MY REVIEW: being from the friendswood area it was worth the drive. it was our first coal-fired pizza, but we will be back for more. the tomatoe/cream based soup was excellent with the portion size that my wife could not finish it. my sausage pizza was excellent also. add this to our "worth the drive" places.

RESPONSE: For those of you that do not like it "burnt" you are always welcome to tell your waiter to not burn it. Ask your waiter to tell our pizza guys to cook it on a screen. This can help a lot!

MY REVIEW: This is our second time visiting Russo's and we'll definitely be coming back for more. This time we had the New York Chop salad that was big enough to serve an army and our pizza was cooked perfectly. Great job.

MY REVIEW: Very nice resturant new and clean. My pizza was burnt at the bottom. My friends said it suppose to be like that because it's a coal oven, so I ate it. It did taste burnt and I really didn't like it but I ate it anyways cause I was hungry. I was kind of disappoint but will try Russo again some other time the wait staff was really cool.

MY REVIEW: OMG!!! This pizza ROCKS!!! Only charcoal fired pizza in Houston. I had the Greek pizza and my friend had something she concocted herself. Both were GREAT. I have had pizza in Italy several times and this comes the closest to genuine Italian pizza. Great little wine bar also. Our waitress looked young, so of course, I had reservations about "high school" wait staff but she was very good and kept a close and often eye on us without being bothersome. I went from West Houston to Northwest Houston to experiment with this little gem and I was not disappointed.
Will be back!! Keep up the good work!

MY REVIEW: Excellent pizza, nice and crispy with black crust from the coal! Yum! If you like wood, coal fired pizza this is the place for you. If you don't like your crust burned, go to D*ominoes you don't deserve a real pizza!

MY REVIEW: Great decor, seemed like decent staff, the food was the best pizza I've had in years. The crust is nice and crunchy, the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and the overall taste was heavenly. I've found a great pizza place on the NW side of town, YAY!

MY REVIEW: I have been there at least three times. I love there garlic-cheese bread. It is coal fired. On the bottom its golden brown. We got it as an appetizer and it was soooo good we ordered a second one.
My husband ordered the cucumber salad and said it was fanastic. Then the coal fired pizza came. It was to die for. It was great. We are original from Chicago and we are alwayd looking for good places to eat. This was it!
I thought the prices went right along with good and the portion sizes of the food was great also.
My only disappointment was we got so full I couldn't order one of those cakes for dessert so on the way out I stopped at the counter and got a piece to go.

MY REVIEW: Visited on Friday evening when there was a half-hour wait to be seated. It's still a work-in-progress for both food and service. While waiting to be seated, I watched them pull a pizza out of the oven, then feed it directly to a trash can. After being seated, we ordered appetizers. The breaded and baked buffalo-mozzarella wasn't bad, but it might have been nice to have had plates. I forget the name of it, but there was a meat-based pizza we ordered that had sausage and Canadian bacon on it. The toppings tasted great, but the crust was soggy towards the center. Between the two appetizers and two pizzas we ordered, there were hints of how good it would taste had they gotten it right. They'll have some good pizzas when they do.

MY REVIEW: I was excited about going here. Nice looking place. Had a slice of cheese. Like previous review I thought it could have had more cheese for the price. I'd still go back to check out the other things on the menu. Salads looked good.

MY REVIEW: Fantastic food. Every appetizer, every pizza and every dessert I've had has been fantastic. Only complaint is that they started out with the absolute best spinach/artichoke dip I've ever had in my life (I'm almost 50!) and then recently they started to blend it so that it was like eating creamed spinach. Hopefully they'll go back to original recipe. Other than that absolutely nothing from the menu has disappointed me. The wait staff is young and inexperienced and could use some training in the little things that add to service and atmosphere (like could we have a serving utensil and plates with the appetizers?!). Then it would be the Perfect Pizza Place! We will definitely continue to go back!

MY REVIEW: got a cheese pizza and a salad to go. being from NY the pizza was pretty good but didn't have enough cheese. this is one of the reason we quit going to N*Y Pizzeria in Meyerland Plaza area. i will give it another shot.

MY REVIEW: Nice decor in the place with a friendly staff, although a bit new at their jobs. The Pizza was pretty darn good. I'd suggest asking them to cook it a little bit longer for a crisper crust, which is what the Coal firing is supposed to be famous for. Prices are not on the cheap side, but I wouldn't call them outrageous either. We will be going back.
