Little Jamaica

MY REVIEW: The food is good, I think they are a little slow with service, but overall the best Jerk since I've visited Jamaica. I would recommend it.

MY REVIEW: This was my 1st visit to Little Jamaica....

I am sure It will not be my last. My mother in Law is visiting from Jamaica and wanted to have Jamaican food. She ordered the Jerk Chicken meal and I ordered the Brown Stew Chicken we also ordered the beef patties, a ginger beer, & vitamalta. She seemed to really enjoy the food, she said "I feel like I am in Browns Town" That had to be a great compliment to Little Jamaica for there are several good restaurants in that area.... The service was a bit slow but I enjoyed the wait time, we met several people with stories of Jamaica...

MY REVIEW: Place seems pretty legit, and the owner is the nicest woman you will meet.

The beef patty was a lil' on the thin side but the flavor was right. Jerk Chicken is the only way I can eat Dark Meat chicken I think - it's that good (It's dark meat only there, No white meat at all - in anything)

The place is grassroots/hole in the wall/cozy, My kinda joint - not somewhere you take a date to impress but somewhere you take friends/long time girlfriend.

The price isn't too bad if you stay away from the drinks, everything is bottled and the cheapest thing is Ginger Beer @ $1.60 a bottle. All the meals are between $10 to $15 and the servings are on point not too much and not too little.

My bill was $17.xx and that was a beef patty, plate of Jerk Chicken, 2 Ginger Beers, 1 Irish Moss Drink.

Overall it's somewhere I will frequent but I'd still like to see what else is out there in the way of Jamaican Food - the food is delicious but I want a fatter beef patty.

MY REVIEW: We drove in from Austin this past weekend for my daughter's soccer games. On the way back we stopped by to eat and take somethings back to Austin since there are no known Caribbean eateries. Cheryl, serves us with a smile and was very patient with the little ones. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the curry goat, my daughter and 6 year old son had the stew chicken and my wife had the curry chicken. We all picked off each others plate and ate our own. We took back some beef patties and coco bread. My lunch is set for the weak. Well at least 'til Tuesday. Thank you Cheryl for making our trip, especially for the little ones, a memorable one.

MY REVIEW: Enjoyed a delicious lunch with friends at Little Jamaica today! Great service in a friendly, casual style at a slower pace than many places. If you're in a hurry, you may be disappointed. I prefer to relax rather than rush, and I don't mind waiting a few minutes for excellent grub.

The food is fabulous! My friends had jerk chicken and curry chicken. I opted to try the ackee and salt fish (Jamaican national dish), and thoroughly loved the light, hint of floral fruit mixed with the salty cod. A perfect marriage of flavors. Tried a bite of my friends' dishes and immediately decided to return to Little Jamaica again so I could order what they had.

Recommend the ginger beer as your beverage. My office is close to this restaurant, so I expect to be back many times for the authentic and charming food, service, and atmosphere.

MY REVIEW: oh my goodness it gets better everytime i go, down home, authentic, clean, nice people. I love the oxtails!! I bring more of my co-workers with me everytime I go. you will not be disappointed, you will be rejuvenated. thanks for giving me a little bit of jamaica in houston!!!!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I love this place. the food is always great. The owners Cheryl & Mervin are very welcoming. And the have the best sense of humor! The music there is always nice! Great for families, first second and third dates... or if your just hungry! I would recommend this place to anyone. Its on the north side of town and so are 1 or 2 other restaurants but this is by far the best hands down! I have no complaints. From the day I first ate there its always been pleasing to my mouth and to my tummy! Thank you little Jamaica for the great food!

MY REVIEW: Man I absolutely love this place!!!! Very clean, family oriented, warm place to enjoy, in my opinion, the best in Houston. I plan to go here on a regular basis no doubt, jerk and brown chicken are breathtaking!!!

MY REVIEW: I absolutely love the service and hospitality you recieve once you walk into the doors. I love the fact that they are on this side of town. Very friendly atmosphere and they even have dominoe tournaments on the weekends. The brown stew chicken had me craving long after eating it, and the jerk is just right. The only drawback is that due to the prices you seem to get very small portions of the meat and you have to order extra plantains which you do not get very many of those either. I wish they would not be so stingy with the meat, they chop it up so it seems like you get a lot but really you get a thigh and maybe a half of a leg.

MY REVIEW: I had a plate of curry goat. The flavor just melted in my mouth. The taste was so good right down to the bone. I ordered a beef patty it was so delicious. I wish I had a plate of their food right now. I cant wait to go back.

MY REVIEW: I happen to move right down the street from this restaurant, little did I know. I am Jamaican and I can attest that they have the best salt fish and ackee this side of Kingston. I never had a bad meal there. The only cons is that the lunch serving is the same as the dinner.

MY REVIEW: I really have nothing to bad to say about this restaurant. Our server was great. The manager checked up on us a couple of times just to make sure we were satisfied. The food is top notch. I suggested this restaurant to five of my co-workers and we decided to eat there. We all ate something different. They enjoyed and so did I. My friends and I can't wait to go back to Little Jamaica.

MY REVIEW: I would have to disagree I eat here almost every day. This is a small family owned business and it shows perfect to bring your family for a family dinner very welcoming, very warm every one very nice. There are several other carrabian restaurants around town and this is by far the best everything is very fresh the chicken literally melts in your mouth, very flavorful and never greasy and as I learned today she doesnt even use grease.... the plantains are very sweet and flavorful. The helpings are very large she never cheats you on the to go box :) unlike other restaurants you always have a second dish left over for later. Would definatly recomend to any and every one great place to eat, and make a new friend!!

MY REVIEW: I come from Brooklyn, NY, most of my friends are west indian. If you dont know Brooklyn is like the little west indies of america. I love west indian food, but I was highly dissapointed. This place is not so good. In my opinion, oxtail is too greasy not enough flavor and the chicken is very dry. Rice hardly has any flavor. On the positive side, the vegetables are good. IF i am desperate enough, I would go back. It seems to be the closest to wear I live
