MY REVIEW: I have driven past this place a few times with the intention to check it out, and was finally able to do so this evening. I went just before closing on a Sunday evening and we were greeted with a lot of hospitality and warmth despite our inconvenient choice in timing.

I ordered 2 short rib tacos and 1 beef taco. My partner ordered the beef/short rib sizzling plate. We also started with an order of fried potstickers. ALL of our food was very tasty and the service was quick. We waited for about 10 minutes by the time all of the food arrived to the table. There is just something spectacular about korean bbq inside of a corn tortilla.

I will be back to this place many times in the future! I highly recommend this place if you live/work/party in the area. Great food, friendly staff, prompt service... a hidden gem.

MY REVIEW: As Korean as you're going to find in the Greenway area, and that doesn't say much.

Small eatery in a busy strip mall (read: horrible parking) across from Costco. Clean interior looks like an ice cream stand. Americanized (like Y*oshinoya) setup with just a few Korean entrees of marinated meats, some vegetables and rice that you order at the counter and they deliver to your table with 'kimchi' condiment instead of a salad bar.

My 'bibimbap' (rice dish) was heavy on the meat, light on the vegetables -- quite the opposite from what you'd get in the usual Korean restaurant. Had to ask for the 'kochujang' (red papper paste) that you use to spice up the dish to taste, but there was plenty of Sriracha.

Overall, a disappointment. I'll drive a little further to my usual places in Bellaire or Spring Branch.

MY REVIEW: I have visited Kobecue twice now during lunch. They are still in their early days so I understand that the service will be a bit slow, but I hope they can start moving quicker soon.

Both times, I had the beef rice bowl. The beef is really tasty, and the bowl also comes with vegetables. I also had a spicy pork taco each visit. On the first visit, the taco was really great. The tortilla was nicely grilled and warm, and there was plenty of filling. I was disappointed on my second visit- the taco was not as full, and the tortilla was cold and fell apart. It was much busier my second time around, so I hope this was only a product of being overwhelmed.

I will probably be back because I work in the area, and there are no other options like this. If the service/length of wait time does not improve, then I will not continue to eat here.
