Mariel's Mexican Cafe & Tamale Factory

MY REVIEW: Very good place for great food. Food is well prepared and fresh instead of processed in masses. Small friendly place where owner will make sure you are taken care of, shows pride in his menu. Not on the menu but make sure you ask for the spinach quesadilas.

MY REVIEW: Wow! They make the lightest, most delicious chicken tamales I've ever eaten. We took a half dozen home to sample and wish we had bought more! We'll be back soon. My husband and I tried the fish and the chicken fajita, too, and both were great. It was nice to eat charro beans that were not too spicy--just good flavor.

MY REVIEW: Definately great tamales! And the red sauce they give you to go with them is awesome... I personally haven't tried their other food, but everyone says it's good also. I would stay away from the queso though...I've ordered it twice - the first time it was runny and tastless and the second time it was just thick nacho cheese sauce. Unfortunate because I like queso with tamales. Everyone who works there is friendly and the owner is very excited about his food.

MY REVIEW: Great tamales! Try the spicy pork! The fish is also excellent and since it's a family owned business customer service is great. It isn't fancy at all, but prices are good and food is really yummy!

MY REVIEW: Saw a banner claiming that they have "Texas Best Gourmet Tamales" so I stopped in to try it out...to my suprise it was the best tamales I have ever eaten. No lardy mess hear, just great tasting plump tamales! The bigger suprise is that the other than the tamales there is a lot of other great dishes. The food is not salty, feels clean, fresh and wholesome dishes. They have a great taco dinner plate and for desert delicous sweet tamales (something you have to try). It is family owned and run with a comfortable atmosphere. I found it worth the drive and would highly recommend Mariel's Mexican Cafe!
