MY REVIEW: We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Andrea's tonight. Andrea knows how to treat customers. He is all over the restaurant and makes everyone feel special. Food is amazing. Antipasto Salad takes the cake (although I was too full to eat any cake)! Definitely makes a nice addition to the pasta entrees (I had the Fettuccini Pesto - it was very good) Even though the pasta would have been enough for another meal - I was a pig and ate the whole thing!
Excellent place to eat and it has that entrepreneural feeling that keeps customers coming back and staying out of the chains.
Try Andreas! You will be glad you did!

MY REVIEW: this place is awesome!! Had the cheese raviolli a cream sauce, and the chef was very nice to sub chicken for the ham it is typically served with. I even had left overs to take home that were even better a few days later....the salad was very fresh and I liked the balsamic dressing. Ask for the oil and herbs for your bread, it makes the meal. Very accomodating and moderatly pricing. Portion sizes are good too, for the money. We will be going back again for sure!

MY REVIEW: We tried this restaurant after all the good reviews. If you're not one of the regulars, don't expect to get any 'special' service. We were one of three couples in the restaurant, and the chef kept hovering around one table and just ignored the other 2. And the food we recieved was lukewarm at best.

MY REVIEW: I have lived all over the country and I judge my love for the city with a huge part on how good the Italian food is. I can survive without seasons, if I know I can have a splendid meal that takes me back to the feeling of fall or Christmas.
Andrea's does that and then some...he has create a place in the country that CAN NOT be reproduced...his food and the ambiance of his restaurant.
I cannot visit with our having the eggplant roll-ups or the homemade tiramasu...it truly leaves wishen you had ordered 2!
Another great thing about this place is whatever you are hungry for...Chef Andrea can magically whip something mouthwater up! It's truly one of the best places to dive in and experience your taste buds again! My family can't get enough!
Oh and ...if you are into the olive oil for dipping the bread...just ask...they make it fresh and it's worth speaking up for!!!!

MY REVIEW: I had dinner with a friend last night. I had wine, garlic bread, duck ravioli, and the Italian cream cake. I ate everything and loved every last bit. I even saw people I hadn't seen it years (by accident). It was great. I can't believe I found it. I used to live in that neighborhood (near Dairy Ashford) and was impressed with the friendliness, cleanliness, and food. If I had to complain, I wouldn't. The food and friendliness of the staff was too good. Finally, a good value in west Houston.

MY REVIEW: Excellent ravioli and lasagna. We were very pleased with the food, surroundings, and service. Andrea took personal care with our orders. It's great to know there's a restaurant of this quality near our weekend errands.

MY REVIEW: What a jewel of a place! This site is very unpresuming in the middle of a parking lot on the corner of Westheimer and Dairy Ashford - so my dining companion and I were surprised at the lovely, yet unpretentious decor and the tempting, extensive menu. Service was very good - but the place was almost empty at 1:00 on a Saturday afternoon. We both had ravioli specials - mine, the duck with sundried tomatoes; hers, the lobster with lump crab in a creamy red gravy. Both dishes were delicate and delicious. Chef Andrea stopped by to ensure we were enjoying the meal - which we were indeed. We fought over the last piece of bread so we could sop up the sauces from our plates! We'll be back!

MY REVIEW: My wife and I found a rare moment to escape from our four children and enjoy a lunch date today. As we drove down the road we tossed around various suggestions for where to eat until we remembered that so many of our neighbors had been giving great accolades to a new restaurant opened by Andrea Pintus.
Our neighborhood message board is usually a battle ground filled with people saying all sorts of nasty things, but absolutely everyone agrees and speaks highly of Andrea's. Not a week goes by without someone reporting what wonderful meal they have enjoyed cooked up by Chef Pintus. So off we went to try it out for ourselves.
We were warmly greeted at the door and immediately made to feel at home. We started off with the Salsiccia di Maiale con Peperoni and were blown away with the flavor of the homemade sausage. Chef Pintus delivered the plate to our table with obvious pride. My wife ordered the Gnocchi di Patate in gorganzola while I chose the Petto di Pollo al Marsala. Absolutely nothing was left on our plates. Chef Pintus was pleased to note that his dishwasher would have little work to do with our plates.
Having eaten in at least 15 different Italian restaurants (including the most expensive and established) in the Houston area, I can safely say that I have NEVER found an eatery that serves up gnocchi or chicken marsala as good as Andrea's. Superb. We look forward to our next visit and trying more of the outstanding food.
We left with the feeling that Andrea Ristorante Italiano is now a permanent extension of our home.
Go and enjoy!

MY REVIEW: have been to Andrea's several times. the dining experience is wonderful and the wine list is plentiful. we'll continue to support this little "gem" on the westside of Houston. the calamari is extremely tender and his homemade italian sausage is tasty. several salads are on the menu --- have tried them all --- and have not been disappointed. the pasta at Andres's is execellent and Andrea's gravy rivals my grandma ......and if you have room, the main course(s) are great, particularly lamp chops, grilled salmon, sea bass, and the veal milanese. perhaps someday, we'll leave room for dessert (LOL).

MY REVIEW: This is a wonderful restaurant! Ever since P*ino's closed, we've been searching for a great Italian restaurant, one that's fairly quiet, has terrific red sauce, homemade pasta, and decent prices. Andreas is exceptional on all points. The wait staff is attentive, but not overly so, which can be annoying. I like that salads come with the entrees -- it irritates me to pay $8 for a salad -- and the salad is really good. Every entree I've tried has been terrific. And the eggplant appetizer and profiteroles (dessert) are mouthwatering. You cannot go wrong there. I sure hope they can make it. If you like their food, please support them.

MY REVIEW: We have been searching for P*atrenella's previous chef for awhile and now we have finally found him again. We love Chef Andrea's spaghetti with meatballs, linguine with clams, and angel hair pasta with crabmeat. The calamari appetizer is quite good also. The comforting food is like home cooked Italian, real simple yet very tasty. It is open late which is an exception in that area. Entrees come with a huge salad. The tiramisu is a must. My wife and I will be regulars here, just like old times.

MY REVIEW: Who knew you could get AMAZING Italian food in West Houston!! Andrea's food is on par with "The Hill" area in St. Louis and Chicago. The Cacciuco (fish soup) was incredible. Brimming with seafood and an incredible broth. the Ravioli alla Rachele was better than the butternut squash ravioli I had at the B*ellagio in Las Vegas. The ham makes all the difference. (no wonder it's his daughter's favorite) For dessert you can't go wrong with either the profiteroles or tiramisu. We were there early in the evening before it started to quickly fill up and were personally attended by Chef Andrea Pintus who could not have been a more charming host. Go there, support this independent restauranteur; you won't be disappointed.

MY REVIEW: So I've lived in this area for years and I only found Andrea's on the day I'm moving out of Houston! How sad! Since it was early afternoon I had Andrea all to myself and took care of me beautifully! The raspberry vinagrette dressing was delicious... The gnocchi were a delight! Just like those I used to help my grandma make with the help of a fork! Very light, much unlike anywhere else, where you can barely breathe after eating a plate of pasta! The tiramisu was to die for! It was so light that I was able to enjoy every bite of it without being overwhelmed... it even tasted better than my tiramisu, and that's hard to admit! I'm going back tonight so that my sons and husband can enjoy Andrea's wonderfully light italian food before we leave for good. I know they'll have the gnocchi... but tonight... I'm trying the ravioli!

MY REVIEW: On June 7, we stopped for a quick lunch with our grandaughter Mikaela age 8. What a great choice! The service and food were excellent, and Mikaela announced that the Fettuccine Alfredo was the best she had ever eaten, even better than Grandma's, and Grandma is no slouch in the kitchen!
We returned again the following Thursday evening with friends for another outstanding meal.Perfection !
Great food, nice people,a relaxed environment and reasonable prices. We plan to enjoy Andrea's hospitality frequently, as it will soon be discovered by the crowds.

MY REVIEW: WE FOUND ANDREA!! For all of you who don't know, the owner is Andrea, who was the head chef at P*atrenella's on Jackson Hill for years. He left the restaurant 2 years ago and now has his own place. Andrea's food is absolutely wonderful. I went tonight and totally stuffed myself, as everything was just as good as I remember. Wonderful calamari, mussels, antipasto salad, chicken marsala, tiramasu. Service was a bit unseasoned, but that didn't put a damper on the excellent meal. I will be back many times.

MY REVIEW: My wife and i like to try new places and I was in the mood for Italian so she found this place which is very close to where we live. We went on a Friday night about 7 and they weren't too busy but it filled up after we sat down. The service was good and the food was good. We ordered dessert, a piece of Italian Creme cake. The waitress came back and said they were out. This seemed a little strange with it being the weekend. We just asked for the check and got ready to leave when a waiter brought a piece of cake to the table next to us. I asked what it was and they said Italian Creme cake. Couldn't figure out why our waitress would tell us they were out. She apologized 2 or 3 times and seemed quite sure they didn't have any. Just kind of struck me as strange

MY REVIEW: Today we tried a new restaurant. We chose Andrea's, we were skeptical about trying a new restaurant. We are always looking for a family run old school Italian restaurant. We were greeted by the owner and we were impressed by the atmosphere (you can't tell from the outside how charming it is). As soon as we saw the menu, we knew this was the traditional Italian restaurant we had been looking for, it had all of the classics including a 100% italian wine list. We ordered a bottle of our favorite Chianti "Rocca" as soon as we tasted it, Andrea brought us a cheese and olive plate to enjoy with our wine (this was a nice touch by Andrea). While we decided on our Entree's, here came Andrea with another delicious treat for us to try, an appetizer sized eggplant parmigiana, which was made to perfection. Our dinner salads were surprisingly robust and delightful. We ordered our old standby's, gnocchi, carbonara and ravioli, everything exceeded our expectations and went perfectly with our wine! We strongly suggest completing the meal with Andrea's homemade Tiramisu. We'll back soon. Bravo Andrea!

MY REVIEW: The Wait staff was friendly and checked on us several times throughout our lunch. The food was wonderful. Everything tasted fresh and very well seasoned. I wished I lived closer, because this would be our new lunch/dinner spot. It's so hard to find a good place to eat and so many times the independant places can't compete against the chains. Support your local small businesses and try this place out, you won't be dissappointed.

MY REVIEW: THe first time I went the wait staff was seriously lacking, but the food was so good we had to go back. We waited about a month and went back. Again the food was amazing and this time the service had improved. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

MY REVIEW: Our first visit to Andrea's was a great one. We went on a Friday night and were immediately greeted by the owner, who told us about the daily specials and his recommendations. We were seated by the window - but later the owner came by and offered to move us since the window tables were the warmest area in the place.
We ordered a bottle of the Cannonau and the eggplant appetizer. My husband ordered the antipasti salad - which is a great value for the price ($10). I ordered the lobster ravioli in a pink sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and crab (the special $19). At first I was a bit put off because my dish only had 3 ravioli - however, the ravioli were quite large (6 bites each) and I was stuffed by the time I was finished.
Service was a bit awkward, but that's because our server seemed very inexperienced.
The food was excellent and I can't wait to return.

MY REVIEW: The food was fabulous. The service needs much improvement. If you are looking for the wait staff to leave you alone, this is the place. We ordered for lunch, and went thursty the whole meal. You would think with the pricw, you would get offered a second glass of tea. The food is great, service needs a lot of work.

MY REVIEW: Hi! this was our second time at Andreas and let me tell you that his food is delicious!
He has an amazing wine list, some even hard to find, especially the Sardegna regional wines. My friends and I had calamari and mussels for appetizers, Butternut squash, linguine seafood pasta, chicken marsala and fettuccine family style and had a bottle of their cannonau which is a gotta try wine there!
The service was great! We were served by the brown-haired girl both visits and she really took care of us both times. Super sweet girl! I wish I remembered her name but shes the only girl there. Andrea also came out, Ive never met him but his cuisine is great!
We will all definitely be back and refer our family and friends! good luck!

MY REVIEW: The food was very good. Service was very friendly but needs improvement. Our first visit was by chance their 2nd night of opening. Their seemed to be alot of confusion not only with our table but a couple other tables. It was not terrible, but for us everything took a little too long and a dish had to be remade because it came out with the wrong sauce. Our 2nd visit was take out, and that was quick. We'll probably continue to do take out for awhile to give them a chance to improve their service.
They offer fresh pasta in some of their dishes. They have gnocchi (potato pasta) on their menu, which too few italian restaurants serve in Houston.
Overall ambiance was nice. A lot of improvements and decorating have taken place inside since I was last there when it was one of several different restaurants that didn't make it at this location. Hopefully, they will add some improvement to the fountain and patio area.
Will come again.

MY REVIEW: Wow! This is one great place for Italian food. Andre is a terrifc chef, and to boot, he's one heck of a guy! Personable and a pleasure to speak with, he'll try and stop by to say hello and make sure everything is to your likely (that's of course if he's not in the back cooking up a storm). We tried the Bresola, which was quite enjoyable. My husband had the clams, and they were outstanding. The Eggplant Parmagiana was out of this world. The decor is lovely and lends to a great atmosphere. It takes a little time to get your food, but we feel this is because they have just opened and are getting everything in "gear" and Andre is the only cook. Hopefully, he'll get some help soon! So, if you like great Italian food, and don't mind waiting a bit longer than usual, you will be rewarded with wonderful food and a relaxining evening. We shall return and return as we decided to try everything on the menu sooner or later!
