MY REVIEW: A friend recommended Toro so we decided to give it a try. It was excellent! We had mojitos which were on special for $5 on a Sunday afternoon and they were very authentic tasting and had the fresh mint and lime muddled properly, which is hard to find!
We tried the sky diver roll and the tiger eye roll, both were prepared as ordered and the presentation and portion size was good. They tasted very fresh. We also had the miso soup which was served hot and without chives, just like we requested. We also had the fried banana for dessert. The breading on the banana was just okay, but the vanilla ice cream was very good.
The service was average. There was a large group and it took about 20 minutes for our entree rolls to come out but the staff was very apologetic. Our soup and drinks and dessert were served promptly. They also have a hibachi grill on the other side of the restaurant if you are into that.
The decor of the restaurant is also very contemporary and upscale but their prices are reasonable. They have a patio but it is not covered. It was very hot outside but I'm sure it would be nice on a cooler day. I thought the music they played was a little odd, sounded a bit like country or soft folk. We will be back!

MY REVIEW: Finnaly a nice sushi restaurant in NW Houston. I just moved to the suburbs 5 months ago from Midtown and have been missing the good sushi. My wife and I loved Toro. The prices were fair and the food was excellent. We had the spring rolls for app, and a crunch roll and orange dragon. The rolls were very fresh and nice portion size. Perfect date night spot before you head out. I highly recimmend it.

MY REVIEW: Went on April 26th, Great atmosphere and nice large sushi bar. Everything was clean and we were seated right away. Our waitress was slow to start and didnt get much better. We ordered an appetizer and 2 rolls which were fantastic(NY & Phoenix) but kept being ask if we wanted something else, kinda like being rushed. It was only 9:45pm and they close at midnight so i didnt care for that, waitress sat in the hibachi area on a break where we could see her but we had ordered a beer and it just sat on the bar until she was ready to serve it. I dont care if this place is new, good service is hard to find especially here! Food was great, prices were not bad..may go back, but not for a while.

MY REVIEW: At first I was really impressed with the place. It seemed to be a downtown restaurant but in the Northwest. Unfortunately I couldn't taste the food. I waited an hour for my order and they never made it!!! When I told them I was leaving they not even give me an apology. At least my friend could eat his sushi, but it was too (pricey). And what is more awful that look your friend eating when you are starving! I hope one they they can have more than a look and include good service.

MY REVIEW: This is the first restaurant I've ever taken the time to review - Cheers to whoever is responsible for finally putting a decent sushi restaurant in NW Houston. I have been to every sushi restaurant in the area and not one can come close to Toro. Actually - this restaurant rivals most sushi restaurants I've been to in Houston. Great rolls, great presentation, great quality fish and awesome ambiance. Looking forward going back!

MY REVIEW: We enjoyed dining at Toro. The ambiance was really nice. We could tell they took their time in putting it together. It made you feel you were in a high end japanese restaurant in mid-town with it really being in the suburbs of northwest Houston.
I ordered their seaweed salad but that was ok. Theirs had a twist to it. It had a tart taste to it. We ordered 4 rolls and cleared our plates clean. The presentation is nice and honestly prices not bad. We expected it to be a lot more.
Service was a tad bit slow but I cut them some slack since this was their 3rd week of opening. It was truly worth the wait. I definitely recommend dining here.
