Nick's Pizza and Gelato
210 Hwy 3, League City, Texas 77573
MY REVIEW: This little family owned gem deserves to have more customers at lunch than it does. The sauces are made from scratch and you can definitely taste the difference.
My lunch special ($7) of Chicken Parmsana with marinara was superb, and sided by spaghetti. It came with Caesar salad. And there was olive oil infused with roasted garlic for dipping. However, the bread (which I compared to C*arraba's in a previous review) was not as good this time. Either it was stale or a different recipe altogether.
Bread (this time anyway) aside, this is wonderful home-made Italian for so little money!

MY REVIEW: Our favorite treat is to dine at Nick's at least two to three times a month. When we enter the owner and his extended family all know us by name.
Our favorite things to eat are the stuffed mushrooms, seafood alfredo and the linguine with the white clam sauce.
If you don't order the Tiramisu your missing a real treat!!! They have become very attuned to what we want prior to us even opening our mouths... We adore our little date nights out at Nick's Pizza and Gelato!!!

MY REVIEW: Had a great lunch today: chicken cacciatore with a nice pompodoro sauce that was thick enough to cling to the chicken, vegetables and pasta. It was a $8 lunch special that presented more food than I expected for the price. Prior to ordering, they brought a delicious garlicky dipping oil and 2 slices of a tasty dense bread, baked on premises and similar to the bread C*arraba's makes. I wasn't expecting the dipping oil, nor was I expecting 2 more pieces of the same bread that accompanied the meal. Another nice surprise was the side salad of mixed greens, tomato, cucumber and black olives---a definite step up from the standard saucer of iceburg served at so many places.
I don't know if the waitress is an owner, but she provided service as if she has a stake in the operation. She offered me a free sample of the gelato, but I declined as I am trying to cut back on sugar (and had already consumed too much of that wonderful homemade bread). And, noticing that I was hobbling about in a walking cast, she even offered to carry my leftovers to the car.
Nick's is a casual place, but it's inviting with a saltillo-look floor and walls in hues of gold, green and orange. And a $8 lunch special featuring good food and service is pretty darn inviting as well.

MY REVIEW: The P*omodoro's restaurant is closed. Now the same location has Nick's Pizza and it is good! When we arrived Nick came over and introduced himself which was nice. We ordered soup, pasta fajoli and tortellini. I had the tortellini and it was so good, big chunks of vegetables in a chicken broth with tortellini of course. My husband had the pasta fajoli and he liked it also. Then we shared a pizza. The crust was crispy on the bottom and the sauce was good, so were the toppings. They also make gelato and it was good too.
We had eaten here when it was P*omodoro's one time and wouldn't come back becuase the pizza was not good. Nick's is good and he even came over and thanked us for coming in when we were about to leave. The waitress was super nice also. I definitely recommend Nick's.

MY REVIEW: Have picked up pizza on a Friday night twice now. Won't be going back. Both times the pizza was bland and crust soggy. Also ordered calzone 1st visit. By the time we got home (10 minutes) it was soggy too. Gelato is good.

MY REVIEW: Visited for dinner. Very casual but nice for those who have young kids. Ordered a large 4 cheese pizza. Good crust but a little dry. Asked for marinara sauce to dip it in, and it was much better. Didn't realize this particular pizza had no sauce on it. Also ordered a kid's meal (penne with meatballs) for our two-year-old son; it was plentiful. Didn't order a salad, but they looked great. The one thing that seemed odd was that you ordered at the gelado bar; this was a little confusing when we walked into the restaurant.

MY REVIEW: The creamy chicken pesto was delicious, the gelato tasted great. It's perfect for grabbing a quick lunch. Glad it opened in League City. This town needs more restaurants. Great food!

MY REVIEW: Great canolli. Pizza was ok. Crust was bland but cheese was good. Nice salad. Lasanga was too soft and meat was too hamburger.
