Mas Amigos

MY REVIEW: While this place is not going to be compared with any of your favorite Tex Mex joints, it's not a bad choice if you find yourself in Liberty and hungry for Mexican.

A group of about 12 in Liberty for a funeral converged upon Mas Amigos at lunch time. They were very accomadating by quickly opening a banquet room in the back. Service was spot on.

When I'm at a Mexican restaurant for the first time, I usually order the largest combination plate that offers the best variety of Tex Mex standards. The Cancun Grande platter is a good choice. Cheese enchiladas were ok, about average, as was the rice. Borracho beans were good, but refried were better. Taco al carbon lacked that deep, smokey flavor, but meat was tender. Best thing on the plate was a chicken enchilada in verde sauce. Some bragged on the chili con queso, but I didn't try it.
