MY REVIEW: Will not go back. My son took me there for Mothers Day because it was supposed to be such a good restaurant. When our entrees were served, mine was badly burned. By the time they cooked another, my son had finished his entree so in effect we didn't get to share a meal for the holiday. There really is no reason to serve burned food. It should not have left the kitchen.

MY REVIEW: First time to Opus Bistro and it was outstanding!Great for dinner date and couples night out! Beef medallions were excellent, crab cakes delicious and white choc mouse pie perfect. If you like rich sauces and different blends of food to enhance flavor this is the place to eat. Michael's service was excellent. Will definately be back for another nice dinner!

MY REVIEW: No strong points.

Building is cute. Nice on the inside. Way too loud!

My husband ordered the Portly Ribeye. Suppose to be port marinated in a port reduction. He ordered it medium - medium well. It was rare! Look like it had been burned on both sides and still cold in the middle. Blood ran out of it. My fish which was the red snapper with shrimp and crab meat in a bernaise sauce. First of all five bones found, no bernaise sauce , no flavor except the crab meat was delicious. Service sucked. Not going back ever. Going to R*udy and Packs. Our friends did not enjoy their meal either. Amazing that the reviews I have read are good and how crowded the place was. Oh, and no manager came to speak with us when my husband sent his steak back.

MY REVIEW: A close friend had recommended Opus Bistro to us. We decided to go on a Sunday. We did not have reservations, but it was early and there was no problem being seated. We ordered the soft shell crab and red snapper charlie brown. Neither meal really had much flavor - the red snapper was dry and bland. We had the house salad and somehow having canned black olives on a salad seemed a little tacky for a resturant of this type. Needless to say we will not be returning.

MY REVIEW: We had our first visit to OPUS on 3/4/2011 and was very excited. The food was outstanding, the service was adequate, the noise was terrible. There was NO buffer to help this and felt we will not be coming back when I have to shout to even converse with our guest. In observance of inside, no carpet, no window treatment to help buffer in this matter. Our friends had been there before in 2010 and told us of the noise factor but after our experience at the epicurien evening at NASA space center we were determined to give it a try. Sorry to say, we will not be dinning at OPUS again.

MY REVIEW: Opus has just become our favorite dining establishment. The off the menu duck with the hoisen sauce was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. My wife's red snapper w/mango & crab was also excellent. The wine menu was good and reasonably priced. Our waiter, Michael was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. The appetizer portabello mushrooms with shredded sirloin steak was a wonderful surprise with the mix of flavors. We throughly enjoyed the whole dining experience. We look forward to eating there again.

MY REVIEW: Opus continues to be one of our favorite places to dine in the clear lake area. We can tell that the word is out on this gem of a place. It is getting to be a popular spot for locals. The food, service and hospitality are what bring us back. Definitely a place for couples - nice to have an adult place to go. It can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so reservations are must. Prices are right in line for this upscale dinning experience.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went about a month ago. We are planning on going this weekend again and I am so excited! The service is delightful and food is beyond words. I had a steak with a cheese topping and he had some kind of fish entree, in which I had a taste of...it was amazing as well. I enjoyed my steak their more than at P*erry's (didn't think anyone could out do P*errys). We really enjoyed the atmosphere as well, casual elegant. It is the perfect date night dinner spot! The only thing I could find wrong was the prices on the bottles of wine, not bad but a little over inflated.Over all I give it a four and three quarter stars, prices on the food are reasonable for the type of establishment (also much better than P*erry's). Can't wait till Friday evening!

MY REVIEW: Extensive wine list. I tried the Louis Latour Chardonnay and Cakebread Chardonnay, both recommended by the beautiful and knowledgeable bartender Tracy.

This was my first, but not last, visit to Opus Bistro with three friends. My selections were: Beefsteak tomatoes with onions and gorgonzola cheese, Veal New Orleans, and Bananas Foster. The tastes of each dish were truly amazing! My dinner companions and I were in heaven. Opus Bistro has got to be the BEST dinner choice in the Clear Lake area. The service by Steve, our waiter, was outstanding. We all loved his sense of humor. I got to try the White Chocolate Mousse pie that my friend ordered. Fantastic for non-chocolate lovers.

If you want to have a drink at the bar, sit outside and enjoy the deck on the water, have a full-blown 5 star meal, or just grab a bite of dessert, I highly recommend Opus Bistro. This is now my favorite restaurant and will be bragging on and recommending it to all my friends and neighbors.

MY REVIEW: Went to Opus for dinner tonight and once again was not disappointed. The off the menu special of duck was superb!! A moist, NOT GREASY, tender duck breast was served with a hoysin sauce reduction, wild rice and brown sugar carrots - wonderful! Just enough bite in the sauce to make it interesting but not over power the duck and complemented nicely by the slightly sweet carrots (which were not cooked to mush). And only $19. I love duck and this is some of the best I've ever had and the most reasonable price! The steamed artichoke is still great and such a nice change from the usual appetizers.

MY REVIEW: This was our 1st visit to this wonderful restaurant. From the front entrance the restaurant doesn't have any curb appeal but once inside it is a small and intimate establishment. We were seated immediately next to a bank of windows looking out on a patio and waterfront. Nice ambience....tablecloths, dark & cozy, candlelight, nice bar area. We had a large party seated behind us that were loud but once they left the restaurant was the perfect setting. The wait staff were very attentive and our waiter, Sam was exceptionable! Nice wine list and menu. Both of us enjoyed our meal...especially the sauces that accompanied our entrees. Nice to finally find this gem in the Clear Lake area. Casual yet upscale! Will be back.

MY REVIEW: This was our 1st visit and we found them using B4. Not much to look at from the outside but once inside the decor and feel are quite nice. We didn't have a reservation and as such we got the worst table in the house next to the front door. I'm ok with that, we didn't make a reservation and it was a Saturday night. The consequences were all of the AC that would attempt to collect in our area whooshed right out the front door, make a reservation. Service started out a little slow, no server for about 5-10 minutes and then it really started hit us...literally, this place is very small, low ceilings and no carpet. To say it was loud was an understatement, to the point that you are having to lean in on every word of a conversation for a party of 4 is a bit much. Finally menus and wine list arrive and we get this evening going.

Appetizer was a crab cake, it was good, not the best, but was not expecting the best either. Could have been baked a bit longer as the center was warm and not hot, still, no complaints. Entree Veal Picatta, I've sampled many veal dishes and I do have to say this was without a doubt the thickest veal cutlet I've ever had. It was fantastic, could't have been more pleased. Wife had Snapper Oscar with crab, artichokes and mushrooms, she absolutely loved it. By the time desserts were in order, we'd had enough of the noise and heat. Food-8, Decor-8, Sevice-6.5. We'll definitely be back, but only in the spring or fall.

MY REVIEW: Nice new place in the Clear Lake area. The restaraunt is in the former location of P*ortofino's. However it has been remodeled and has a more up to date and very nice ambience. You can go here casual or on a nice date. We were a little reluctant to try it due to the lack of reviews plus I thought for a new place to say a "local favorite" on it's web site was a bit cheesy. However, the food was good. They have a nice wine selection as well.

My wife had a grouper special with a warm mango salsa that was very good while I had a pasta dish with seafood. As bread nuts we were pleased at the start with their really good and warm sour dough bread. I had a nice spinach salad with strawberries and my wife had the tomato salad. We enjoyed both.

The menu is not extensive but appears to be executed well. Our waiter was very good - friendly, knowledgeable of the wines and served us in a very relaxed manner. We definitely will go back.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit, but not our last. Located in the old P*ortofino building, it has been brightened and lightened. The steamed artichoke w/ sauce is a wonderful tasty change from the usual appetizers. I had the special of snapper with crab and shrimp w/ mushrooms in a puff pastry - wonderfully done, nice and moist, not too big a piece and very reasonably priced. They did a veggie plate with pasta for my husband and his French Onion Soup was nicely flavored with just a bit of peppery bite. All of the food prices were reasonable, the wine list was very nice and not overly priced. A very nice surprise was to see Michaeal (from S*ignature Bistro) there as a waiter - be sure to ask for him!
