MY REVIEW: My husband and I decided to try this because it was close to home. We came back the second night (in a row) because it was delicious and fresh. I would have eaten there again today but hubby said no - guess he has a rule of no sushi three days in a row??? The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The first night we had the Big Dave, shrimp fried rice (huge portion) and a Philly roll. The second night we had the noodles and Rocky Mountain roll. Loved all dishes both nights. Did I mention it was FRESH?

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant! By far the best variety of rolls I have ever seen. I am not a raw fish sushi lover so I am impressed when I find a japanese restaurant that has so many specialty rolls with cook meat. I live close so when we are trying to pick up a quick, cheap bite to eat we always share a fried rice and then each get a $5 sushi roll. The fried rice comes in one of those big styrofoam containers filled to the lid for under $10! You must try this place if you have never been. I prefer the one on Grand Pkwy over the Mason location b/c of the atmosphere.

MY REVIEW: My wife can't get enough of this place. She is a big sushi fan and almosts exclusively gets sushi every time we go there. I usually get the other items on the menu. The tempura is good. The Kobe beef burger was surprisingly very good coming from this kind of restaurant. The special fried rice and yaki soba are also quite good. The miso soup is above average and the salad is as well. The only items I have had that I would pass over in the future were the seafood curry and Miso soup with salmon and mushrooms. They did not live up to my expectations. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice.

MY REVIEW: The strength for this location is definitely their sushi. I would recommend their sushi "tiramisu". You better pack some antacid... this dish is hot.
For the folks that love sushi, but have significant others that don't. They have some tasty dishes for regular folks (like my wife). She loves the fried grouper, sesame chicken, and kobe beef burger.

MY REVIEW: This is a great place to eat, and I'd say it's worth up to a 20 minute drive... maybe 30 depending on the quality of the Sushi places around you. I have had the Ashley Roll, the Crazy Irishman, Orange Dragon Roll, and several others. My wife usually stays to more normal food like the Kobe burger, or the fried grouper. We always start with either the crab puffs, or dumplings. We have yet to eat anything not to our liking. My wife tried one of the Bento boxes, and it was more food than she could even think about eating.
Strong points: These people aim to please. The food is always consistent and fresh, and never disappoints.
Weak points: 1 out of 3 visits it may take awhile to get your drink order taken because they are so busy, but once you have your waiters attention you'll be well taken care of. I also think their lunch menu could have more choices, but the prices are very reasonable.
Specialties: The sushi is phenomenal, fresh, and oh so delicious... and the presentation of the sushi is great too... and try the crab puffs.
Entrees: Try the sushi, even if you don't think you like sushi. I talked my wife into trying it our last trip, and I may eventually have a sushi convert on my hands. If you have folks in your party afraid of sushi, there are plenty of other choices.
Desserts: They have plenty of choices for dessert, but I've always had so much for dinner that there is never room for dessert. If I recall correctly, there are about 6-8 choices for dessert that are newly updated.
Location: This place is just out of the way on 99 (Grand Parkway) in Richmond, TX. The building is right out in front of Walmart, Khol's, Petsmart, Bestbuy, etc. If you are planning a day of shopping, this is a smart place to eat.

MY REVIEW: we probably eat here once every week or two weeks (its right in front of our house). i love the large variety of choices of non-fish sushi (i'm allergic) and they offer descriptions and pictures so you know exactly what youre getting. i dont think the prices are very high, you get a pretty big size serving. the service is always excellent. and the house salad is delicious!!

MY REVIEW: Sushi Hana is like the contemporary older brother of the original Sushi Hana on Mason Rd. The menu is amped up with more fusion dishes and more appetizer/shareable items. The place feels more upscale, with a bar that extends from one side of the restaurant to the other and two plasma TV's broadcasting sports/news or news/sports. I had the chance to get something to go on a lazy work day and I am for the most part happy I did.
Strong points: Giant menu selection, extensive lunch specials, friendly but not ostentations staff.
Weak points: No online menu yet, no descriptions on the Mason road website's menu of any of the rolls or combinations so it's very hard to order blindly by phone.
I picked up the following menu items (but only after asking many questions to the lady who answered the phone at the Mason road location about which sushi roll contains what):
a) Tony Roll (mixed raw fish inside, tempura fried) - My co-worker loves this dish, so I shared with her...not bad...but it was a fried roll to-go, so it could have been better if not for the time it took to get back to the office which made the roll/tempura batter cold.
b) Spicy Yellowtail Crunch roll - really what's not to like, raw yellowtail rolled up and then covered in an avalanche of crunchy tempura bits.
c) Japanese chicken fried rice lunch special - butter grilled fried rice w/ snow peas, broccoli, onion, bean sprouts, very, very good...my more aggressive co-workers stole half of this from me before I could even start on it. It comes with soup and salad...a very good portion for a very good price ($8...but the funny thing is that it is $6 on the Mason road website's menu)
d) Shrimp/avocado roll (spicy option) - simple, easy, japanese-like....you really want to add the spicy option here if you get it to go. why? read on.
The to-go service was really nice. They loaded us up with napkins and chopsticks, forks and spoons. Because of the spicy option we also got a very generous helping of spicy mayo to-go packed by itself as well as the same portion size of Sriracha (the Asian rooster hot sauce). I have been finding ways to use this up still today (porcorn + sriracha = yes....popcorn + spicy mayo = no....s*ubway's grilled chicken breast sandwich + spicy mayo = surprisingly yes). I thought it was a nice touch and was appreciative for the effort. Spicy mayo makes life better.
Ok...so all in all I give the new Sushi Hana a solid 7.5 out of 10 for to-go service. It hit the spot for lunch and is a welcome addition for people working on the West side of town.
Next time I am looking forward to trying the lunch special featuring a Kobe hamburger with sweet potato fries for $9 ?!?!? (I did a double-take too).
Happy eating!

MY REVIEW: Mediocre Sushi high prices. Ambiance is good, prompt service. Continuing with the overall theme in Houston, expensive sushi that is not that good.
