MY REVIEW: Decided to give Luigi's a try since it recently opened near our neighborhood. I'd heard great things about their midtown location, and had heard they were BYOB. We brought a nice bottle of red wine with us. When we got there, the guy behind the counter gave me a corkscrew and two glasses. No corkage fee! Nice! We ordered the large special (everything on it). When they brought it to the table, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. This is some serious pizza! 100% NY style. Thin crust that falls apart if you don't fold it. Plus they have homemade gelato for dessert! This is by far the best pizza in the Bellaire/Meyerland/Westbury area. Will definitely be back....many many times!!

MY REVIEW: Pizza is not just a food to me, it's an experience. And nothing beats a New York pizza for the ultimate pizza experience. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a pizza experience in Houston over the last 30+ years - until today. Although some places get the ingredients correct, the crust is 95% of the experience. New York pizzas have a thin, flavorful crust, but it isn't crisp. if you pick it up in one hand without folding it, it will sag so far that the toppings will fall off. Getting it thin, soft and packed with flavor is the key to a NY pizza. Is it the wild yeast in the air? Is it the water? I've tried just about every pizza joint in and around Houston. R*C's Pizza in Kingwood makes a real NY pizza, but I live in Bellaire. When I saw that Luigi's opened a location in my neighborhood, and read the reviews stating it was the real New York experience, I had to try it immediately. I went there today for lunch and ordered a slice of pepperoni. OMG! If you know what real New York pizza is and miss it as much as I did, treat yourself. I don't know how they get the crust right, but they do! WARNING - If you like D*omino's/Pizza H*ut/Papa J*ohn's, don't bother ordering their pizza, but I understand they do a super lasagna and cheesesteak sandwich. Today they had about about a dozen different flavors of gelato that they make themselves from ingredients shipped in from Sicily. Best I've had in Houston. Not only do they deliver for free with a $20 order, they are BYOB. Bring a bottle of wine and there's no corkage fee and they provide the wine glasses. Heck of a deal. If you like New York style pizza or would like to experience what a real New York pizza tastes like, this is the place!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I decided to try the new Luigi’s Pizzeria location on Bissonet at Newcastle. It is owned by the same family that has the midtown Luigi’s on Almeda. We’ve had good pizza at Almeda – just like good NJ pizza (we are from NJ). It also has excellent artisanal gelato.
The new location is clean and pleasant with attentive staff. Prices are reasonable. We ate there rather than ordering out. Instead of pizza we decided to have the homemade lasagna which was recommended. As a dinner item, it came with a very nice small salad and bread sticks. The lasagna was the best I’ve had in Texas. What made it very good was the sauce which is housemade Bolognese. OMG it was delicious. The staff assured me the sauce takes 36 hours to prepare. I still dream of that dish. They also have the same artisanal gelato and it was delicious also. We definitely will be going back.

MY REVIEW: I took two friends and a bottle of good red wine to Luigi's for a first visit and we split a 16" Supreme, anchovies on my slices. What a tremendous food experience! The pizza is terrific! We ordered side salads and they were fresh and scrumptous. The gelato was good, too! I think this might very well be the best pizza I've had in Houston. Tonight I ordered something similar from my other favorite, C*andelari's, for comparison. I'll come back and report the results. Meanwhile, get thee to Luigi's. You simply can't go wrong.

MY REVIEW: This was my first visit to Luigi's and it won't be my last.
I was born in Brooklyn, and grew up in Long Island, but when we moved to Houston in 1970 when I just turned 10, and about the only thing I miss from NY is great pizza. Over the years I have found a few pizza joints that came close to pizza you would get from a vendor in NY, but Luigi's was like I was on Kings Hiway, walking into the big Macy's with a couple of slices in my hand. From the perfect crust, to the natural oils from the buffalo mozzarella cheese dripping down your hand, this pizza was simply the best.
And besides pizza, they also have pretty darn good gelato too. I wish it could have been italian ices, something that is also tough to find in the south, but very good none the less. Mama's lasagna, good salads and other great items are on the menu also.
All in all, this is a find, and I will become a regular as well.

MY REVIEW: Strong points: service, food (all types), cleanliness
specialties: I love the Mexicana chicken pizza. They serve you the specialties by the slice meaning you don't have to take the whole thing home of the same flavors. Ambiance: great! Patio seating, great for hanging with friends, or having a quiet corner for you and a sweetheart.
In conclusion: The food is great, the location is great, the prices are PERFECT and you can't do much better for good, tasteful, not-too-thin-not-too-thick-crusted-pizza- with-a-light-not-too-greasy-sauce-with-a-perfect-balance of-cheese-and-toppings pizza.

MY REVIEW: Really good pizza.
Hubby and I shared the Luigi pizza- Alfredo with Buffalo Mozzarella cheese and mushrooms- excellent.
I ordered the eggplant lasagna- very good (lunch the next day) the bread sticks were pretty lame.
I tasted the Nutella gelato- very good.
Fast, inexpensive, and delicious

MY REVIEW: Always on the prowl for NY style pizza, I decided to give Luigi's a try. The location is on the edge of mid-town and to some may be a little sketchy. The small bocce court on the patio is a nice touch. In my opinion, less is more when it comes to pizza and I believe a good pie doesn't require tons of toppings to be good. The foundation of any pizza is the crust. Luigi's is slightly above average, with some crunch on the bottom, but I would prefer a chewier interior. The sauce is also above average and I would say the cheese was nice and creamy. Now, you may come to the conclusion that this is a bad review, but I quite liked the place. The staff is attentive and friendly. You can't beat the price and you can bring a bottle of wine. To top it all off they have a good selection of gelati. I'll be back.

MY REVIEW: Strong Points: Good price, decent chicken wings, pizza by the slide.
Weak Points: taste of pizza is mediocre, ingridients are not that fresh (If you always order from pizza h*ut or d*omino's; then, it is for you).
I'd rather go elsewhere when i crave for pizzas, but it is a good place for cheap eat.

MY REVIEW: Great pizza, exceptional customer service and would definitely recommend to friends. Good value and we got very swift delivery. Have had pepperoni pizza and most recently, the Caprese pizza. Awesome New York style flavor and crust like you'd get in Brooklyn!

MY REVIEW: After living in the Houston area for the past year, my search for a "real" pizza has finally ended. This place is great! Thin, crisp crust. Quality cheese. Fresh toppings (although nothing beats a plain cheese pie). This place is better than that "coal oven place" on 290 @ Hwy. 6.
Service is great. Owner is super nice and accomodating.
Funky, fun paint colors inside (very clean), nice, spacious patio outside.
Anyone from the NYC/New Haven CT areas will agree that this is what a pizza should taste like.

MY REVIEW: Girlfriend and I went to Luigi's and got 2 slices of Pepperoni Pizza, 1 slice of Cheese Pizza, Luigi's salad (comes with breadsticks), and their Hazelnut Chocolate Gelato.
They serve pizza by the slice, and make whole pies, but have a variety of other food on the menu. Delicious food all-around, service was great, employees are nice (especially the owner). Gelato is great (italian ice cream). Not too expensive, would definitely recommend.
