MY REVIEW: It was a good dining experience especially for a P*appas frequenter. I had the beef ribs and I wish I could see into the kitchen. The cooking method produced very good beef and the sauce was the most unique I have had in a while. Will be back to try more of their menu in the near future and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a new barbecue experience.

MY REVIEW: OK. I went back for the pork loin, stuffed with boudin. My dining partner got the smoked turkey. We got the heart attack potato salad, garlic green beans, mac & cheese & fried okra for sides. They were all excellent! Their success with the boudin stuffing really makes me wonder why they get dirty rice so wrong. Just take the boudin stuffing & put it in a ramekin. Poof! Dirty rice!. Everything else is rather glorious, though.

MY REVIEW: Surprisingly good bbq! I'm from Kansas City where we use hickory and oak woods to smoke our meats. I tried the dry rub ribs and jalapeno sausage along with the heart attack potatoes: everything was delicious! I even tried their sauce which wasn't half bad (I'm very partial to GATES sauce back home!). Great service, felt welcomed. Will be back to STOCKYARD soon!

MY REVIEW: The ribs were amazing & tender, as everyone else says. I got the dry & spicy.
I noticed no one else tried the dirty rice, apparently. They didn't mention it. Don't bother. They don't have dirty rice. I knew that, b4 I ordered it---just from looking---lots of tomato. I needed to confirm. It's basically Mexican rice, which I don't understand, since dierty rice, is really just boudin filling---& they have boudin-stuffed pork loin. I'm going to have to try that, next time. I don't know why most BBQ places, here, feel compelled to offer dirty rice, in the first place, but then, usually, do a bad job of it. Pa**as BBQ comes the closest, so far, but theirs is still more like jambalaya.
I'll eat their ribs anytime, though. I want to try their heart attack potato salad.

MY REVIEW: I just love this place. Tried the boudin stuffed pork loin today and it was fork tender. Saw them slicing the turkey and want to try it also. The pork ribs are out of this world. The food here is so much better than other BBQ places in Houston. The variety is great also and love their spicy sauce which compliments the meat but the meat can stand on it's own also.

MY REVIEW: Went today for the first time. Got the 3 meat plate with the brisket, wet ribs and the Pork loan stuffed with boudain!! Also came with 3 sides bean, heart attack potatoes and coleslaw. It was AMAZING!! Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had. This plate was enough for my boyfriend and I to split, so at $16 not a bad value! The ribs literally melt in your mouth. The pork loan is better than I thought it could be and brisket was just great!! They also keep an original and a spicy version of their BBQ sauce on every table!! The BBQ sauce is amazing! ... Amazing is the only word I can think of to describe this place!
We will be returning often! Deffinitly want them to stick around for a very long time. Go try it, you will be very glad you did!!

MY REVIEW: New BBQ restaurant at Hillcroft/Voss and Westheimer. I visited the place twice together with my wife. In both visits the quality, price and service exceeded our expectations. Last time we ordered half chicken with two sides and brisket with two sides. The price was right at 8.99 each order. The food was delicious and healthy. The place was very clean with a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Simply, the best ribs EVER! I am a huge BBQ fan, and I have always had a hankering to drive to Lockhart Texas to try either B*lack's or K*reuz Market BBQ, but no longer, we now have what I consider to be the best BBQ and Ribs in Houston, if not the State of Texas. When I saw a new BBQ joint was opening I figured it was going to be another run of the mill place, but BOY was I WRONG...I had the one meat special for $8.99 and it came with 2/3 of a rack of ribs and two excellent sides, with the tastiest home made bread around. I could almost hear Roy Rogers and Dale Evans singing Happy Trails to you as I wiped the spicy sauce from my lips. The owner is a guy out of Needville Texas, he knows how to make great BBQ and treat his customers right. Stopping by each table, thanking the patrons and even personally filling drinks for you, is something you just don't see very often any more. So the next time your hankering for some good Q, check out Stockyards, you will be glad you did.

MY REVIEW: Finally a great bbq place in the Galleria area! The brisket was tender and the sauce is awesome! I always get my bbq to go and they put the sides in containers that way the juices don't run (call me OCD)! The green beans were crispy but not too limp. Potato salad could use less mayo. Tasted my sisters dirty rice was tasty with bits of brisket. Will definitely be a keeper!

MY REVIEW: It’s not every day that I write about the restaurants I go to, but I was really impressed with Stockyard BBQ. The quality of the meat and the flavor was really the best I’ve had in a long time, it’s the BBQ place I’ve been searching for in Houston. Both the brisket and the dry rub ribs were delicious, even without the sauce but they had both regular and spicy sauce there that was good – vinegar and sweet, without being too vinegary or too sweet. The potato sides were good, too. We ate both the brownie dessert and the blackberry cobbler with ice cream, both homemade and yummy. The turkey was amazing, and I really don’t even like turkey. It’s a clean, family style restaurant with a great outdoor porch. I couldn’t believe how much food you got for such a reasonable price, either. The owner came over to tell us how he harvested pecan trees that were damaged during hurricane Ike to use in the BBQ pit. It’s going to be a local favorite!

MY REVIEW: We went on opening day. The place had valet, due to limited parking, which can be hit or miss depending on how crowded the place is. You have a choice between sweet and wet ribs, or dry and spicy ribs. I tried both, and heavily recommend the dry and spicy. They were heavily smoked, cook-off style, and may have been the best I've had in Houston. The turkey was hugely popular in my group, and the brisket was above average as well.
You'll find a lot of side options, the best being a cheesy/roasted potato type casserole that was outstanding. They have they limp, soggy fries with the skin still on it, which some loved and some didn't. The mac and cheese was average. The bread was fantastic, similar to a jalapeno cheese bread. One meat plates 8.99, 2 meat plates 12.99. Sandwiches and baked potatoes on the menu as well, standard prices.
We will go back often. Great first day for these guys, as food quality will always stand out when you are working out the restaurant kinks.
