MY REVIEW: The BEST fresh from scratch home cooked food! The Chicken Fried Steak was awsome, and they even made brown gravy for me, just because I asked!!! Can't wait to stop in next week when passing thru!

MY REVIEW: WOW, what a great place to eat off of the beaten path. Had lunch on Friday, The Blue plate special was the best, sirlion steak cooked on a open pit with natural gravy was out outstanding. Wife had chili and it was good also.

waitress was very attentive along with the owner. Prices were good and the specials Monday thru Friday look good,too. Will be back real soon.

MY REVIEW: This is indeed a great, off the beaten path, place to eat! My wife suggested it after noticing that their parking lot is always full. Service is down-home friendly. From the first greeting at the door till we walked out everyone was nice and helpful.

There is a lot of selection on the menu and they serve breakfast as well. I had the chicken fried steak (always a good test when trying out a new place) and my wife had the chicken fried chicken. Both were flavorful and cooked well. The proportions were good without being overboard as sometimes is the case with chicken fried steak. Dinner came with hot rolls which were some of the best I've been served. The rolls came with honey butter which the owner (Tim) said his wife makes fresh every day from unsalted butter and honey.

To top it off we tried the pie and I'm glad we did. When you go make sure to save room for that pie!

What a great place to eat in a real country atmosphere (you cant decorate that in, it comes with the actual country folks that eat there every day).

We will be back to see them again real soon.

MY REVIEW: I just haven't found another restaurant that will take the time to do it right. The Jay Cafe makes everything from scratch. Who does that anymore? The owner (Tim) greeted me at the door and visited our table several times during our visit, answering our many questions. He says their motto is, “nothing from a bag or a box”. So, every dish is fresh made in their kitchen daily. The chicken fried steak is a cut of lean beef. Wow. It is huge and dissolves in your mouth. On my second visit I had fried shrimp. It is going to sound corny, but these were the best shrimp I have every had. I asked them 'how', because a shrimp is a shrimp. You cannot buy a better batch. They say it is the batter they make everyday. Apparently, Tim's wife makes it.

Great food. Friendly and attentive service. Prices are excellent. The daily Blue Plate Special is just that, special. I wish you good luck, Jay Cafe. We need more restaurants like you.

MY REVIEW: Friendly local place. My burger was flavorful and very large. Could have been cooked a little less (it was VERY well done) but still very good. FANTASTIC homemade rolls and pies. They alone are worth the visit.

MY REVIEW: All food is made fresh from scratch!!! The fried shrimp, the chicken fried steaks, the chef salad are outstanding. Our server was awesome.

We can't wait to go back!!!!!
