Trattoria Italia (CLOSED)

MY REVIEW: Well after working out of town for the last six weeks i was looking forward to eating at my favorite restaurant. Come to find out they have closed. After visiting some of the surrounding businesses they pretty much just said they didn't know why. On the restaurant Facebook page they did have a little good bye announcement but still it didn't make me feel better. How ill miss this place! The food the wine, the staff was always nice, Ceaser and Ryan were always great servers. By far the best service of any restaurants I've ever eaten at. Some of the best food, no one makes a alfredo sauce or a marsala sauce like they did. Hope baytown realizes soon that they lost a gem. they were on the older side of town but that didnt stop us from visiting. a good meal is always worth the drive. If someone knows the owners tell them to let us know where they plan on opening next. Hopefully its in a more successful area. well to whoever reads this, hope you had the pleasure of eating there. Im gonna miss this place.

MY REVIEW: Homemade delicious Italian food. The first time I went here was Valentines Day 2012. My boyfriend and I figured we would avoid the crowds and wait and decided to try it out, we were surprised with an amazing meal, great service, and were greeted personally by the chef and owner. We came back a few months later and had another great experience. If you like mushrooms, the fried mushrooms are the best I've ever had. Chicken parmesan is also a good choice, and if your a fan of calzones they are huge and good.

MY REVIEW: Trattoria Italia is our favorite place to eat. There is nothing close to it in Baytown. Everything is made in house. Fresh herbs and vegetables are used from the garden located just outside the restaurant. They always have good off-the-menu specials. Homemade desserts are always wonderful. We absolutely enjoy the experience every time of having an intimate type restaurant in our hometown.

MY REVIEW: Marie knows hwo to do Italian and Greek. We love her cuisine and have followed her for the last 12 years. We have never been disappointed. The food is terrific, especially for the price. The best picatta (chicken or veal)and marsala. Her greek lemon potatoes make me swoon. And the home made desserts can't be passed up. She is cordial and interested in her customers and always drops by the table to say hello Wild mushroom ravioli, veal chop and other specials are reasonable and accompanied by tasty sides. Don't miss this gem. A*ntonio's pales in comparison and C*arino's isn't even in her league. Check for the wine specials - all reasonable. Order the Flaming Greek Cheese for an appetizer. OPA!

MY REVIEW: So we have been there a couple of times lunch and dinner. The food is good and staff is pretty on point. I've tried their new rainbow trout and it was awesome if I could I would eat that every day. They've also had a veal chop which was monstrous in size very well cooked the owner said they're the only ones in baytown with veal, and their alfredo is the best in baytown.
If the owner is there she will come up and greet you end tell you her background, Service varies from lunch to dinner there seems to be two diffrent vibes. The chef can be quick tempered and if she's upset you will defintely hear what she has to say in the kitchen. I've reffered them to many of my friends and co-workers and apperantly it used to be a shouting match on a regular basis. I definetly will keep going I just hope they last with the 5 or 6 new restaurants opening by the mall. I think baytown should stop letting new chain restaurants in town and support their hidden gems.

MY REVIEW: The decor is wonderful. Very warm and welcoming and also relaxing. Great service, great food, and most of all a great cook - Maria Zoes is a well known chef around Baytown and we are so glad to have her back in her Greek/Italian comfort zone!
As soon as you are seated at your table you are brought a basket of bread and herb oil (*awesome taste*), the menu has been recently updated and it's full of delicious items you couldn't get anywhere else in Baytown or close by without driving deep into Houston. Service was pleasant, you can tell the waitstaff gets along and works together.
I suggest this place for a date or even a family dinner outing. You can also reserve a fancy and private section of the restaurant with a beautiful wooden table for staff meetings or small party dinners, called the Chef's Table. I give this place 5 stars!!
Glad to have you back Maria!

MY REVIEW: Visited Trattoria Italia for the first time this weekend. I always love to check out Italian places I hadn't been to before. I had the Alfredo (served with Fettucine, of course)and added the blackened chicken. YUM!! Wow, this was yummy...I had never been to such a small intimate restaurant and the service was great! I enjoyed the fact that they had the choice of wheat bread. I really loved the dessert choices too :) My mom had the lasagna for dinner and some cheesecake for dessert, for dessert i had the tiramisu :)
Also want to give a special thanks to our server, Matt, for helping me decide between the grilled chicken and the blackened chicken...by stating his favorite thing was the alfredo with blackened chicken, which made me try it! Again, YUM!!

MY REVIEW: It took them 3 weeks to figure out that you need a spoon to dish out the olive oil on the table. At least that long to eliminate the hard stale bread. You need a knife to cut the meatballs. The menu says spaghetti, but it's linguine. Their sauce is just canned tomatoes with a little bit of herbs tossed in. During my last visit the chicken marsala was burnt. The place is cute. The service not bad.
The Veranda wasn't any better on it's best day. Give this place a try...then stick to A*ntonio's or C*arrino's.

MY REVIEW: Well , I guess I'm the first to write a review. This little jem of a restaurant is the latest project of Maria Zoes. Baytownians have loved her dishes since the now defunct V*eranda Cafe and the D*oghouse Cafe.
What can I say except that it is WONDERFUL to get her back to cooking her Greek infused Italian dishes. My wife had the Grilled Tuna. The fish was wonderful, thinly sliced and kept moist and pink in the middle. Seared to perfection with a tasty lemon butter basil sauce. At most of these places it's all about the main item on the dish. I have to say with great enthusiasm that Maria's sides compete with the main item on the dish. With the tuna we had potatoes au gratin and squash casserole. The potatoes were flawless, and the squash casserole....OH MY GOD!! was wonderfully done with egg like a light and fluffy souffle.
Myself, I had the Rigatoni Alla Zoe. This was a single pasta dish, but OH the yummy! Grilled chicken and sliced mushrooms in a rosa sauce. The large rigatoni was cooked to perfection set off with light sprinkling of ricotta salata cheese.
The service was attentive, and Maria tried (she was very busy with a full room of guest) to check on patrons to see if they liked their meal. Our waitress didn't know the menu very well yet, but this is understandable since it is the first week. Hopefully time will improve these few shortcomings. As long as Maria continues to be a presence in the kitchen, I know this place will become a local favorite....it is mine already.
