MY REVIEW: I attempted to eat here for my best friend's birthday. Upon entering, the ambiance was nice and the bartenders served me right away. Once the rest of the guests arrived, we were seated at a table where we ordered drinks, and our server took our orders. We had to share menus since the server didn't offer each of us a menu, and he seemed annoyed when we asked for more menus. He never checked on our table, and when he finally returned, he asked us if we were ready to order. We all sat puzzled because he had just taken our order 20 minutes earlier! He did not put our food order in, and his excuse was that he was waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. However, we told him to put all of our orders in immediately and that we were not waiting for others to arrive before we order and eat.
We asked to speak with the manager and decided not to order any food at all. The owner came to our table, and we explained the situation. He was very rude, and he never apologized for the incident! As the birthday girl was expressing to him how disappointed we all were, the owner told her that she was being disrespectful and walked off! He then told the hostess to handle the situation! Completely unprofessional! So, we wasted an hour and a half and didn't get to eat anything. Plus the server told us that the margarita machine was broken,
This restaurant ruined my best friend's birthday, and we had to go elsewhere to find something to eat at 9:00 at night. I will definitely never try this restaurant again, and I do not recommend that anyone go there, ever! Poor service and overpriced menu!

MY REVIEW: Lovely place to eat, beautiful mayan decor, great spanish and contemporary music, and a great view of the lakeway and walk. We did the weekend brunch, with tons of choices. I do not care for mole, and spicy tamales,( my husband loved them) but the made-to-order guacamole with mango and habanero; the Shrimp cocktail with optional chimichurri dressing; the perfectly smoked beef fajita meat; and the hand-breaded coconut shrimp were plenty for me to be satisfied. Do not miss the tres leches, I am sure it had coconut milk in it, delicious. EXCELLENT, ATTENTIVE, and FRIENDLY wait staff! We will be back, and we did not even mind driving clear across town.

MY REVIEW: Super over-priced nasty food says it all. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the decor and the view of the water. Let's start with Margaritas, they only have "on the rocks" which are $5 during HH; can only imagine the regular price. Never heard of a Mexican restaurant in Texas that doesn't serve frozen Margaritas. As for the food, it was horrible. Fish tacos had about an ounce of fish and a cup of cabbage sprinkled with sweetened vinegar. Shrimp tacos had a few shrimp tossed with a teaspoon of avocado and salsa. Fish and shrimp was supposed to be grilled but seemd to have come straight out of the freezer and then steamed. The corn tortillas on the tacos were cold and seemed to be straight out of the package. Spinach enchildas were corn tortillas stuffed with cooked spinach, no cheese. and covered with mole sauce. Only 1 of these was eaten. The best food items were the salsa, chips, and the refried black beans. Rice was ok but on the dry side.
Maybe they think they're like H*ugo's but they are sadly mistaken. If you want exquisite Latin food, go to H*ugo's. If you want Mexican food in the Sugar Land area, you're better off at B*erry Hill's, El V*aquero, Los G*allitos, or even P*appasito's (which I'm not fond of) where you can get 100% better food and drinks for much less money.

MY REVIEW: We have eaten at Diego's several times and have had excellent food, drinks, and service nearly every time. The mixed grill and lamb chops are outstanding. On our most recent visit, unfortunately, the chips were stale, but that's the only time that has happened. The salsa is warm and flavorful without being overly incendiary. Interesting and tasty cocktails; try a Pink Paloma or a glass of sangria. We usually go fairly early in the evening; I have the feeling this is more of a late-night place, but haven't stayed out late enough to check that out! This is a fine and sophisticated addition to Sugar Land's restaurant scene.

MY REVIEW: First impresion is that it's a pretty place with nice atmosphere and pricey food. Two friends and I sat at the bar and had various margaritas and sangria to start. They were okay, but definitely not the best I've ever had. The chips were very greasy so we ordered crab nachos to start. The cheese wasn't melted, there was hardly any crab, and the chips were even greasier than the ones we were avoiding. I ordered shrimp ceviche as my meal since I wasn't very hungry. The "ceviche" was tiny, boiled, frozen shrimp covered in onions and fresh jalapenos, that's all. It was definitely overpriced at $14. One of my friends had the Enchiladas Mexicanas which were supposed to be in a mole sauce, however the sauce was just bitter and burnt. When we told the bartender that she didn't like it he smiled and said "Sorry about that". The bartender didn't tell the manager and she paid for a meal that she took two bites out of. The black beans have chocolate in them and the rice was horribly overcooked. All in all it was a nasty, expensive dinner and I will NOT be going back. If you're into syle without substance...you'll love this place, but if you want good food AND atmosphere, avoid it.

MY REVIEW: Pro: beautiful decor and view of lake. Savory beans & rice, recipe not the usual.
Con: stale chips and very loud music, while still eating waitress asked if we wanted a 'to go box' followed immediately by bringing check to our table.
