MY REVIEW: Sushi was really good. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the sushi and the prices were super reasonable too. I took my family (wife and three kids) and they all loved the sushi. Best of all was my udon bowl that came with an interesting spoon to slurp away at my delicious noodles. The tempura shrimp was also amazing. Why pay full prices at expensive sushi restaurants when you can pop in and out if sushipop?!

MY REVIEW: The sushi is bland and doesn't taste fresh, and the rolls are very loosely rolled so that they fall apart when you try to pick them up. Portions are small for the price.

I've given them several chances to show they can improve, but the quality of food is just lacking. I will not be going back.

MY REVIEW: The staff have been very friendly to me on each visit. I didn't experience anything like the first reviewer.

The selection is limited to the more common types of sushi so don't go in expecting sea urchin or anything like that. Also, the available combinations are limited as well so you may end up ordering individual pieces.

The prices are a bit high for a fast-food sushi place, but not outrageous. HEB usually has a coupon for a free California roll on the back of the register receipts so that does help.

The sushi is definitely fresh but I agree it tends to be a bit bland. SushiPop certainly doesn't compare to a full service sushi restaurant. It's not supposed to. The idea is a quick visit for some sushi to satisfy your craving until you can get to one of those restaurants.

Summary: Don't go expecting a large selection and the feel of a full service restaurant. Expect a fast-food type experience with decent common sushi selections. I will certainly go back. There is nothing wrong with this restaurant...You just need to know what it is and what it isn't.

MY REVIEW: I am new to the neighborhood, and was excited to see a sushi shop nearby (sushi is my go-to comfort food). Quality was average. Pieces were small. Roll was bland. None of the roll/sushi combinations appealed that much to me, so I chose the sushi and spicy tuna roll combo. The spicy tuna was so hot that it completely overpowered the fish and it was too havy on the cucumber. Price is expensive for the quality. I like the HEB sushi just as well for much less cost. I will not be going back.

MY REVIEW: pros: modern decor and clean.

cons: food tastes like sushi we would get from the grocery store. every single staff was rude (sushi chefs, cashier, some girl cleaning tables). no hellos, how may i help you, or thank yous. just stuck up, unhappy faces.

i got a warning from my friend before i went, that it was expensive for the portion you get and how it didn't taste good. i doubted her and went to try it on my own. I SHOULD OF LISTENED TO HER! wasted $45 between my husband and i. i rather take that and go to another sushi establishment instead!
