MY REVIEW: Definitely positively comparable to F*ogo. Love the waterfall on top of the salad bar. Nice staff, owner. I have been to many different Churascarrias. This is not the best nor the worst. Strengths are the price, house special, garlic beef. cheese rolls, attentive staff. Please support this restaurant if you want more Brazilian restaurants. Once you have been to one of these you learn to pace yourself. Negatives, nothing really. My wife sat on something that stained her white pants, but it came out. Being picky the salad bar is not as extensive as f*ogo, but I don't get overloaded on that anyway. The mainstays are all there. Smoked salmon was great, marinated eggplant great, cheeses great, soups(didn't try), proscuitto, etc.

MY REVIEW: Just had lunch there today and wanted to tell everybody immediately to hurry to this wonderful restaurant. We had lunch pretty late (1:15) so the place was not crowded which was good becasue there was more room for me to stand in awe at the "salad" bar.

The Food: When you are seated youn receive a basket of cheesy breads and aplate of pollenta and another of fried plantain. Some items at the "salad" bar were: a huge variety of very good olives, three amazing cheeses, cold shrimp marinated, carpaccio of beef with capers, many different salads including hearts of palm, asparagas with a strawberry sauce (on the side), marinated mushrooms, smoked salmon. For hot items they had black beans, mashed potato, a gravy of shitake mushrooms. Basically, for lunch, you really could just have the salad bar and be VERY happy! But then the meat starts coming. Oh yeah! Basically, simply cooked, presented well and in a friendly manner. It is very hard to stop eating at this point, but you have to try as each new meat is brought out.

The Service: So friendly - our waiter, Fabio, was so nice as was the man who sliced our meat for us. Very professional, yet friendly and nice. The manager came over at the end of our meal and we chatted with him for a few minutes. He told us that the beautiful fountain over the salad bar was created by the owner himself who really took a vested interest in the place. You could tell that everyone working there was professional and cared to give a good meal to us.

The Atmosphere: The decor is casual but still elegant. I prefer that this place is not so fancy as the "other" Brazilian place. I felt very comfortable having lunch here in jeans, yet the artwork, the beautiful red wall by the kitchens, the metalwork and wood decorations, and the extensive wine coolers were beautiful. They also had a unique wall-art that was a geometric design to hold wine bottles - very classy.

Highly recommend!!!

MY REVIEW: Repeat mantra: "I did not come for salad or veggies - this is a beast feast!"
Repeat mantra: "I did not come for salad or veggies - this is a beast feast!"

OK seriously, the Salad Bar is good for the most part, but the hot vegetables were fair at best. But do folks really come to places like this for the salad and veggies? The salad part of the Salad Bar was above average, however I did not care for the "meat" part of the Sald Bar at all! The two types of cooked oysters were poor and the smoked salmon was only fair. The hot mashed potatoes and black bean dishes were fair at best, primarily because they were bland (very little seasoning). But on to the beast feast ...

We sampled (yes sampled - more on that later) 9 of their advertised 15 cuts of meat (we never saw all 15). The Leg of Lamb tasted aweful; the Sausage, Broiled Chicken Leg, Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenderloin, Bacon Wrapped Beef Tenderloin, and Garlic Beef were all OK but nothing that you'd want to fill up on (in other words I wouldn't pay to just eat one of them); the Lamb Chops were very good; and the Flank Steak and House Special Beef were the two best cuts on the menu. But if you truly sample everything then you really can't eat a lot of what you liked the best. Until we had tried all 9 cuts (and I suppose the sampling "issue" would have been compounded had we seen the other 6 choices) we really didn't know which were the best and by that time you have eaten enough.

Bottom Line: Unless one really likes several (i.e. more than just two or three) of the cuts of meat I do not see the point of this type of restuarant. Our experience (both here and at F*o'go) suggests that there are only one or two outstanding cuts of meat with the rest being average. But if you limit yourself to the one excellent cut then you eliminate the uniquenesss of the place, but if you indulge in the uniqueness then you've settled for average (and its too expensive for average).

Regarding the inevitable comparison to F*o'go (to which we have been three times) I'd say they are very comparable. The one area where Fuegovivo fell short (and a big annoyance actually) was their cuts of meat arrived at the table at very different temperatures - some cuts were slightly cool while some were too hot to eat!

MY REVIEW: The food here is very bit as good as F*ogo, the service was excellent (A+, and I am picky). I think the atmosphere is not quite as elegant though, I give that a B. It is $4 cheaper than F*ogo and more convenient for me so I will be back.

If I owned the place I would have made the ceiling less obvious and created a separate entry area. C*hamps was nice but at $42 per meal it needs to be swank.

MY REVIEW: The place is new in the area and we decided to give it a try. Its a very nice place, kind of small from what it appears on the outside. Its your typical brazilian steakhouse where men run around slicing different cuts of meat onto your plate. The service was excellent except when I asked for paper napkins, a waiter informed me that they didn't have any...(what kind of restaurant doesn't have paper napkins?!)

It seems like all the waiters help each other out and ask every table, "if they're doing ok." the meat was good but i honestly think f*ogo de chao is better, but can't argue bc the meal is cheaper ($40something vs $65) The fried bananas were not too pleasing. My husband LOVED the shrimp he said its great and all you can eat. i would reccomend this to anybody wanting a nice night out not a typical everyday place, unless you want to spend $100+...hint don't eat before you go that way you can take advantage of all you can eat meat! i rate a 7 out of 10 excellent service really friendly waiter...be warned dress code enforced they made my hubby take off his cap...

MY REVIEW: This place is absolutely amazing!!!! The food tasted very much so like in Brazil. The food, meat and service were 100% satisfaction guaranteed. The waiters were very knowledgeable about all the meat types they were serving and they were more than 15 types of it! I liked the food a little bit more than F*ogo de Chao, it tasted like Brazilian food, really. The environment is very clean and neat. Everybody was very friendly. The meat was cook to perfection!!!! Yummy!!!
