Dario's American Bistro

MY REVIEW: The food and service at Dario's is excellent. We have eaten there twice and both times have thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. The parking lot is crowded but that doesn't detract from the service or food.

MY REVIEW: This is by far our favorite Resteraunt. No you don't have to suit and tie but the food is wonderful. I would put their tuna steak against anyone.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I love this restaurant. It's well decorated inside, nice ambience. Wonderful big black leather booths, white tablecloths. Food and service are excellent. I ordered the filet mignon and it rivalled P*appas Steakhouse. Waitstaff is top notch, too. We are going back tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I agree with other comments that the location is not that great, but get over it, it's a very nice well-run restaurant. What a great find in Cypress!

MY REVIEW: Went to Dario's with my husband for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, the wine (Rodney Strong Merlot!..and an entire bottle of it!) and the food. Girls, you will like this...the bathroom was very nice and CLEAN!! (thank you).
I ordered the chicken penne pasta, my husband had the NY strip. Mine was delicious. We also had asparagus, whipped potatoes...oh and more wine. We will definitely return...Our meal, including a bottle of wine was $120, including tip....and worth it!

MY REVIEW: My wife & I decided to try Dario's one night since we both love A*licia's next door. We both agree that what they are trying to pull off in this location just doesn't work. It is very difficult to have a "fine dining" restaurant next door to A*licia's. You get an overflow of customers that come dressed appropriately for a casual mexican restaurant but not dressed appropriately for a "fine dining" restaurant. Dario's has a dress code, but it is not enforced. This is one of the major problems with this location. Other than that the inside is very well done & inviting.
As far as the food is concerned it was hit & miss. The soups we had (lobster bisque & roasted red pepper) were both A+. Very well seasoned & great texture. Our main course however was very "old school". My steak (ny. strip) was covered with a brown sauce that was not very good & unnecessary, but obviously they cover it because they are trying to cover up a bad piece of meat. On it's own the steak was not USDA Prime quality and for fine dining steak you should expect nothing less. My wife's crab cakes were awful. Two huge pieces of bread & strings of crab meat. Not lump which all crab cakes need to be made from. They were also seasoned with way to much lemon. We sent them back.
Overall I would go back for lunch but for a fine dining experience drive to Houston. Dario's just has to much going against it.

MY REVIEW: Top notch. I would recommend to anyone. Atmosphere, Presentation, Quality, and Service all at a high level. The staff seems committed to pleasing the customer, which is the way all restaurant’s should be, but unfortunately most aren't. Try this place, you want be disappointed. The Banana’s Foster prepared table side makes for a nice finally.

MY REVIEW: First visit to Darios was incredible and exceeded our expectations. Before leaving we commented that it was probably the best meal we had ever eaten. Their Filet was beyond belief and highly recommended. The atmosphere was very nice and they were busy even early on a Friday evening
Our server Alfredo took excellent care of us, he was very pleasant and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

MY REVIEW: While everything was delicious, the butternut squash tortellini in sage cream sauce was outstanding. Service was excellent. Atmosphere and quality of food you would normally have to drive into Houston to experience. We'll definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Cypress has finally received a "5-STAR" restauarnt! David has put together a total team in terms of management, cheifs and serving staff. Hecktor and Art do an oustanding job in managing the floor. They are totally active in providing the best service possible. The servering staff is second to none! They know how to effectively provide their customer's with the highest service level possible.
Last but not the least is their GREAT food selection. The head cheif, Alex, has developed a great menu with the highest quality. His creativity is unbelieveable with the great entrees that are presented.
Recently we had a church group there for dinner and one person stated that their dinnig experience was the greatest that they have had in Texas. The total dinning experience was outstanding-the design of the restaurant, the sevice and the quality and presentation of the food made the evening!
David and your team, keep up the Great Job and continue to provide Cypress with the Greatest Restaurant,

MY REVIEW: Amazing! My husband and I shared an appetizer of fried calamari, and the marinara sauce was so delectable that I very well could have bathed in it!! We both ordered the Dario Salad (based on the waiter, Alfredo's, recommendation), and were so happy...it's a mix of hearts of palm, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and spinach, but presented in a classy, clever way. Too much delicious salad for me, as a woman, alone, but two girls or two light eaters could share.
I ordered the flounder, which was delicious, and was accompanied by asparagus, carrot, and mashed potatoes (in a very French-style). Hubby had the seared tuna in ponzu sauce...it killed!!! It was, by far, the very best tuna we've had in these here parts. Extraordinarily fresh, perfectly-cooked to rare with some tasty portabella slices on the side. We had no room for dessert, as tempted as we were by the creme brulee, carrot cake, key lime pie, etc.
The service was as good as you can ask for beyond the 610 Loop. The wait service seems to have been trained at some swanky Mexican restaurants (Mexico city, Reynosa, etc.), so they go all out to make sure you have bread, water, butter, cleared plates. The owners(s) made the rounds, shaking hands, welcoming, etc., which is what you would expect in a restaurant like this. I was very, very impressed, especially considering I don't really care for A*icia**s food anymore.

MY REVIEW: I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and it was phenominal. We started out with salads, she got the boston salad and I got the Caesar and both were full of flavor, the boston had a very interesting delicous dressing that the bacon accomponied very well. The chef's special of the night was the 8oz filet topped with a lobster tail so my girlfriend ordered that and I ordered the 14oz New York Strip. Both Steaks were sensational, I usually prefer the strip to the filet, but at Dario's I would definitely reccomend the filet, the New York Strip was amazing however I found the filet to have a little more flavor.
My girlfriend isn't one for seafood so I had her lobster tale and it melted in my mouth, full of ingredients and fine textures and flavor. Both steaks were served with mashed potatoes that were outstanding as well. Now for dessert we ordered the terra mousse cake and this cake was just as satisfying as the rest of the meal we had enjoyed, perfect texture and the cake was a very reasonable price ($6.95). Our total bill was around $95 and was worth all of it.
The decor was very upscale and fitting to the cuisine and the service was prompt, I was never thirsty waiting for a drink, and management genuinely cared how we were doing and made sure we were enjoying our experience. Well Done.

MY REVIEW: Being a long time regular at A*licia's Mexican Grille, the next door restaurant owened by the same family, I have been to Darios several times since it opened. Every occasion has been excellent, but this last visit proved that we certainly do have a "Houston quality" upscale restaurant in Cypress.
I wanted to treat 11 friends to a special dinner, and Dario's certainly helped me do just that. Being a fairly new restaurant (< 6 mo.) I wasn't sure how often they handled large parties, but they showed us that they were definitely up to the task. They had a special table in the back for us, and handled a party of 12 with ease! I had pre-selected some wines, which they had waiting on the table and in wine chillers for us. As a last minute request for apetizers for the table, they put together a special apetizer sampler for each person which included a sample of 4 of their best apetizers and was fantastic! Everyone's main course was equally as exceptional!
The service was impecable, and they did a wonderful job with serving all the food at the same time, without sacrificing any quality! They really treated my friends and I to a wonderful evening. And they seemed to enjoy serving the large party as much as we enjoyed the evening. I would highly recommend Dario's for your special occasion large party! The Stuffed Flounder and Marvin's Ravioli is excellent, as well as the off-the-menu Filet Oscar and Sea Bass. All the salads are wonderful too, particularly Darios Salad! Don't forget to save room for the wonderful deserts, particularly the Banannas Foster!

MY REVIEW: We went on a Monday night. The restaurant was quiet and we got EXCELLENT service from Alfredo and the rest of the staff. My husband and I shared a crabcake and avocado pancakes for appetizers and both were quite good. For entrees, we split a strip steak and the flounder. The steak was good but the flounder was outstanding! The entrees come with their own sides which saves money--unlike the steak houses in Houston. We will definitely be going back.

MY REVIEW: Okay, I'll keep this review real simple: Wonderful Ambiance (beautiful decor)+ Attentive Service (refined and classy) + Gourment Cuisine (quality ingredients and expert preparation) + Value Pricing (food AND wine) = UNIQUE, FIRST CLASS, FINE DINING EXPERIENCE.
Dario's is the real deal. If you are a foodie, and appreciate fine dining, then you must give them a try. We did, and we will be back. Nice to add another top notch restaurant to our favorites list.
