The Naked Cupcake

MY REVIEW: A cupcake topped with crumbles of BACON??? Yep, and it's fantastic! It's called the French Toast cupcake and has maple cream frosting topped with pecans & bacon. Also bought Red Velvet, Lemon Blueberry and Chocolate. Like the previous reviewer said, you pick the flavor of icing(s) and they put it on while you watch. Hands down, the best cupcakes ever! Nice folks. Great concept. A dainty little cupcake bakery seems out of place in rough 'n tumble Bacliff, but, oh well.

MY REVIEW: Had a craving for good cupcakes in the Clear Lake area (and it's hard to find a good cupcake in this area!) and so I googled and found The Naked Cupcake in Bacliff. Nice, small, cozy and clean cafe. Pria (one of the owners) was very sweet and gave me a sample of the Crack Pie and mmm mmm...delish! Prices for a whole pie of this or their other specialty (Saffron Appie Cake) is $30. They bake cupcakes ($3/ea) fresh daily and don't put any icing, so that you can pick your own flavor of icing. I purchased the Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing and the lemon drop (which was a lemon and orange mini cupcake, $1). Both were very moist and delicious, unlike the cupcakes at the bakery across the street from my job on NASA Parkway (but we won't say any names :). I also had the Nicaraguan coffee, good partner to cupcakes. I will definitely visit again.
