MY REVIEW: We did not make a reservation & nobody recommended this restaurant to us - we just went on a whim for our 15 year anniversary. We walked in & were seated immediately. The hostess was okay - not very professional. The restaurant was nice, rustic, you could dress up (which we did) or dress down (I would think jeans & a collared shirt would be perfectly appropriate).

Our waiter (Matt) was outstanding, attentive, & professional. We were served large, yeast rolls which were fluffy & yummy. I ordered the ribeye cooked medium & it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! It came with a Caesar Salad (perfect size - not too big, not too small) & it was one of the best Caesar Salads I've ever eaten. My meal also came with a side which I chose the Au Gratin Potatoes. My husband & I were both unimpressed with the Au Gratin Potatoes. They were dry & not the same kind of cheese we're accustomed to eating with other Au Gratin Potatoes. My husband ordered the fried shrimp which he LOVED. (Downfall: they do not have tarter sauce, but the waiter offered another type of sauce which was fine, but my husband HAS to have his tarter.) He also had the caesar salad & enjoyed it as much as I did.

We feel that the best side dish was the Homemade Mac & Cheese. Even the waiter said it was amazing & he was right. At first glance, it's unimpressive, but the taste is so cheesy & so creamy - I love my mac & cheese, so my husband & I fought over the last bite. The waitstaff was awesome. Whenever we would have an empty bottle on the table, they would swoop it away without interruption to our table conversation. Water glasses were never empty. The price was awesome for the atmosphere, the professional service, & the delicious food. We will go back without a doubt! (NOTE: They had a sign saying that they will be closed on Mondays beginning 9/7.)

MY REVIEW: We made reservations for 7:30 pm, arrived 10 min early. We could clearly see the table was open, set and ready for our party of 8. Hostess said she would seat us at 7:30... no problem. At 7:30 (according to our cell phone time), we approached the hostess stand and were told it was only 7:26 according to their clock on the credit card machine. We kind of laughed and asked to be seated, they said we'd have to wait till our reservation time. First visit here and this isn't starting out well...

Steaks were excellent (cowboy, filet and strip) and cooked as ordered. Lobster Bisque could be a meal in itself and was incredible. Desserts were on the small side. Service could've been faster, but we were enjoying a family get together. One little pet peeve... why on earth would they attmept an upscale atmosphere with white tablecloths and bring your drinks (tea, soda) with the STRAW IN THE GLASS? Looked a bit hillbilly-ish to me.

Overall, we will return just to see how the staff and service progresses in time.

MY REVIEW: I am in town on business (I travel all over the world) absolutely one of the best places I have ever eaten. The 20oz "Cowboy" bone in rib-eye is fantastic. On my next visit I will try the 10oz bone in filet.

The wait staff is second to none. I will make it a point to eat here anytime I am visiting Houston.

MY REVIEW: Have been twice and each time the same results. Great! The service was good with no excessive waiting. The waiter was on top of his game but not too intrusive. I have had the Prime Rib and the filet. Both of these were wonderful. My wife has had the Pork chop and the New York Strip and her opinion is the same as mine. We have enjoyed The T*aste of Texas and P*appa's Steak House and would put Bertani against either one of them.

MY REVIEW: I have visited The Bertani Ranch Steakhouse a few times, and everytime has been incredible. The service was great and the food is absolutely delicious. I can not say enough about the crawfish beignets!! They are to die for. I have never had anything like them before. I also met the owners and they are very personable and inviting. They talked to me like we were old friends and had known each other for years. Like I said, I have been here a few times, and everytime the owners came over to see how my meal was. That alone shows what kind of people they are and how much the care and actually want you to enjoy your dining experience. Overall, the steak was great, the people were great, and the actuall restraunt was amazing, I will contiue to frequent this establishment and wish them all the best! Thanks to the Bertani Family for opening such a great steak house right on our own backyard!

MY REVIEW: Great Food, Great Service and Great Atmosphere. My husband and I dined with a couple of friends in the bar. We didnt feel out of place or uncomfortable as we both were wearing shorts. The service was right on! Two of us had the seafood gumbo. As a cajun their gumbo was fantastic! Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We couldnt have asked for a better dining experience. I've read alot of the poor reviews and I can assure you the owners must have been reading them as well! Cant wait to go back!

MY REVIEW: Hmmm, strong points... the decor was nice and we were seated quickly.

The bad points... Service was bad. Waited over ten minutes to have our drink order brought to the table, we ordered tea only. And getting a refill took a while too. It was like we were sitting in a vacuum. On to the food. Not great. My wife ordered the ribeye and I the Strip. She ordered her steak medium rare and mine was to be medium. Something somewhere fell apart. My strip was bloody and her ribeye was WELL done. No pink anywhere. I've had better meat at D*enny's. We were so disappointed that we did not send it back. We simply swapped plates. The couple next to us sent a steak back and what came back to the table was just as bad and cold. They were funny. They referred to their server as "Dr. Clueless".

The patrons... For the most part okay but, some had T-shirts, flip-flops and shorts. Seriously? How about a dress code guys?

Our bill... $130 (appetizers included) and we had no wine or mixed drinks.

Summation… we wanted it to be good but we were let down. For the price there are many other steakhouses worthwhile. Until we hear good things we will not visit again. We'll stick with L*ynn's.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I were looking forward to a good steak restaurant almost next door to us. She had plans so I thought this would be a great time to check out the new steak house and in the near future take my wife out for a good steak. It did not happe. I was dressed and groomed, had a shirt with a collar. When I approached the hostess she ask me if she could help me. I said yes I would like a table and she said I could go into the bar but could not go in the main dining room without removing my ball cap. I did not remove my hat for personal reasons and did not go there to eat in the bar. The manager agreed with her but told me to not take it personal. It was personal.

MY REVIEW: Our (wife, son, myself) overall experience at Bertaini Ranch Steakhouse was very poor. If they are trying to compete with Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Smith & Wolensky, et al they have a lot of work to do.

We went on a Saturday night and were promptly seated. The overall service was good; no complaints. I ordered a 14 oz rib eye, my wife ordered a chicken dish and my son ordered crab. My wife said her chicken dish was ok, but wasn't that impressed, as it was served on the cool side. My son enjoyed his crab, but did say it was cold in the middle. It was steamed crab. I ordered my steak medium and it was served well done. I normally don't send food back, but this steak was so overcooked that I really had no choice. One of the managers promptly took it back and brought me a new steak within ten minutes. I was impressed with the way she handled the situation. Unfortunately the second steak was also served well done and cold. I gave up after the second steak. We finished our bottle of wine and left.

Hopefully they will get the kinks worked out, because the idea it great. I don't mind paying $200-250 for a meal at a good steakhouse, but I do expect a dining experience that is consistent with the price range.

MY REVIEW: Sad to say, we were disappointed! As we saw it being built, we couldn't wait as we anticipated the opening. Our take was it was a regular restaurant 'trying' to be upscale. The Texas decor was nice but missing personality. We sat in one of the rooms that overlooks the parking lot & the storage facility next door, our other view was the large partition. Drinks from the bar, were so slow. Overall, the service was disappointing... again, 'upscale prices' with untrained teenagers taking your order. Had to 'ask' for bread several times. Needed drinks refilled several times but had to wait (tea/beer/wine). Salad was mediocre. Steaks were tasty. Sides - okay. I think, we'll just drive into town for 'fine dining' if we're going to spend $200 for dinner. (We had our 10 yr old with us, kid's meal was $15+ & also mediocre).

MY REVIEW: My daughter and I went there on a Monday night. Good service. Crawfish beignets were awesome. Food and atmosphere were very good. I feel this may be a little overpriced for the area. Sweet butter was good with the bread, but the bread needs to be served warm. One starter, 2 orders of the red snapper, and I had one glass of wine. Granted I did tip 20%, but $73 was a bit much. Extra sides are $8, so we opted out! Had plenty to eat without them though. I may go back but only for a special occassion and then for that we usually head downtown.

MY REVIEW: This was our first visit. We are so excited to have this type of restaurant in Cypress. The decor and ambiance are upscale ranch house--very nice. We started with the crab cakes and the portabella mushroom appetizers--both excellent, especially the crab cakes, which were some of the best we've had. We were pleased to see that salads and sides came with each entree. The salads were good but somewhat basic.

Entrees--elk, ribeye and quail were terrific, with excellent textures and flavors. Not so the maple brined pork chop--very dry and tough, including the new one they brought after my wife sent back the first one. The sides were very good, as were the desserts (although the chocolate decadence was too sweet for me).

What really shone was the service. Tim, our waiter, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The woman who helped with our wine selection (I unfortunately did not get her name) suggested a pinot noir we hadn't tried before and it was just delicious. Overall this was a great experience (except for that pork chop) and we will definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Atmosphere--The decor is rustic, totally Texas. I think the fireplace will be really cozy this winter. I fully expected business casual dress with the upscale menu, but I kept seeing people coming in with shorts and tee shirts. Cypress folks may not let them be fine dining!

Food--This is the real focus. We had the wild game appetizer--elk. It was very tasty, with what I think was a cauliflower mousse and a very nice sauce. The cesar salad was typical; but the rolls were delicious! I love how the tops were so shiny, but not greasy. How'd they do that?

I had the filet, hubby had the bone-in filet after the waiter spoke so highly of it. My filet was medium rare instead of medium, but I didn't send it back because I didn't want to wait and then have it overcooked. It was ok. The bone-in filet was great. Very tender and flavorful; only drawback was that it was about $20 more than mine. I liked the fact that each steak came with a side and a salad. So many places do everything a la carte now.

For dessert, we had the chocolate decadence. Definitely too sweet for me, but if you are a choco-holic, this is for you.

Coffee was ok, wines were excellent.

Service--good. We had to wait for our check, but the pace was relaxed overall and we didn't feel rushed even though it got busier after we arrived.

Overall, we liked it and will return, but probably not too soon since we dropped about $135 for two of us, NOT INCLUDING tip and wine.

MY REVIEW: My family and I had our Father's Day dinner at Bertani's. Each course was served on time and together. The steaks were cooked to order and the sides were perfect. My father is still talking about the experience and stated that Bertani's "was the best meal at a restaurant in a long time".

MY REVIEW: We have been so excited to get a upscale steakhouse in Cypress. We visited Bertani Ranch this weekend and it was great. The soups and crab cakes are too die for. My understanding is when they first opened the crab cake was one large one but it's now 2 medium to large with no breading on the inside and perfectly cooked with panko crust and chive infused oil. Steaks were great but the nights special fish dish was fabulous wish I would have ordered it - Red snapper over safron risotto. I have to metion the rolls - huge hot fresh made yeast rolls that are so light and fluffy. Can't comment about dessert we were too full to order. Very nice and extensive wine list also.

MY REVIEW: This place really needs to work out the kinks before being considered anywhere near a "fine dining" experience. I frequent some of the most reputable steakhouses in Houston, and this one is nowhere near up to par. We started with the crabcake...very poor and small for $16.00. They advertise that there is no breading in the crabcake, which may be true, but the texture is very rubbery and dry. Not at all how a lump crabcake without breading should be. I ordered the ribeye, which came out well done even though I'd ordered medium rare. They were very quick in bringing out another one, but the taste was just as though you'd grilled it at home yourself, if that good. Dessert: bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. The texture was too dry and the portion was ridiculously small. All in all, not worth the money by any stretch. For the price, I'd definitely go elsewhere and get prime steak and better service.

MY REVIEW: I visited this restaurant a few days ago and I thought it was just hands down the best food I have had in a long time. The steak was prepared perfectly. It was juicy and tender. The service was nonstop. The servers and others were always on the move helping eachother. All of the food was out ontime and delicious. I would recommend the Bertani Ranch Steakhouse to anyone and I will be returning there soon!!

MY REVIEW: I visited the Bertani Ranch Steakhouse on 2 separate occasions, although it has only been open for a week. I would describe it as a fine dining steakhouse. It is not an in-and-out, fast-service establishment. The atmosphere demands that you spend some time enjoying your food and friends. The restaurant was very busy both times I visited but had ample parking. We were seated within a short time after arriving. The hostesses were pleasant and the service staff was attentive. The most recent visit was Monday. If you enjoy quality food prepared by a professional chef, then definitely dine there.

For Appetizers, we ordered the Grilled Portabella Mushroom and the Crab Cake. Both dishes tasted superb! The mushroom was very hearty (served with a fantastic aioli) and the crab cake was cooked perfectly. Next, we ordered the Seafood Gumbo and the Lobster Bisque. Both soups had an abundance of seafood and were rich and flavorful. A few of my guests don’t normally order soup but after they saw (and tasted) mine they changed their minds! Our entrée selections were the Filet, the Salmon, the Chicken Breast, and the Crawfish Etoufee. I personally sampled all of them. We ordered a medium rare steak that was cooked to order. It was tender and tasted great. The filet was served with a bourbon rosemary demi-glace sauce (on the side)that was spectacular. The garlic mashed potatoes were very creamy and delicious. The Salmon was light and tasty. The Chicken dish was not your average Chicken. It was served with creamy risotto, a rich garlic cream sauce and fresh avocado salsa. It was magnificent! The etoufee was the best etoufee I have ever had (and I have had a lot of it…).

For dessert we all had the crème brule. It was delicious! Our server helped us pair wines with each course. His selections were very appropriate. The owner, Charlie Bertani, visited our table and was very personable. He has definitely got the right food and the right chef to be successful. We are very excited to have this dining experience in Cypress!

MY REVIEW: It's only been open a few days, but was very excited to have this place nearby so we were anxious to give it a try. Unfortunately, this place is NOT ready for prime time. One of the owners came by and introduced himself. Admitted they were working out the kinks, but we felt it was a nice gesture and he was committed to cust service. Well, they have a LONG way to go on ALL accounts.

Service:
Service was VERY poor. -just getting drinks was a challenge.. then appetizers served at different times. One person in our party gave up and finally went and filled up his own tea. During our meal, my wife's side dish didn't come with the meal. She was almost done with her steak. None / Very little apology.

Food:
Food was OK - certainly not anywhere close to exceptional. The 6 at our table all had different dishes - from prime rib, filet, strip, etc. On a good note, all seemed to be prepared correctly, but still not much taste to speak of. One poor note: The steaks were served with a small container of what looked like au jus, it was a sauce that reminds one of frozen dinners of salisbury steak.

Appetizers:
Crawfish beignets were very good (best thing we had). Also ordered the crab cake, only came with one that was extremely small for $16 !

Desserts:
A couple chose the chocolate cake, but the couples did not finish it. We chose the bread pudding. Very small portion (by the way, I'm not a big guy), and mediocre at best.

Bottom line:
Go elsewhere. I hope it gets better. However, my sincere recommendation is that you wait 'til they figure it out before you WASTE (I thought about this word, but there is just no other way to put it) your money. There are just too many other good options that warrant a little farther drive.. So for a party of 6 with a bill of $400 +, we expected much more. Initial kinks are one thing, but zero attention to detail, mediocre pricey food, and poor customer service is no way to serve your neighbors.
