Profile Description: Capriccio is a world-class restaurant in northwest Houston offering a unique blend of high quality food, superb service and attention to detail. We not only offer an unbelievable culinary experience but a place to truly relax and enjoy life. Our menu focuses on Spanish cuisine (tapas and main dishes) but also includes some elements of great Italian cuisine (Pizzas, Pastas). Our pizzas are authentic Italian made in our brick wood-burning oven.
MY REVIEW: Love this place!!!! Will do anything to keep it open in our area!!
I have dined here twice and the food is really, really good. My only issue was both times we had to request bread. At any previous place, when tapas were served with a sauce or oil or whatever, bread was always served along with it. I was hoping the first time was an oversight of the waiter, but it happened again. I know they haven't been open that long, so maybe this is something they are working out. I understand not serving every table bread because some folks may not want it, but I feel the waiter should at least ask.....
I hope they get their liquor license soon, or at least not run out of the "house" wines like last night.
Anyway, I still love the place and will certainly be returning in the near future!!!

MY REVIEW: Great new BYOB restaurant. We had a group, so were able to try about 15 of the tapas dishes. Every dish was presented in an elegant way - and all were incredibly tasty! Service was a little off - dishes accumulated on the table, not cleared in a timely manner. We had to ask for new (clean) plates after "round 2". We figure this problem will be corrected with time. We all agreed that we would visit this restaurant again... soon!

MY REVIEW: My husband and I went to Capriccio's for our 19th anniversary. We like paella and are constantly on the lookout for new places. We ordered 3 tapas to start off.Hongos Rellenos (mushroom stuffed with crabmeat) very moist and tasty. The Chorizo al Vino did not do the spanish chorizo justice, it was slightly tough and overpowered by the wine.We did get to taste the chorizo when it was in the paella and the flavor was marvelous which confirmed my thoughts about the tapas chorizo. The third tapas was calamari sauteed in a tomato base..GREAT!
The paella was a bit of a disappointment. The individual flavors of the clams (fresh and sweet),mussels, (cooked perfectly), shrimp (great flavor, very fresh)chorizo (wow!!!) and chicken (tender) were tops. But, the rice was sticky, not fluffy anf burned to the bottom of the paella pan.
I understand this preparation can depend on who is cooking on that night.
We brought a bottle of sangria and had a very nice waiter.
Capriccio's can be a bit loud but overall very good and affordable

MY REVIEW: Capriccio's great atmosphere is accompanied by the best Tapas I have had in a very long time. Each Tapa dish is cooked to perfection with many different flavored dishes available. The croquettas, salmon, and crab stuffed mushrooms were among my favorites. Also the calamari is fried to perfection-not at all greasy-the best I've had. Not only are they delectable, but the presentation is spectacular. The pizza is to die for with soft white crust and the freshest-of-the-fresh ingredients were used.
The staff was very accommodating, but not bothersome.

MY REVIEW: Four of us decided to meet for dinner at this new Tapas restaurant in the Northwest Houston/Jones Road-FM1960 area. It was a wonderful evening dinner, if not a bit challenging to enjoy the dinner conversation due to the noisey background of many other diners and a large birthday celebration in an adjacent private dining room. The menu has an excellent selection (6+ pages, I think...) of foods to choose from, including many traditional Spanish Tapas (Seafood, Cheese, Vegetables, Beef, Chicken, Pork, etc.), as well as some interesting combinations of traditional Italian fare (Panninis, Pizza, etc.).
My personal favorites were the "Pinchos de Pulpito" (Baby octopus grilled with herbs) and a flash-fried Calimari with Sundried tomatoes. My wife's favorites were "Manchego Frito" (Fried Cheese Sticks) with Green Sauce, and "Gambas en Camisa" (Lightly breaded and fried shrimp over fried sweet onions).
Calling ahead to make reservations for 7:00 pm on Saturday evening, we learned that Capriccio Tapas doesn't yet have its liquor license, but you can bring your own bottle(s) of wine to accompany your meal for a $7 corkage fee. Our friends brought 2 bottles of wine, and the 4 of us shared 12 tapas with the wine over a 2-1/2 hour dinner. And our bill was just under $100 (before tip); quite reasonable for such wonderful dinner. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful, if not readily available at all times due to the busy Saturday night dining crowd.
The owner/chef circulated the tables at mid-evening to personally solicite feedback from his customers. He is a retired computer executive, originally from Peru, embarking upon "another life and career...," as he described it. This is a wonderful restaurant, that should become more popular (and crowded...) as the word gets out in the coming weeks and months. I suggest you go there soon, before it gets too crowded. We will definitely return soon!

MY REVIEW: We seek out tapas restaurants in Houston and whenever we travel and we loved this place! The service was attentive w/o being overbearing. More importantly, the selection of 7-10 tapas we ordered, from seafood to sausages, meats and potatoes, were prepared perfectly. It's rare to find baby octopus and the mussels were the plumpest and sweetest we've ever had. If we were trying to be critical, we wouldn't be able to find anything to complain about. We expect to be regulars.
The restaurant expects to have its alcoholic beverage license soon and the corkage fee for the wine we brought was waived.
Two requests to the owner that will make the tapas menu even better: please fine a good supplier for fresh sardines and consider adding more vegetables to the menu. Items such as grilled vegetables and roasted tomatoes would be great.

MY REVIEW: great restaurant with amazing service. they do not have their liquer license yet so take a couple bottles of wine when you visit. manager (believe his name was jordan) helped out and made everything exceptional. he enlightened us a lot on what tappas are and the style of eating that goes with it. apparently, they have a 5 star kitchen that comes from a 5 star steak house somewhere closer in town. overall, we had a great time and i would recommend this place to anyone!

MY REVIEW: Love Love Love this place. The tapas are wonderful and very flavorful. So nice to order small plates of many dishes. Everything was great. We sampled shrimp, salmon, calamari, chirizo, potatoes, mushrooms, meatballs. On our previous visit we ate a few tapas and split one of the pasta dishes - great meal.
Atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is very knowledgable about each dish. We left feeling full and satisified but not overly stuffed. It was PERFECT.

MY REVIEW: This place is GREAT! We went and ordered 13 tapas for 4 of us to share (just like we do in Barcelona) and they were all fantastic. The fried tapas were all perfectly cooked (not oily), the patatas bravas were spicy and delicious, the gazpacho was excellent, and the seafood was wonderfully fresh even though we went on a Monday night! No liquor license yet so BYOB until sometime in August apparently. The waiter was lovely (Donald) and very knowledgable. Please try this place out, we need to keep it open so I can get my tapas fix without having to drive all the way into Houston!

MY REVIEW: We enjoyed a lovely meal at Capriccio this evening. We arrived early, were promptly greeted and escorted to our table. Our waiter was friendly and courteous. We ordered the Plato Frio and Calamari from the tapas menu along with a Pizza Margherita. The calamari was cooked perfectly (not tough) and the pizza from the wood-fired oven was simple and delicious. A drizzle of olive oil would have made it heavenly. We thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu for dessert. Capriccio is awaiting a liquor license later this month. In the meantime they offer BYOB for a small fee. We're looking forward to visiting again to work our way through the tapas menu!
