MY REVIEW: What a treat! A friend and neighbor told me about this restaurant and we are all very pleased after dining there. The quality and variety of tapas is very good. I have to agree with the reviewer who stated that for South Shore residents we FINALLY have an alternative to seafood and mexican restaurants. I have lived in the SS area for 10 years and this restaurant is great. For an area with higher end homes, we certainly have a dearth of nice dining establishments. No more trips to Houston on the w/e in order to have a good tapas experience.

The environment and menu is more adult friendly. Sauces are described on the menu or one could certainly be proactive and ask the waiter if one is not familiar with whether the sauce is hot or not. Personally, I enjoy an environment that is more adult focused as I truly do not want to spend my dinner hour listening to screaming kids (love kids but not the parents who aren't courtesy enough to remove the child and thus not disrupt other diners.) I highly recommend this restaurant and hope you enjoy your experience.

MY REVIEW: Very good food, I will be back several times, food compares to tapas I've had in Barcelona Spain and Old San Juan Peurto Rico. People working there couldn't be friendlier. The prices for the food are not high, unless your comparing to a fast food place. Overall Iv'e never been more excited about a restaurant being so close to where I live.

MY REVIEW: We love this place, have visted with several friends who all enjoyed the food. Favorites are the appetizers: fried asparagus, fried avocado, lambchops (great sauce) and stuffed mushrooms. The churassco filet was wonderful, and the salmon, two entrees we have tried so far. My fav dessert, the apple empanada, and several enjoyed the tres leches.

Randy is a great host-owner (even gave me an extra empanada to take home on our first visit), so nice to have a new and unique place to dine in the area.

Not sure of the negative reviews comparing this to Spain...it is in Kemah!!!

We will definitely return and bring more friends.

MY REVIEW: Ok I'll agree with some of you guys it is a bit pricey, but I think the food is scrumptous! The menu is a bit odd at first but there is nothing I've eaten there (tried over 15 tapas) that was bad or that I wouldn't finish. The fresh ceviche was good, my favorite dish is the Aguacate del Mar. Very knowledgeable waiter. Best thing is to take a group of friends and everyone order 2 tapas a piece and share.

MY REVIEW: Agree with majority of other negative reviews. Tapas were a bit pricey at avg $7. Ordered a number of cold seafood dishes, and was disappointed in each of them. Octopus not at all fresh. Sardine dish was not what was described on the menu - complained, and got another sardine dish but not the one on the menu (lacked anchovies). Empanada dish was described as empanaditas - which means small empanadaS (plural). Came out as one large empanada, and was swimming in a spicy sauce that wasn't described on the menu. This sauce made the empanada soggy and was too spicy for my wife. A replacement order (pork skewers) came out with more of the spicy sauce - again not described on the menu. Had same reaction with morcilla as previous reviewer - was kind of exicited to see if it actually was a blood sausage - only to find out it was just simple chorizo.

Bartender a little rough around the edges - good service to us at the bar, but witnessed some decisions on serving old (sour) drink mix by adding some pineapple juice to it. If you go and order liquor/wine, be sure and sit at the bar to make sure you get what you ordered!

MY REVIEW: So glad to have something other than another Mexican restaurant in the area! And a good restaurant to boot! I can not honestly say it is the best tapas restaurant I have ever been to, and may not be able to validate the 'Spanish' authenticity of any dishes, but I can verify that they have good food for good prices. We have been 3 times so far, and plan on going back.

Tapas from $4-$12 - and generous portions; lunch entrees from $5 - $14 ranging from tuna salad sandwiches to spicy chipotle shrimp to grilled tenderloin tips; dinner entrees from $16 - $29 ranging from lamb to lobster & rabbit to filet mignon. There's also a Sunday brunch that since so few people are aware of at the moment, you almost have to yourself: the regular menu PLUS a brunch menu from $2 - $8. We have some tapas that are favorites that we have a hard time branching out from and some that we've discovered was not our 'cup of tea' - go for yourself and pick your own faves. Formerly P*hil's Oyster Bar, we couldn't be happier about the transformation.

MY REVIEW: What an interesting addition to the South Shore area! The place is friendly and comfortable though the food is hit or miss. I expected higher quality Spanish cheeses and not something I could get down at Kroger. However, the sobresada sausage is delicious (after you peel off the layers of stale water table crackers) as is the chorizo and beef skewers. The olive oil dipping sauce is addictive.

Hopefully the kitchen will pull it together; we really need this kind of restaurant out here!

MY REVIEW: This is ridiculous, either folks are not familiar with good eating from Spain or the retaurant Owner and/or his employees & friends are using this review section for their own "free" commercial by writing their own (exagerated) reviews, cause isn't it a coincidence for their latest review to be written a day after I wrote mine. "searching for authentic tapas" Obviously they know nothing about Spain. Yes, Portions were just right BUT too highly priced!

Why don't you try "R*ioja Tapas" off Westheimer they more authentic but also pricy. Or T*io Pepe at Bellaire, also authentic and less expensive. Both these places have Spanish (from Spain) Chefs.

MY REVIEW: I loved this experience. The staff was helpful and right on spot. The food was excellent. Portions are just right for someone who just wants to try different things. My husband and I ordered 6 dishes and loved them all.

For months I have been searching for an authentic tapas bar in this area and saints alive, La Tapa Tapa is it. Great cozy restaurant.

And during happy hour they have $2 tapas!!!

I will be going back here time and time again to sample things I never would dare to order as a full size meal.

MY REVIEW: Sorry, this place is nothing compared to Spain. Octopus straight out of a can (NOTE: due to the fact the octopus slices were still stuck to each other on tha plate), Morcilla that is not morcilla, but fried slices of bratwurst & pork pieces, I don't think they know what morcilla is which is a "black" colored Spanish boudin (blood sausage). The potatoe tortilla looked like a pancake too thin to be Spanish tortillas (omelette) which is usually at least an inch or more thick, etc. etc. Except for the shrimp garlic, I did not see or taste anything that may resemble Spain or Spanish cuisine. Most dishes came out with "crackers" instead of bread (not Spanish)!!! Some crackers were even stale! The wine was good and from Spain, pricy but good!

If the owners follow advise from the customers, maybe he will be succesful and pack up the place someday.

Cause I for sure will not be back unless he redoes his menu or kitchen.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I just went last night with 2 other couples and it was fantastic. Everything we ate was great. Portions were a lot bigger than we expected. You could easily get away with 3 different tapas selections between two people. There were 6 of us, we ordered $100 worth of wine and drinks and the total tab was only $200! We will be back

MY REVIEW: This is a great addition to the Clear Lake dining choices. The tapas is authentic and delicious. The service is very good. I recomend this restaurant to anyone wanting a change from the normal choices in this area.

MY REVIEW: Wow...this place is really good. Portions, prices, flavor.....everything was excellent. This is the old "P*hil's Oyster Bar." The menu is very extensive, food is delicious and prices are fair. Lobster Bisque to die for, lamb chops, shredded beef served with pita slices. So glad to finally see a good restaurant in League City.
