Treehouse Mexican Baja Grill

MY REVIEW: Since this restaurant is the same owners as La F*inca, I'd love to give it a great review. Sadly, I cannot. I started going to this restaurant knowing it was under the same LaF*inca ownership. I keep going back expecting great things. I've been there about 5 or 6 times since they have opened. Most of the menu is the same as La F*inca. Chips and salsas are the same as La F*inca. Treehouse has more seafood type meals and markets itself as a "baja" type restaurant. I've only had one fish dish and hated it. The next time I went in I ordered another fish dish - they were out of it. I have even tried bean & Cheese nachos thinking - "no one can mess that up"...WRONG. So, now I stick to a chicken salad that they have which, I have to say, is very good.

If you are looking for service this place is NOT IT!! Unless, you get the manager to wait on you then it's excellent. Bottom line is I would not and do not "choose" to go to Treehouse. I only go to meet my Dad for dinner, who loves the place.

I keep waiting for Treehouse to get better. Honestly, I hope they do. The owners are a great bunch of people and I wish them every success. However, a little more attention to this restaurant could go a long way.

MY REVIEW: Reportedly owned by the same folks that own La Finca, Treehouse is a nice addition to the neighborhood.

The price points are fair, but the service is a real differentiator...attentive and courteous. The food is A-minus, B-plus, but portions are "share-able." Most importantly, the margaritas are strong and good; they'll customize 'em if you wish (we add Grand Gala).

Worth a try!

MY REVIEW: Two visits: Mid August and early Sept - Bottom line, it is OK. Above average chips and salsas with average fajitas (we've tried two different fajita platters). It's more than just a Tex-Mex restaurant and other menu items appear worth exploring (they have bottles of soy sauce on the table). The nights we went the service was excellent and the $2 margarita special on Thurs is a very good deal (above average margaritas for $2).

Finding average Tex-Mex in metro-Houston is easy (excellent is not so easy), so the many average restaurants need to find something to help them stand out from the crowd; perhaps the various nightly specials will be that for Treehouse?

Bottom line: average food w/ excellent service. We'll probably return and try other specials.

MY REVIEW: Food was adequate at best. I had the Chipoltle Enchiladas and there was zero Chipotle flavor, the beef was overcooked and merely small dark chunks with little flavor. My wife had soft tacos, one with the same beef and the other with overcooked chicken that looked like it was cooked hours ago. Salsa tasted a little burnt to me. Service was good but we will not be back. Sorry to see that Berry Hill was no longer there.

MY REVIEW: We've visited twice so far and the food and service has been great. Even my kids loved it (10 & 11 years). Had the fajitas, shrimp tacos, tilapia and enchilada. All the meals were prepared fresh and were nicely spiced. The margaritas are fabulous. Will visit again!

MY REVIEW: Menu was seafood centric. The shrimp with garlic, was very tasty. I would return and next time try the whole fish which they prepare a number of ways. The only negative was we had a new server that was not as trained as they should have been.

MY REVIEW: First visit and it was all great. The chips were fresh and the salsa was spicy. The egg rolls were awesome. The Poblano Chicken Fajitias were over the top with quantity, flavor and tenderness. We'll be back!!!

MY REVIEW: We are happy to have this restaurant in our neighborhood! We've eaten there 5 times now and have loved every meal we've had. The prices are great, good size food portions and all the staff is very attentive and friendly! We hope everyone visits them and that this one stays in Villagio for a long time!
