Mancuso's Italian Table

MY REVIEW: Lovely restaurant and excellent service. I asked for chicken piccata instead of the veal that was on the menu, and it was no problem at all for the waiter. Nice music, too. Valet parking. Only one patron in the dreaded short t-shirt/tacky pants outfit. Older diners, no children. The quiet conversation was wonderful. I'll definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: My first time for lunch and I was very impressed! Had a cup of soup and eggplant parmesan served with a side of spaghetti in a green pesto tomato basil sauce. Excellent! My only recommendation would be to add a half portion veal dish to the lunch menu. The dinner menu looks outstanding and will definitely be back to try it out.

MY REVIEW: We have been to Mancuso's a few times for dinner. Each time the food and the services were very good. Live music makes the overall experience even more enjoyable.

MY REVIEW: I like to go here for lunch sometimes. They have a pretty good lunch menu. Their eggplant parmasean is one of the best I've ever had. It's REALLY great the red sauce is very sweet - and very fresh.
I agree that the soup is just average. You used to be able to get it with your lunch and now they charge $2 - not worth it.
But I will go back again and again for the EP!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I decided to try Mancuso's after our friends highly recommended it. The food was great. You can tell that they use fresh ingredients and everything is home made. Living in Houston for 11 years, I truly feel that Mancuso's restaurants pizza is one of the best in town. They use a wood oven and It is delicious.
My wife tried the the Pene with Meatballs on our visit and on of their pizza dishes on our second visit.. She loved it. I tried one of their signature pizza dishes and egglant parmagane on my second visit . Both were out of this world!
I would highly recommend this place. The service is also great. Ask for Joshua when you go. He'll take care of you.

MY REVIEW: I thought it was great! The food was really good and the service was fast.. The oil mix they serve with the fresh hot bread was the best.. I had a Caprise Salad and Cheese ravioli with Sage Butter and it was really good. Looking forward to a return visit..

MY REVIEW: Just went to lunch there today with a date. I live in the area and just recently noticed that the long-empty(?) building now is a restaurant that's open for business. So, today I read the reviews on this site and thought it would have to be good because so many of them were very positive.
Turns out that the restaurant itself is nice, the service was good, but the food was just ok. To summarize it, we both had the same opinion: "I could probably make this at home." And, since I rarely cook, that's not saying a lot. : )
Coincidentally, we both ordered the same things: Baked dish of the day and Italian sausage soup. The baked dish of the day was penne pasta with chicken in a red pepper cream sauce.
Before the food came out, they brought bread and oil to the table. Another reviewer said the bread was addicting but I didn't think it was addicting. It was decent. Not great. Not bad. The oil itself was not as flavorful as I like and there wasn't a lot added to it to make it so.
The sausage soup came out and we both thought it was thin. There was enough sausage, onions, and carrots in it, but the broth itself was kind of thin. On the plus side, that means it's probably not as fattening.
The penne pasta came out and the first thing I noticed was that there was a fair amount of cheese melted into it which is good, but not a lot of red peppers, and the amount of chicken made me think they only had one chicken breast in the back and they wanted to make it last all day. The chicken was cubed very small and there weren't many in either dish. The flavor was good, but overall just good.
I hate to be so "meh" about the place, but given its location, the obvious comparison will be to C*arrabbas about 1/2 mile down the street. Since the meal with an iced tea and a hot tea was $37 including tip, I believe I could have gotten a better value and better food at Carrabbas.
Maybe this was just an off day for them...

MY REVIEW: This restaurant is awesome its the very first time that my wife and i visited this restaurant. We were on our way to c*arrabas and just happened to see Mancusos and we decided to try it out. We had a mussels appetizer recommend by our server that was excellent then my wife had the chicken mileanse and i had the linguine and clams they were both to die for. Our server Valesca was awesome, she is very sweet and attentive and she made our dinning experience so much better. The owner and manger both stopped by our table and made sure we enjoyed our experience. In all my wife and i cant wait to go back everything about this place is great.

MY REVIEW: Found this place because we couldn't get into or 1st choice and it was amazing. I went a second time (on purpose) and wondered if it was as good as the memory and it did not let me down. The food is so much better than the Italian factories in Houston and the staff/owners were outstanding. We went from wine to desert without a regret and even had a few songs sang to us. It was a little pricier than I'm accustomed to but worth it.

MY REVIEW: My first visit will definitely not be my last. Three friends and I had dinner, and was very pleased with the ambiance and service. Two of us had the sea bass which was one of the specials, it was excellent, another had pork chops, and the 4th had the pasta medley dish, with enough to take some home. My bread pudding was very light and delicious, I did not feel guilty having dessert. We all vowed to go back to this nice neighborhood restaurant again in the near future.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I visited Mancuso's about 3 weeks ago after hearing positive reviews from two friends. We were not disappointed. I had the Mediterranean pizza and my husband had the Ted's Trio. Portions were good size and the food was delicious! Nice wine list to choose from. The decor of the restaurant has been thoughtfully done with noise levels lower than most Houston restaurants. No concrete floors for the sound to bounce around in the dining room. We visited on a Friday night and a classical guitarist was playing. Just the right amount of background music. No need to shout while eatting. We will definitely return.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: Nice location & friendly staff, Weak points: Food & spotty service. Upon seating I was told it was beer and wine only, thats fine I'll have the Toscono Chianti..Sorry were out of that, then can I have some lemonade for the kiddo.. sorry were out of that, ok then some juice please, No luck, No juice either. Are you kidding? No juice at all?. We had the Tomato basil soup, pear gorgonzola salad, eggplant & chicken parmesan it was all just O.K, nothing special. No kids menu, Owner had to approve a 1/2 portion of spaghetti and meatballs, They did comp 50% of my bill, so they are trying. I will try them again in the future because the owner was very nice. Having C*arrabas on next block over is going to be tough to beat. They are way ahead in all areas right now.

MY REVIEW: We were a party of 5 celebrating my birthday. None of us had been here before and were all pleased with our meals. The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient. We had 5 different entrees, all of them nice portions and delicious.Tomato basil soup and the salads were excellent.I liked the atmosphere because it wasn't too loud and we could have conversation with out having to yell. The only negative was the pizza, it was soggy rather than crisp but the tiramisu and bread pudding made up for it Yummmmmmmmm. I will be going back and telling my friends about Mancuso's as well.

MY REVIEW: Excellent service & great ambiance. The calamari was the best I've ever had! Everyone there is warm and friendly. I can't wait to go back during the weekend to listen to piano while dining out on their veranda!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I heard about Mancusos from friends in Conroe and decided to drive in for a Saturday evening dinner. Having eaten Italian food in various restaurants from Sicily to Little Italy in New York, it was a delightful surprise to find the blue ribbon winner is is now within fifty miles of home.
Dody (one of the owners) recommended the Ted's Trio for my wife and I followed suit. OUTSTANDING choice! Being an old Southern country boy, I had to see if the Dodys bread puddin' desert was as good as "my momma" used to make. That had to be the best desert I have ever enjoyed and Mom would have ordered seconds and given Dody a high five.
Jerry Mancuso and Dody dropped by our table and treated us like next door neighbors. When eating out for dinner I usually look for carpet (quieter dining), linen tablecloths (just 'cause I think they're nice), and Mancuso's have both. The prices are very reasonable, the food is fantastic and the ambiance is like riding in a gondola with some dude playing a violin in the bow. By the way, ask Dody to sing at the piano bar while you enjoy the bread puddin'. She's very good and oldies are her specialty.
You folks in the Voss area are fortunate to have Mancuso's so close. It's a great dining experience.
ENJOY!
