MY REVIEW: These are the best tamales on this side of the county, easily! And would you believe a friend from Missouri put me on to them; I'll be forever grateful. I've told my friends, and they take them to friends and relatives out of state (I know people have enjoyed them in at least 5 other states). My favorite: spicy brisket (for me they're not TOO spicy). Another friend got in line a week before Xmas two years ago to buy some not knowing you have to pre-order for the holidays. Last year he didn't make that mistake--and I'm sure he's already ordered for this year!

MY REVIEW: Very good tamales, they compare favorably with the handmade tamales at A*lamo Tamales' 3 locations. They are large and meaty and obviously made according to an old family recipe.

MY REVIEW: I too have tried most all of the tamale selections available here, and all I can say is "Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!" This has fast become my place of choice for tamales in Baytown! I prefer them even over the local restaurants like C*asa Ole and El T*oro! These remiond me of the tamales that the local venders would carry out to the jobsites in the igloo coolers and sell - homestyle and homemade all the way! If you want good tamales, roll on in! You won't be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: i been "jonesing" for good tamales for a while. I am sure there are several good tamale makers in the Houston area, but i live in baytown. Although I am in Houston every single day I am just not patient enough to go search them out. Okay so this place pops up in a building where several restaurants have failed miserably over the last few years and I put off stopping in for the first couple of months to see what happens.
well they are still there so in I go. Spartan surroundings, looks as if they bought the furniture from the previous owner, but hey that's quite a selection of tamales on that there menu!!! After several visits I have tried most all of them and tehy are greaty!!
The brisket, chicken, and pork are excellent and the spicy version of each very good, but just a little spicier than I like. the bean and cheese I don't care for because the cheese is in big glumpy chewy hunks that make eating them unpleasant and not particularly pleasurable. On my last visit, almost on a whim I try the bean tamales and much to my surprise these are my new favorite!! the bean and cornmeal combination is just perfect!!
The sides I have tried are pretty much run of the mill, but not bad at all. there are some special meal take out deals that are both convenient and economical. This joint is a keeper!!!!!!!!
