The Iron Cactus BBQ & Grill

MY REVIEW: I took my wife, daughter, and mother-in-law down to Sargent for a steak at the Iron Cactus. Had heard from some of our friends how good the steaks were and they were not lying. The steaks were cooked to perfection and delicious. They enjoyed the grilled veggies also. Then they had to have dessert and get kolaches to go. We'll definately be returning.

MY REVIEW: Recently stopped into The Iron Cactus one weekend while renting a beach house along the coast. Some friends recommended it, and we liked it so much we went there for dinner twice in one weekend! The real star of the menu is the BBQ. The brisket was some of the most delicious I have ever had (even including my visits to Luling and Lockhart). Everything was fresh and delicious, including the great salads and appetizers. The beer is cold and very reasonably priced. If you're in Sargent or anywhere around Matagorda County, you owe it to yourself to check The Iron Cactus out!

MY REVIEW: A family run place where everyone is friendly. The last time I went I had a brisket sandwich from the lean end that was as tender as you can get. Very moist and tender. The sausage is also very good. BBQ sauce is served on the side. I stick to the BBQ but they aslo have country fried steak and other fare. If you happen to be in the area or want to take a drive out to the country, I would take the chance to check it out. Some really good fishing is right down the road.
