MY REVIEW: A friend recommended this establishment to me. I first tried it on a Friday afternoon and got the baked chicken with greens, mac n cheese and yams. It came with a cornbread muffin. Talk about delicious. What I didn't know is that on Fridays and Sundays they serve fish. So the following Sunday I went and got the fish dinner. It was fantastic. The fish was fried with a light but crisp crust. I also ordered the peach cobbler. The service is fast and friendly. Although it's a little drive for me (I stay in midtown), it's worth the drive and I can't wait to return.

MY REVIEW: Although this place sits on busy N. Shepherd (near W. Little York) and has been open 4 years I had not tried it until earlier this week (Wednesday Jan 9).
She serves soul food (soul food is what we Southerners call "supper") and has a large choice of meat and side dishes including several different kinds of greens. There's ox tail, pork chops fixed two ways, meat loaf, mac and cheese and, of course, corn bread and iced tea. The price for meat and 2 sides (rice was included with the smothered pork chops so I actually got THREE sides) came to about $7.
There are many more items to choose from. The service was fast (buffet-style) and friendly. A Houston police officer was eating while I was there and the place is in a relatively safe place to take family.
I may go back as soon as this afternoon. For sure I'll be going back soon.
