MY REVIEW: This was third visit to 7 Rivers. The BBQ was very good as usual as well as the potato salad. My personal favorite is the smoked turkey breast. This place on my list of favorites. It's also one of the few places my kids will eat at.

MY REVIEW: My boyfriend, Mike, was craving ribs so we thought we would try a new BBQ place, 7Rivers. We got a 3 meat plate with ribs, beef & chicken so we could test taste a few different critters. The ribs were large and, as Mike said, one of the best he's ever had. Incredibly tender, cooked just right, great flavor. No need for BBQ sauce. The beef came in second; tender and good smokey flavor. The chicken was good but, can't compare to the beef and ribs. Mike was so impressed with the ribs that he ordered a rib plate.

The rack had smaller ribs (not as thick) with good flavor, but weren't as fall-off-the-bone as the larger ones were. Perhaps they were cooked just a little too long for their size. The owner, David, came over to get our comments about he food. Seems like a good guy. The mashed potatoes with white gravy were great, with a very homemade taste & texture. The jalapeno corn was also very good. We will be back.

MY REVIEW: Got 2 Three meat plates so I could try all of the meat they offered. The beef, ribs and chicken were really good, the Turkey OK, and the sausages were just sausages. Skip those and just go for the real BBQ. Surprisingly good sauce too. Standard coleslaw, but the potato salad was good. They also have fried Jalapeno rings that are very tasty. I'll definitely go here again.

MY REVIEW: Our first visit was 2/26/11 and my husband and I both ordered the chicken fried steak. The meat was tender and tasty and the coating clung to the meat just like it was meant to. The gravy was just right - not too thick or too thin. The salad was abundant and very good. We were surprised that during the meal no bread or rolls were served...not even crackers with the salad. We were so pleased with the dining experience that we brought our Tyler friends with us on 3/12. We all ordered the chicken fried steak. The meat was tough and the breading was separated from the meat. The cream gravy was too thin. Salad and veggies were still good. We wanted to impress our friends with this new found restaurant but were sorely disappointed. The wait staff and the manager stood around and visited very loudly. We will give them one more try.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to 7 Rivers. I was pleased! I ordered the chicken fried steak w/salad, fries and Texas rice. The CFS was so tender I only had to use my fork to cut it. The gravy wasn't too thick and pasty so I liked that a lot. Although the salad was mainly iceberg lettuce, it was FULL of celery, tomatoes, red and green bell pepper & purple onion. A very generous serving topped w/Italian dressing was so good I ate the whole thing which I never do. The fries have a very light coating of some kind of beer batter (I asked) and were fried to perfection. Four people didn't finish them all. The Texas rice is their own creation. It's light & fluffy with sauteed corn and pecans in it. Very different and very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Friends got the BBQ sliced beef and chicken and were pleased w/it, the sauce, the potato salad, slaw and beans.

This place is good, has normal prices for this type place, the service was excellent and it was very clean. The owner even came out to ask us how we liked everything. Nice Touch! The location is convenient to those west of the Beltway. My friends and I will definitely come back here!

MY REVIEW: this place has good potential, but tonight's visit wasn't great. i'll give them a pass tonight based on the weather around and being kind of late when we went. the sliced beef sandwich was a nice size but the meat was bland. wife had the frito pie and the meat portion was a bit skimped. not many employees working either, they all seemed a bit overwhelmed. will try again though, the burgers looked pretty tasty.

MY REVIEW: Went for lunch on the official grand opening day (1/29). Sliced beef brisket was tender with just the right amount of smoke. Ribs were pretty good also. Potato salad was some of the best you will find at a BBQ place and the pinto beans were kind of bland. Portion size for a two meat plate was smaller than some places but still adequate for lunch.. Prices were in line with most other BBQ joints. All in all a pretty good experience. A little bit out of the way but no competition any where close by. They should do well. Will have to sum it up by saying they are better than about 75% of the other BBQ places I have tried here in Houston.

MY REVIEW: We used a restaurant.com certificate. This place was very good. Lots of TV's to keep the kids entertained. Food was good, price was right. My kids at everything which is hard to find a place where they will eat. The kid burger was very tasty. I haven't had bbq this good in a very long time. It is worth checking this place out.

MY REVIEW: made two visits to my new neighborhood bbq joint with mixed reviews. Staff was very professional and efficient. First visit I had the sausage links. The links were bland and really nothing special well as pre frozen french fries. The 2nd visit I had the ribs and once again they were average. I will have to say that the sauce was very good as well as the texas rice.

MY REVIEW: Still in the opening stages, bar area will be cute when finished. I had the burger, made the mistake of ordering a double and could barely eat it, it was so big - the patties are pretty good size (i wish she had told me). Flavor was good, did not really stand out from others. I'll go again, and try bbq, it looked good, taste will be decider. And I saw a chicken fried steak go by, it looked delicious, can't wait to try it. Not as big as the one's like those served at d*irtys, but looked tasty. Will definitely return.

MY REVIEW: YUM! Best ribs in town. Potato Salad second only to mom's! The french fries are so good (even after they are cold) that I save them for dessert! Very homelike atmosphere! Love, love, love the place!
