Profile Description: The Gardens at Westgreen is Orleans Seafood Kitchen’s first location. The owners are Chance Comstock, President and Operating Manager and Marcus Payavla, Vice President and Operating Manager of the restaurant. They have run other popular Houston establishments and were successful, but this is their entrepreneurial debut as first time restaurant owners. Orleans Seafood Kitchen will succeed due to the experienced management staff, superior customer service, and high quality food with every visit.

MY REVIEW: This was our first time visit to the Orleans Seafood Kitchen. We read the reviews online first before we visited and it. Mixed reviews but positive reviews more than bad ones.

Their set up is, you walk in, you order, pay, find an open seat and they call your number and you can pick up your food, or someone brings it to you. We ordered 1 appetizer, 1 cup of Gumbo, split an Entree and ordered 1 tea for $31.

We ordered an appetizer, the Boudin balls with Fries. They were very tasty! Lightly breaded and a bit spicy. The fries were fresh and crisp.

My husband ordered a cup of Seafood Gumbo. He said it was okay, needed a little more rice, flavor was alright.

We both split the Shrimp Brochette. They split the plate for us and served 3 big shrimps per person on top of a bed of dirty rice. The shrimp was very good, just a little greasy. The dirty rice was not authentic at all. The taste was okay. It looked more like fried rice with ground beef in it. P*opeyes makes better dirty rice.

Overall, the meal was above average. Only weak points were the dirty rice and seafood gumbo. Prices are ok. They have a full service bar and offer 20% off on Sunday's if you bring in a church flier and kids eat free all day on Wednesday. I'd recommend you try this establishment.

MY REVIEW: The new seafood kings in Katy. WOW. Their food is great, prices are great, service too. We started with a dozen fresh gulf oysters $7.25. Some were huge. You must try the BIG EASY PLATTER $17.95. This large platter has Oysters, extra Shrimp, Catfish, and fried Crawfish, and fries, and it is enough to feed 2 adults. What a deal.

MY REVIEW: being from Lafayette, I had to try.....I was very disappointed. Who serves muffalatas cold????, plus very little dressing. Gumbo is a dark roux (almost burnt tasting) and the fried entres are just that...fried, with little flavor. The owner questioned my knowledge of "authentic cajun/creole food". He offered us a discount to "come again"; I passed it to a young couple that was there.

MY REVIEW: A Disappointment. The location is nice. Clean, friendly, somewhat cafeteria-like. But the food was not good. Fried Oysters were tasteless. The bread was horrible. The stuffed shrimp (the corn bread) was not fully cooked. The fried shrimp was ok but you could tell that it was frozen and most likely NOT from Louisiana. The French fries were good but then again, I could go to M*cD's and get good fries. The catfish was tasty. Overall, a very big disappointment. But when you're spoiled with cooking like "T*oday's Catch" in Chalmette, and real real French bread, I've yet to find a place that matches up. Oh well, the search continues. As I told my lovely wife, I guess if we really want Louisiana cookin', we'll need to take a ride to Louisiana.

MY REVIEW: the service is great/since i am from new orleans, i have never found a cajun style restaurant in katy that is any good. the po-boys don't have the good new orleans style bread, but the fried shrimp and fried catfish was very good. i don't know if they really know much about muffelettas because they didn't warm mine and told me that they serve them at room temperature! not even the cheese was melted! anyway, we keep trying this place.

MY REVIEW: Ok let me say this first I am definitely a coniseaur (sp) of Cajun food. The first time I went I had a Alligataor Po Boy and it was juicy and the portions were good sized and the service was very friendly. Today I picked up the blackened Trout in a lemon butter sauce topped with crawfish and pico de gallo and it was superb. The portions are bigger and more reasonable than B*abins! And I consider B*abins one of the best seafood houses around. If you're a Cajun food lover like me then y'all have go to try this place out.

MY REVIEW: We had passed the restaurant several times and that day were planning to go down I-10 to another popular seafood spot. Decided we didn't want to fight traffic so we tried NO Seafood Kitchen. Wow, were we pleased!!

We had the trout with one of the sauces, the blackened redfish with a sauce and a side of red beans and rice, crawfish etoufee and the bread pudding. We were not disappointed in any of it. It was all very good!! Oh and to drink we had the frozen hurricanes and frozen margaritas both good as well.

The prices are reasonable (yes the price for crawfish is a bit high) but everything else is reasonably priced. The decor is nice but if you are looking for a quiet sit down meal, go early before the crowd gets there. I will definitely make this a regular spot and recommend this spot to friends!

MY REVIEW: Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. We have begun driving up Hwy 99 from Sugar Land to go get this food. The Gumbo is the best I've found in the city, and the fried oysters are off the chart! The kids enjoy their's as well, and are entertained with video games and such. Go try this place if you like New Orleans style seafood, you will not be disappointed!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have been trying to find a good "authenic" New Orleans resturant in the Katy area, resonably priced. We stopped for lunch after church (2nd Baptist) since it was my birhtday weekend. The ambiance is very nice, like a New Orleans courtyard and the food was, oh my momma is FANTASTIC!!! The seafood and chicken and sausage gumbos reminded me of my grandma's cooking! The boudin balls reminded me of the Shell station off of I-10 in LaFayette that had the best boudin balls on the highway!! Watching the po-boys and other dishes come out of the kitchen made me feel like I was back in New Orleans!! This will DEFINITELY be my hang-out for good New Orleans cooking at a very resonable price.

MY REVIEW: We live nearby and have been wanting to try Orleans Seafood Kitchen since it opened. We're tired of the same old food around Katy, so it's great to have something different in the neighborhood. (How many Mexican and Chinese restaurants do we need?) The food was excellent - we had the red beans and rice with cornbread, and the redfish special with royale sauce. The dirty rice and green beans with bacon that came with it were very good too. The manager (or owner?) came by each table and asked how everything was. We'll definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: Our friends in Katy told us about this new restaurant and that it was so good. We don't live in Katy, but decided to try it anyway. I had the brochette shrimp and my husband had the crawfish etoufee and fried shrimp combination. We shared a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo, since not many restaurants have it. We were so impressed with everything we ate The shrimp brochette were like no brochette I've ever tasted before. They put seafood stuffing in it and it makes it so good! The shrimp breading was nice and crispy and the gumbo was delicious! We like to enjoy good food, so we will definitely go back even if we have to drive a little to get there.

MY REVIEW: OK, let me start by asking.. Where ya at? I am from New Orleans and live in Katy. So, being dissapointed by every other "Cajun place" that has opened up in Katy because they forgot how to cook New Orleans style, think cayenne pepper is the magic ingredient in all New Orleans food, or over priced the food out of business, I was skeptical.

Well, I was pleasantly suprised to say the least! We got the Pasta St Charles, Seafood Platter, side of dirty rice, and the Kids Fish plate. All three were very good. The pasta had lots of shrimp and crawfish in a very good sauce, the platter was a good size and the food was fried well, oysters were not overdone, stuffed shrimp were very good. The dirty rice was a big portion for a side item and had a great flavor.

I will need to go back and try the po boy's, I am very critical of what the bread is like, and the gumbo looked like it was in a dark roux.

The crawfish looked like they were done correctly, meaning no seasoning powder sprinked on the outside, but $4.95 lb is a bit high.

In short, I am estatic that a good restraunt has opened in Katy for New Orleans transplants and will be back to try out the rest of the menu!

p.s.- Happy Hour draft was 2.25 a pint!

MY REVIEW: We tried Orleans Seafood Kitchen for lunch on a Sunday. Everyone enjoyed the food. The restaurant is very casual, you order at the counter and then pick up your food when your order number is called. We tried a seafood platter (catfish and fried oysters), a shrimp poboy and a seafood pasta dish. All were tasty and our shared dessert of bread pudding was good as well. On Sundays church programs are worth a 20% discount! I'd gladly try Orleans Seafood Restaurant again.

MY REVIEW: The restraunt is very inviting, with a sports bar feel. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was the best I have ever had excellent. We also had the seafood gumbo wonderful. I wish they had a location in The Woodlands.

MY REVIEW: We had the trout & Mauhi - both were cooked great with great sauce. The fish tasted very fresh. We also sampled the red beans and rice. It was good, though I think the rice could have been better. The corn bread that came with it was good. We also ordered the seafood gumbo - I have had much better & the shrimp in it were not pealed. We ordered the cold shrimp & they were good. Their glasses for ice tea & soda are very large - and that a good thing. The decor and seating were nice and causal. We will go back. I would like to try their fried fish & shrimp next time.
