Cafe India

MY REVIEW: It is small...and most people might miss it...or not feel it is worth a try. SO SAD. I have been eating Indian food for 10 years now and for the price, and the convienece right in Jersey Village area it is by far the best so far. Saag Peener, Chicken tikka marsala Dahl, Alou Gobi, naan.....It's as good as the Home Cooking my Indian friends bring to work to share. LOVE IT.

MY REVIEW: Craving indian and found this quaint little place in my neighborhood for dinner... Amazinnng food. So glad we happened to see the sign for it. Apparently they changed management again... The whole place is redone, paint, decor, etc. We went in a group of four, so ordered the saag paneer, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, rice and naan. Hit the spot.. Will definetly be telling people about this place- especially since its so close to our area.

MY REVIEW: We just returned from having chicken tikka masala at this little cafe. I'm addicted to their food! We had another chicken dish recently that had a nutty white sauce (don't remember the name)...fabulous as well. Everything we've tried there has been outstanding. Food is not too spicy but they will add more spice if requested.

MY REVIEW: I can't believe I live right around the corner and didn't know about this place, but am glad I do now. We had a takeout order of vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, vegetable curry and saag paneer (all with rice of course). We also had naan. Everything was very nice, although the saag paneer was a little bit salty at first taste but didn't seem so by the time we were through! All of it was very good, certainly not earth-shatteringly fabulous good, but it was a nice takeout curry similar to what we used to get in England. I wish they would post their menu online. The only odd point was the hostess, who seemed a little dippy and wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box. We will return!

MY REVIEW: The place has changed managers. We went for the lunch buffet at 2PM. There was almost no food. That is not unusual at Indian buffets but they usually bring some out. We each got a little rice & sagg panner, chicken tika masala, an some type of roll (which was quite good). There was no goat curry. There was a pan that held what was likely chicken tika (grilled) but it was empty.) I asked about goat. "None today" I still assumed more food would be brought out. We sat down and eerything was COLD. "We serve the buffet until 2:30 (sign in window says 3) & we turn off the haet at 2" We got there at 2 and the food was COLD. He did bring out naan & rice & reheated the saag panneer & some chicken tika masals. The reheated sagg panneer was very good as was the naan & rice. He also brought out an okra dish that I liked. The reheated chicken masala tasted like rewarmed leftovers. Nothing else was made available except rice pudding & another desert. I believe the cook remains, He is good, but he can only work with what is available & do as the owner asks. We won't be back. This place WAS fantastic. We were told that the partners did not get along. If anyone knows where the prior manager might be running a resturant, please post it.

MY REVIEW: Well well well ! Amazing food! We stopped by here for family dinner. The food is delicious and Fish Pakora was amazing. We have been to some Indian restaurant around downtown snd rice village including K*iran's, but food like here is nowhere can be found. Amazing Naan, the waiter even ask us to try Bullet Naan which was amazingly spicy and delicious. I recommend to visit once. I am certainly coming back to Cafe india Again.

MY REVIEW: We ate at the ($8.99) lunch buffett today. Not one weak point. Great Food, everything we tried was fantastic. Tandoori, goat curry, chicken tiki masala were fantastic as were the vegetable items. The naan was great & came in two types. I judge an Indian resturant by the sagg panneer. Best ever. I've eaten in a good number of Indian resturants and this is the best yet. The buffett is mild to medium +. The owner said at night the food is hotter because of the cliental, but he can tone down any dish. We live near & will be back.

MY REVIEW: So glad I found this place--it's right by my house. It's hard to find really good Indian food outside the loop. This place was excellent. The place itself is nothing fancy, but the food is very fresh and full of flavor. The food came out very hot. I ate everything within arms length. Highly recommend this place. I plan on making it a frequent stop. Seriously, I've paid much more inside the loop for Indian food that was not this good.

MY REVIEW: Went for the lunch buffet yesterday. The food was all fresh. About 15 items on the buffet. You also get naan bread hot and fresh with the buffet. The food was very tasty. It is also not real spicy as most Indian restaurants tend to be, so if light spice is your bag, you'll like this one. Excellent food. Will definitely be going again soon.

MY REVIEW: Just ate lunch here for the first time. New place. About a 12 - 14 item buffet for lunch, for $7.95. Everything was fresh and they ask if you want garlic or non-garlic naan. I'd like everything I tried. I'll definetly will be back.

MY REVIEW: We've only had the lunch buffett ($7.99) a few times and it's not bad for the price. Limited selection and could afford to make the dishes a little more spicy. Overall, it isn't the worst or best indian food in town but it'll do.
