Napa Grille Urban Wine Bar (CLOSED)

14019 SW Fwy Ste 101Sugar Land

14019 SW Fwy, Sugar Land, Texas

MY REVIEW: 1st time there and we will DEFINITELY go back. We sat at the bar--also a good choice. Our bartender,Kevin, was attentive and friendly. When music by "Reflex" started we stayed where we were. We chose to eat dinner at the bar--also a 1st- as we did NOT want to miss one moment of the music. This may have been our 1st visit but as long as the quality of the food remains of high AND "Reflex" plays again we will be back--this time with friends.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I, and another couple, chose to eat here on a Friday evening since it had been recommended. The atmosphere was great, the band was very good. However, we were seated at a different table than the one we reserved. They did correct this. Had to wait 15 minutes before getting the wine list and another 10 minutes to order. Our server was very slow, and was perspiring profusely. Not something you want to see in a restaurant - fine dining or not. Our food came out cold. I asked for a new meal, a warm one. I had the filet mignon, and our server asked if I wanted it "nuked". I like my meat medium rare! The second time around, the meat was warm and very tasty. The vegetables and potato were cold again! We talked to the owner, to no avail. All she said is she would look into it, no apology or concern. She had spent her whole time at the bar drinking wine and visiting with her friends. We will not go back to this establishment. There are too many other good places to go to in the neighborhood.

MY REVIEW: Our first time there. Although we had heard various reports, we thought we would give it a try. We arrived at our reserved time, 6:30 PM. Were immediately seated, but waited about 15 min before getting water and giving our wine order. The published marquet outside advertised lobster/steak combo with half off a bottle of wine. At approx 7:15 our order was taken only to find they were out of the steak & lobster. They should have prepared for all published orders to be given until closing. Especially to those who had reservations. The best part of our meal was the baked potato! Although the atmosphere was pleasant and close by we probably won't go back. Too many good and attentive restaurants in our area.

MY REVIEW: VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

We went here for my wife Birthday and will not go back. The service was very slow but what made matters worse was the food was cold! For three people, our sides were cold. I heard/saw other tables sending their food back for cold food. They did offer to make my wife a new plate. You would think that you would make sure that plate was hot. Her side was cold again. The waiter slams down the menu and they bring her another side that seemed to be "nuked".

MY REVIEW: My wife and I go there often. Great food and good service. While there are a few regular items we usually order, we have never had a bad meal. Napa Grille has a wide variety of menu items available. Monday and Tuesdays they have specials and other nights they have live music. It's definitely worth trying.

MY REVIEW: Wine portions are small compared to size ot the glass. Entertainment was great. The musicians were friendly and played a variety of music. The music made dining a pleasure.

MY REVIEW: Our first visit to Napa Grill. We were seated immediately but had to wait 15 minutes to order a glass of wine. Decent selection but they give you a small amount of wine in your glass for what you pay for. We enjoyed the music but they need to turn it down a little, almost impossible for a dinner conversation. We split the spicey shrimp, delicious and a nice size portion. Might suggest as an improvement is to offer bread and grated cheese.

MY REVIEW: First of all, the food is excellent!! We had the stuffed mushrooms to start, and they were the absolute best we've ever had. I had the salmon and my wife had the pork loin, and we were both very pleased with our choices. The New Age white wine was perfect with the meal. One complaint, though - PLEASE turn the music down! Since it is a small establishment, and has concrete floors and walls, it is quite loud as is. Factor in music turned up too loud and it can be somewhat unbearable. We did ask for it to be turned down and it was, so that was certainly a positive. Welcome to Sugar Land - we will be back!

MY REVIEW: Napa Grille is a great Sugar Land destination!  Based on how busy they were last Friday the secret is out!  They have great outdoor seating which is a nice bonus.  The Lamb Chops, Chicken Marsala and Cheese Platter are our favorites.  Don't miss the great happy hour with wine by the glass for only $5! We will be back again & again!  PS:  The pizzas are great also!

MY REVIEW: Awesome food (really - everyting we've tried!), cute atmosphere, nice entertainment on the weekends. However, this place will die a quick death if they don't make some changes. Several times: if we asked for something, it was completely forgotten, or we were left there at the table for quite some time w/o anyone helping us at all. We love the idea of the place: cozy, friendly "urban wine bar", but they really need to work on their attentiveness to customers. We hope they succeed!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I arrived at this quaint and comforting restaurant from recommendations from several of our neighbors that have frequented this restaurant regularly. We where not disappointed the wines by the glass board had a large selection including a great Petit Shirah that was valued at $5.00 for happy hour. Dinner was also amazing and the Jazz entertainment was wonderful. What a breath of fresh-air to have a restaurant with outside dining of the caliber in Sugar Land.

MY REVIEW: As a neighbor of this new wine bar I was very excited to try it out.

My wife & I went by and had an outstanding meal. Food was priced reasonably and the presentation was nice.

I was however disappointed by the wine list,(actually there isn't a wine list but a wine board). Sure the $5 for Happy Hour wine is cheap, but the wine is at best a $5 bottle. It's more what you would expect at a restaurant that is not catering to wine. The wines in general,(they said they have 100 selections) are very, very average.

I do like the place and would like to see it succeed, it is run by a nice couple, but their lack of wine knowledge shows in the selections they've made.

Advice: Hire a wine manager to better serve your establishment!!!

All in all, Food is good, wine is less than impressive. Bring in some good by the glass selections that I cannot purchase at any Kroger or Randall's!!

MY REVIEW: Very nice little, unpretentious, neighborhood wine bar. $5.00 wines by the glass at happy hour (until 7:00), and very nice looking menu. We ordered just appetizers....the cheese and nut plate which was a huge amount of food, and the filet bites. These were grilled chunks of filet on skewers and were very good. The peppercorn sauce for dipping was delicious! A real bargain for $10. We found that these two appetizers were plenty for us to eat for dinner, but we plan to return soon and try their entrees. The chef/owner and his girlfriend are friendly and welcoming. Great background music also! Nice, relaxing place.

MY REVIEW: Stopped in for lunch. Ambiance, menu selection, staff - very nice. Presentation is top notch.

We got much more than we were expecting. Stuffed mushrooms are amazing. Can't wait to go back and explore more of their great menu. There is something there for everybody.

MY REVIEW: We stopped in opening night and have been back for dinner once since then. The appetizers that were offered opening night were outstanding and was a nice teaser to get us to want to come back for dinner. When we returned for dinner and some wine, we noticed they added quite a few more bottles to their nice collection. Very nice eclectic choice of wines, something for everyone. We tried the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer which were out of this world and both of our entrees were so good, we finished every last bite! We will definitely be returning to this cozy new wine bar in our neighborhood, maybe even try the patio seating on the next trip.
