III Forks
1201 Fannin St, Houston, Texas 77002
MY REVIEW: Recently at lunch our group of 18 dined at 3 Forks. I have not poled the whole group, but my husband & I really loved it. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was outstanding.
"Manny" was the waiter at our table but it seemed that he was backed up by at least a half dozen others. Excellent service the menu was interesting ..... it was well priced and the food was very very good. Could not have been a better outing.
I hope we go again soon!

MY REVIEW: 2nd time in a week, this place is our new watering hole, as seasons ticket holders at the theatre, the III Forks courtesy shuttle is an unbelievable hidden treasure. Have a great dinner and drinks and get chauffered to the theatre, what a service. Make sure you get Joel, truly one of the best waiters in Houston. He has made it a point to make us feel welcome, and treated us like royalty. In a town of great eateries, this place stands out for the both service and food. Finally downtown houston is starting to become the cultural gem we all die hard houstonians knew it was."

MY REVIEW: My first visit to III Forks and certainly not my last! The food was outstanding and service was uncompromising. Our server, Esteban, was so attentive and willing to go the extra mile. Boy did they hit it out of the ballpark with the 14oz Bone-In Filet Mignon! Absolutely delicious! My friend had a Bone-In Ribeye that was fantastic, and I'm not even a ribeye kind of person. It's a beautiful restaurant with a great staff and I can't wait to return!

MY REVIEW: Once again, a steak place with high expectations that went downhill from the first moment.
Started with the Onion ring appetizer. Breading is very heavy and was grossly undercooked as the color of the breading was still white in places. Mentioned this casually to the waiter saying "i did not know what to expect with these" and did not get much of a reaction. Scallops, however, were better, but seemed overcooked and like rubber.
Steak was a bone-in ribeye which was somewhat flavorful but medium well on one half and rare on the other half. Terribly overseasoned and salty. Rice pilaf had to be the most bland I have ever tasted in my life. To give some credit, the baked cheese potatoes were actually the best part.
Bread was not half bad but why is nearly frozen butter served with bread?
Dessert was not had as we should have stopped after the appetizer.
We were told this was the premiere steakhouse in Houston as announced by our waiter we when sat down. Hardly.
Have been to several high level steakhouses in Houston and this one should get "one fork" and definitely not "three" for a rating.

MY REVIEW: We were in search of steak in an adult atmosphere..we found it! We chose to sit in the bar area, as opposed to the carpeted dining area; much quieter as the celing is higher, and the decor was comfortable sleek, high end and sexy, without being stuffy.
We will never go here again Without making sure we are sitting in JOEL's section--what a great waiter! he was informative, helpful, and has a wonderfully dry humor that kept us smiling all evening. We had a seafood medley appetizer, wedge salad and excellent ribeye, with suateed spinach and 4 cheese potatoes. All of it was great; they were gracious about our sharing plates, and separately plated our portions, without giving us "fisheye" look that we get at some restuarants; we enjoy food, but don't like to stuff ourselves, and it leaves room for an after dinner drink or dessert!
The only negative we had, of Any kind, was that the bread is not warm and it is very unremarkable; not good in texture or taste, which is odd, since everything else is Top Notch in all regards. Without a doubt, one of the best steaks we have had in a long time!
Three Forks is good for a special occasion, or just a relaxing dinner, or good time with friends or visitors. we will Definitely be going back!

MY REVIEW: The best part of the place was the service. The food was also excellent. The steak came out just right and for the type of restaurant it is, the prices were fairly reasonable. The ambiance was top notch. Because it was my birthday, we had a special room and that was quite nice. Everyone got exactly what they ordered and everything came out hot and fast. This is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to in Houston.
