MY REVIEW: As a 40+ year resident of Spring Branch, I can only say THANK YOU to Chuck and his fantastic staff and family for opening this gem of a food haven just a mile from my home. I'm forever yours - can't wait for my next creamy pasta lunch special, and I dream about your risotto.

MY REVIEW: After being in Houston 38 years we have finally found a New Orleans style roast beef sandwich. It is as authentic as the best roast beef sandwich New Orleans has to offer. The Hollister Grill has it made to perfection. Great beef, as much gravy as you want, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes on the best French bread. This sandwich saves us a six hour drive to New Orleans.
And if you haven't tried the chicken wings, you don't know what you are missing. Large, crispy, juicy, in other words --- really good.
We have not been disappointed in any entree at this fine restaurant. Besides the food, the service is so friendly and accommodating you will truly have a dining experience that you will remember.

MY REVIEW: Went with 3 other couples and had the best time. Service was friendly but not intrusive. Great specials. Had their version of surf-n-turf; tile fish filet with oxtails. Outstanding!!
Chuck is such a great host and always makes dinner an event, not just a meal.
Grab a bottle (or two) and make a reservation. You cannot go wrong.

MY REVIEW: We've eaten here a number of times for lunch and dinner but just today today they started a Sunday brunch. There are some interesting things on the menu, but my wife really loved the crab cake benedict made with their excellent crab cakes we've had before for dinner. They also had $2 mimosas with fresh orange juice. Besides that, they'll try their best to make you things that aren't on the menu (french toast) as long as they have the ingredients handy. It's our neighborhood restaurant and we wish them luck with brunch as it provides another option.
The service here is always great and very friendly.

MY REVIEW: The Hollister Grill is a true neighborhood gem tucked away in the back of Spring Valley. As any foodie should know, making reservations these days is a must - so be sure to call ahead to this quaint and popular spot.
From the start, you are greeted with smiles and a warm welcome by the owner, Chuck - who treats you like family. He's personable and kind and makes the experience a memorable one.
After dining at BYOBs before, you come to have low expectations for the breed...but this BYOB is a rare exception to the rule. White tablecloths, classy guests, upscale food, and exceptional service. The food is top-notch and the prices are well-appointed. Food highlights include the caprese & apple-arugula salads - delcious and both LARGE & easily shared. The shrimp & scallops over risotto with a surprising avacado side is my favorite dish. Cooked to perfection and just the right seasoning. The steaks have been PERFECTLY cooked both times I've been and the truffle mac & cheese is phenomenal. In case you don't like a side that's offered - do ask Chuck to change it up for you - it's like family when you are at Hollister Grill!
I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out, special occasion, double date, or just anything, really! :)
Thanks Chuck for your hospitality, great food, and for redefining the BYOB experience!!!!

MY REVIEW: We visited the Hollister Grill for dinner and it was the first time. We eat dinner out all the time and I have to say that the food was absolutely amazing, and the service as well. If you go to this quaint but elegant little restaurant in Spring Branch, make sure you make reservations and ask for Sondra to be your server she is very attentive without being intrusive.
We have eaten at some of the fanciest establishments in town and this one really outshines them all. Great big portions and reasonable prices.

MY REVIEW: Hollister Grill is right around the corner from us, in the old Il N*apoli location, which was a Spring Branch institution of classic Italian food for decades until it closed a few years ago. After a decent mourning period, hubby and I finally made it over for lunch. Wow. We both had the chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The crust was light, perfectly seasoned, and clung admirably to the tenderized steak. And, it was comfortably cloaked - rather than drowned - in some of the best cream gravy I've ever tasted, flecked with crispy bits o' crust and peppered deftly enough that I didn't have to ask for a shaker. The chef knows his way around good, fresh food. Mashed potatoes with skins dressed with a smidge of the delectable gravy and a lightly cooked, crisp, fresh veggie medley rounded it out. This restaurant could become a bad - but good tasting - habit!

MY REVIEW: Excellent food and presentation, classy atmosphere, friendly service, and bring your favorite wine! I loved the Hollister Grill and can't wait to go back! My friend and I had the lobster bisque, mushroom appetizer, snapper entree, and white chocholate bread pudding to conclude a fabulous dinner! Word of mouth is spreading quickly about this place, so next time I will make a reservation, and it will be very soon!

MY REVIEW: It's more than just the best food in Houston. The entire experience of dining at the Hollister Grill is exceptional! Between the eclectic menu (Chicken Fried Ribeye? Really?), the outstanding waitstaff and the owner (who often sits and chats with the customers)it is the most relaxing and enjoyable meal I have ever had. We've eaten here with friends and family, and everyone agrees that this is a truly amazing restaurant. We'll be back (again, and again, and again)

MY REVIEW: My wife and I decided to enjoy a date night on Friday. Chuck and Co. never let you down. The cauliflower and curry soup w/crab was fantastic. Ceasar salad was to die for as was the stuffed chicken parmesian...and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert - are you kidding me!
Chuck stopped by our table as usual to chat - he really has a knack for running a restaurant.
FYI, we arrived early (6:30) but by the time we left (7:30) the place was packed w/several parties waiting to be seated. Definitely call ahead for reservations.
Will be returning soon.

MY REVIEW: Great food and exceptional, attentive, friendly service. Very cozy atmosphere.
The Osso Bucco was just amazing. There are very few places that offer good service and food like they do here.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I decided to try to Hollister Grill after reading the reviews. I must say that the reviewers hit the mark. This restaurant is great! In the past 2 months, we have eaten there 4-5 times and have consistently been surprised at how wonderful the food is. Based upon recent crowds, HG is being discovered. The chef and wait staff are so attentive and makes you feel special. Sondra is truly wonderful!! And, don't forget the other plus -- byob.

MY REVIEW: I had a handful of people tell me I just had to eat at Hollister. My fiancé and I arrived and we were pleasantly greeted at the door. Unfortunately we forgot to call ahead but we sat at the bar and opened our bottle of wine and happily waited for a table (you cannot have enough restaurants that are BYOB). The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Chuck was great chatted with the tables as if he has known you for years. Our friends told us we had to eat the crab cakes so we ordered that right off the bat. DELICIOUS! For the main course we ask Chuck what he recommended we had the Osso Bucco it was amazing and large enough for us to split. All in all it exceeded its expectations and you can be sure we will be dining there soon and bringing new people to experience Hollister Grill!

MY REVIEW: I finally talked my husband into eating somewhere other than his "for sure" restaurants. Meaning, he knows the menu, he knows what to expect, he likes the price & especially the atmosphere. At first I thought he wasn't going to like that fact that HG was a small place & when we arrived around 6ish, it really wasn't that busy. But once we were greeted by Chris & treated like we had been there before, and prior to even eating anything, he said he liked the place. But of course once he ate his fabulous salmon, he was won over. I had the shrimp and scallops that were to die for. And of course we had the crab cakes, which hubby had never had & absolutely loved. We will definitely return and will recommend to all of our friends. Decent prices for quality of food.
