MY REVIEW: I work across the street from this restaurant and have eaten there at least 10 times, but I am done with this place. I would say at least 7 out of the ten times I've been to this restaurant, I have had my order misplaced or not submitted to the kitchen at all. The 1st time the Mgr comped my next meal, but the problem getting my food has been the only thing consistent about this place.
On my last visit I ordered the Redfish Ponchartrain. In the past when I ordered this it was a nice generous portion, but this last time it was the size of a large fish stick and tasted like one too and for $15.99 that's hardly a bargain. And lo and behold they misplaced my order yet again. If you don't mind waiting all day for your food, like frozen fish sticks and don't mind paying a fortune for them, you've found the right place here.

MY REVIEW: This was only my 2nd time eating here and this time I brought my husband.Who by the way happens to be a finicky eater.. But when I mentioned that they sold ox tails he was ready to go. I had the fried catfish and shrimp and it was seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of spice. My husband however saw the menu and scrapped the tails for the platter of crawfish, shrimp, oysters and stuffed shrimp. All he could say to me during dinner was nothing he never looked up from his plate and i would say thats a plus... Overall the food is delicious, the portions are hearty and the atmosphere is very pleasent.. I cant wait to go back...

MY REVIEW: Excellent gumbo. My family is from Mamou, Louisiana...deep in the heart of Cajun country. I've had my fair share of authentic gumbo and you can tell that the owners know what they are doing.
Very clean, big open space, and friendly staff.

MY REVIEW: the restaurant is huge inside. it is clean and inviting. we (a group of 6)ordered a number of items and although some items were good, not everything was consistent.
the wings, oyster poboy and stuffed jalapenos were very salty. the gumbo was good, but they served it with under cooked rice. the oxtails were very tasty in a rich brown gravy. the steamed boudin links were really good. they were served with dirty rice. i had the blackened chicken salad and it was good. the chicken had a lot of flavor and the mixed greens were fresh. the "swamp thing" frozen daiquiri was really good. the service was great.
so these are my thoughts. not sure if i will be back any time soon. i'm still detoxing from all the salt i ate last night.

MY REVIEW: I work down the street from this restaurant and decided to give it a try, because it is new to the area. Overall all I would give it a 7. I didn't care for the self serve set up, because when a co-worker and I first walked in, no one directed us to where we needed to go so we sat down, not knowing we needed to order at the counter. But a nice hostess came to our table to take our order. Afterwards that's when we realized we it was self served, because we saw other people going straight to the counter to order. After making conversations with the hostess and the manager, the made me feel really comfortable, and the manager apologized for any confusions. He explained the establishment had just opened and needed to work out a few kinks.. I was pleased.
I ordered an assortment of wings because it was happy hour, and for an entree the blackened chicken w/etoufee. The wings were good, the chicken was okay. I think the etoufee would have tasted better over the fish. But it wasn't bad, just different. Overall I don't mind going back because I want to try the oxtails next and get some more of the delicious wings..

MY REVIEW: My entire family is from New Orleans, and we love this place! This place is great! We've taken big parties on 3 different occasions and have never been disappointed! Each time we've gone during Friday's Happy Hour, which is a great deal! The macaroni and cheese is TO DIE FOR! For $1.49 you get a more than generous portion and it's by far the best I've ever had. We've also tried the mardi gras pasta, boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, garlic bread, red beans and rice, gumbo, boudin, wings, seafood enchiladas, macaroni and cheese, various drinks, and oysters. The only thing we wouldn't order again is the seafood enchiladas. Try the swamp thing, also! A $7 drink on sale at happy hour for $4. Be careful not to have too many though!
Justin (Manager) and Mike (Owner) are both very nice and very hospitable. Friday nights is a busy crowd, people going out to eat before they hit the bars and clubs. They have a live DJ, so it's pretty loud, but fun. If you want a more subtle crowd, go during the week. :) Highly recommended.

MY REVIEW: If you want a celebration to take place in your mouth, this is the place for you! From an unassuming exterior and few 'Louisiana' decorations inside, you don't get much of an impression that this is THE place to get phenomenal Cajun cuisine. Even though it was a self-serve set up, the manager came out to seat and serve our group. Being originally from Louisiana himself, his excellent suggestions helped to make ordering a breeze. At our table of 8, we made a wide variety of choices from the menu, mine being the Cajun pasta with blackened chicken on top. The spices in the sauce were spectacular. It was served with a delicious large half-baguette covered in garlic butter. The other people in our party ordered other items and reported the same delicious results. Even one with a dress shirt and tie ordered the crawfish and crabs and had the sauce down to his elbows and all over his shirt - but didn't care! It was so good.
If you want to overload your taste senses - even during a lunch rush - this is the place for you!

MY REVIEW: We tried this place for happy hour, and took advantage of the discounts on the wings, oysters, and shrimp. All were very good (we tried the Mama's Wings). We also tried the crawfish etoufee, and it was very tasty. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and attractive. Hope this cajun restaurant survives in the middle of Chinatown!
