Chicken was prepared "Fresh" and made to order. This was refreshing considering that most fried chicken restaurants especially fast food chains serve chicken that's been sitting under a heat lamp when you place your order. I don't know why one would say that the portions were too small. Resies Chicken and Waffles serves the biggest chicken wings I have ever seen!!!!Ever! And believe me after you eat a thick Belgium Style Waffle who even has the room to put any more food in their stomach. I think the portion sizes for the sides are fair. I'm glad to know perhaps that CXJ won't be coming back. That leaves one more table open for my family and other customers that can appreciate homemade southern style cuisine that "in my opinion " is worth every penny and certainly worth the wait, which by the way is no more longer than ony other Houston Restaurant that has a wait because they serve such good food.

MY REVIEW: Hello, we were first time visitors on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Our visit, not good! Placed our order waited and waited, approx. 45 minutes for a freaking fried wing dinner! We considered leaving, but were approached by a waiter who informed us that they were experiencing training issues. He offered to buy us dessert, we accept the peach cobbler. Can't pass up a good peach cobbler, so we decided to stay and at least try the food. Well, the order showed up. 4 hot, nicely sized wings were on the plate with 2 small sides and i do mean small. Well came time for the dessert, the peach cobbler, small portion is an understatement. In no way was it worthy of the $5.95 price tag. Thank God it was free. Food was good, however, here is the million dollar question: would i return, probably not and here's why; combination dinners are overpriced and the peach cobbler portion is certainly not worthy of a $5.95 price tag.

MY REVIEW: I went to Resie's Chicken and Waffles after a few of my co-workers came back from lunch with great big smiles on their faces. All of them had to go bags of the food they described as being way too much for them to finish in one lunch sitting. So I decided to give this restaurant a try. When I walked through the doors, I was astounded at how nice the inside was compared to the outside plaza that Resie's sits in.
I was immediately greeted by Resie herself and was surprised to see such a friendly restaurant owner given the crowd that they were serving. Resie's was PACKED and I am not exaggerating. Which instantly said to me these customers must be here because the food is good. Now I don't usually stick around during my lunch break when a place is this busy but I just had to see for myself what all the fuss was about. Let me just say Resie's chicken is EXCELLENT!!! And the waffles are SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!! Everything was hot and fresh when it came to the table and I didn't even mind waiting a little longer since their staff more than made sure I was happy by checking on me repeatedly and even letting me sample the
House special waffle of the day. I give them 2 Thumbs waaaaayyyyy up! I will definitely make Resie's my regular lunch place?

MY REVIEW: This should be on anybody's list of go to destinations in Houston. This is how I envisioned chicken and waffles tasting! The chicken wings are fried to a crispy golden brown with the right amount of seasonings. The waffles are also goden brown, crunchy on the outside and so ft and moist on the inside. All of the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our waiter was so attentive, the manager asked if there was anything he could do to make our our dinner even more enjoyable, and the chef came out and asked how we liked our food. Resie's C&Ws are at the top of my list!

MY REVIEW: Resie's Chicken and Waffles....in a word.....Amazing! I eat there almost everyday and each time I have come away completely satisfied by food and service. Stepping into Resie's you get the sense that the people there care about the quality of food they put out. It's like eating at grandma's house for Sunday dinner. They have a homemade German Chocolate Cake that will make you wanna slap the cook....it's just that good! Not to mention, I'm always mesmerized by the nostalgic concerts they play while I'm eating. I will continue to spend my money and eat at Resie's. Houston has been waiting on this!

MY REVIEW: I eat here all the time! Huge portions too. The waffles are the BEST in town.
My only complaint is that the gumbo serving size is way too small. Compared to the other portion sizes, this looks like an appetizer and it does not fill you up at all like everything else.
Otherwise, this place is awesome. Super friendly and aiming to please!!!!!

MY REVIEW: This is how chicken should be made.. So fresh, seasoning was perfect... The freshest best chicken I've eaten in Houston.. The waffles were really good as well.. Very nice decor... Greeted with a smile from everyone... Very friendly... I even saw a Bentley Flying Spur parked up front so don't think you are too good to go in.. I actually drove to New Orleans to try W*illie maes famous fried chicken twice.... Well lets just say I will not be making that trip any more.. Just found the best chicken in houston...
I will go back and try more off of their menu..
Only weak point I have is that the chicken and waffle meal that I got did not leave me full.. Well I guess that is a good thing.. But for $12.00 I was expecting to be full... Then again at least I am not all stuffed at work... so to be honest that really is a good thing.. But if you are a big eater like myself I suggest the Bo-ridley...

MY REVIEW: This is a great place to eat! So far I have worked my way down the menu. Everything is delicious! They have the best Chicken and Waffles. The #3 Fat Mack combo is hard to beat. They also have the best Mac n Cheese on the planet. I am a big guy so trust me I know! Do your taste buds a favor and try the Gumbo! I have been to all the places with the big names, none compare to the Gumbo they serve at Resie's. They only serve it on Friday but what a way to start the weekend. The manager and owners and wait staff really go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. I give it 5 stars.
