MY REVIEW: GREAT meatloaf sandwich (Hippo) ! Owners are really nice and friendly. Small cafe/diner type place with surprisingly nice choices. Wonderful icecream. One less-than-warm employee, but gets the job done. Lots of good choices of things that are different - not the same old sandwiches and hamburgers.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant was recommended to me by a local friend, and what a recommendation!! Everything was excellent from the ambiance and friendly service to the delicious dinner we had. The chili was unbelievable and I would love to try all the salads. I don't live in Texas, but if I am ever back in Galveston I will be back at The Jungle.

MY REVIEW: Wow!....and Wow again!Great sandwiches.

The 2 fisted Hippo hoagie is the best meatloaf sandwich anwhere. The chili just might be the best in Texas.
