Profile Description: At Guri do Sul our menu begins with a gourmet salad bar with over twenty-five items to choose from. Following the salad bar, 12 different cuts will be offered, including beef, lamb, chicken, pork, and grilled salmon. These cuts will all be served tableside on hot skewers and sliced at your preferred temperature. This rodizio style of dining is not only a tradtition but a way of life then and now. Relax and set us serve you with our Brazilian hospitality and traditions.
MY REVIEW: A bit pricey but great food, extremely good service and nice decor. Did I mention the food was outstanding. You probably should stay away if you are a vegan, this is not the way you roll. But if you like great beef, pork, chicken, lamb and fish
this is a great place. Bring the mastercard or amex and Enjoy.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food at this steakhouse. Good value for a Brazilian steakhouse. Very good service. Mashed potatoes were my only complaint, tasted like instant.

MY REVIEW: The following is a review of my first visit to Guri do Sul. I have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, so I will talk about how it works in addition to our experience. It's a fixed price ($37.50 for dinner) that includes the salad bar, side starches and vegetables, breads, and all of the meats.
When you sit down, you order drinks (not included) and then go serve yourself at the salad bar. This includes salad greens, veggies like asparagus and green beans, cheeses, pasta salads, a delicious chicken salad, cold meats, and a couple of hot dishes like shrimp alfredo. While you're eating that, the server will drop off some hot rice, mashed potatoes, and cheese biscuits. When you've made some room on your plate, flip your coaster from red to green and the meat servers will begin stopping by with their skewers of meat (the tongs you have are for when they slice the flank steak).
My favorites were the garlic sirloin and bacon-wrapped chicken. My wife enjoyed the salmon and filet mignon. I didn't get too full off of the salad bar or sides, except for the cheese biscuits. Watch out for those delicious things. As the meat servers come around, they will ask what you are interested in and make sure it comes by. Even after we flipped our coaster back to red, they made some suggestions and made sure we got our money's worth. They took good care of us and the manager stopped by as well. Our only suggestion to him was that they should crack the seal on the bottled waters at the table. That should just be standard practice anywhere to prevent refilling.
Here is my only complaint: hidden charges. $37.50 gets you all the food mentioned above, but the drinks are extra. That's no surprise, but the problem is you never see a price. Flip through the wine and cocktail menu...no prices. Ask the server and he ballparks some prices for you. We were asked if we wanted water, said yes, and a big thing of bottled water was brought to the table. Wait a minute...maybe that's why they opened it in the back...so we wouldn't send it back. Anyway, glass of the house Chard cost $9.25 and didn't find out, of course, until the check came. After the meal we asked to see a dessert menu. The server said that he could more easily list them off for us. We asked if they cost extra and again we got a vague ballpark response. It was a good creme brulee that ended up costing between $6-$7, but I think clearly there is some unethical marketing strategy at play here.
In short, it's quite good, expensive so go hungry, don't fill up on the cheap stuff, and watch out for the hidden costs.

MY REVIEW: This is a very good restaurant and it is great to have them in The Woodlands. The meat is superb and I like that it is not overly salted like many Brzilian steakhouses. The salad seems smaller than most but the food is very fresh and tasty. My wife and daughter loved it. The especially loved the tomatoes and mozarella cheese. We have been to Brazil and this is more like a Brazilian sald bar which means they have many things other than lettuce and green vegatables. The hot dishes (pasta, rice and beans) and the table offerings (bananas and mashed potatoes) are included with the salad bar. They ordered the salad bar only which is half price while my son and I ate the meat. The sirloin and filet mignon are particularly good.
We had the Tres Leches cake for dessert which was very good.
All in all a great experience. Service was wonderful. The price is extremely reasonable when compared to other Brazilain Steakhouses. The salad bar only option is $19.95 which seems high to me but is fine compared to a $15 salad at C*hessecake Factory.

MY REVIEW: We eat here regularly...at least once a month. The owner knows us by sight and always stops by to talk with us. We stumbled on this restaurant last January. The owner told us that he had not advertised because he wanted the staff to learn the serving technique, so the first month was a training period. However, advertising was not needed. In The Woodlands community, "word of mouth" brought in a steady crowd every night. When our family comes for a visit, we take them to "Guri's" and they have always had a great experience.
The salad bar is wonderful...I love the white asparagus. It also has a wonderful chicken salad and potato salad. There are a wide variety of salads and fixings to satisfy anyone. And there is also a "warm" portion to the salad bar that has a couple of warm dishes (pasta and rice) for the evening...don't overlook them.
The meat is moist, tender and flavorful. You can choose different styles of beef, chicken, pork, lamb, sausage and salmon...all are good. The meats are delivered to your table on skewers and sliced off onto your plate.
There is also an excellent choice of desserts. The Papaya Crème is a must to try.
The restaurant has a warm, family-like atmosphere for casual dining. The owner sets the atmosphere with his friendly tableside visits and chats.
All in all, it is a wonderful dinning experience. Good food, good conversation, and great service. Guri's is one of our favorites; and after 23 years in The Woodlands, it is wonderful to have a place like this here. No more driving to F*go de Chao in Houston.

MY REVIEW: My dining experience at Guri Do Sul was excellent. I was not only seated promptly, my wife and I enjoyed great service and ambiance. The manager, a former F*ogo de Chao manager, visited our table multiple times to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. I have dined at many Brazilian Steakhouses throughout the nation, from Texas the Brazil in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Chima in Atlanta. Guri Do Sul ranks right up there with other great Brazilian Steakhouses. I highly recommend.

MY REVIEW: OMG!!!!!!! I have never had brazilian food before, but this place takes the cake! It was absolutely amazing! I have never eaten such a variety of meat in one sitting, but it was delicious! The waitstaff was so friendly and the atmosphere was very nice! I do know that it needs more paintings on the walls because the place feels very bland. I do know I'd love to go again one day and I'm happy I spent it with my father. Food was great and keep up the good work! BTW, the temp of the meat was absolutely perfect, since that is the temperature that my father and I prefer. It being extremely hot! Great Job!!!!

MY REVIEW: Amazing food. The antipasto (is this right?) bar is insane. I'd go there just for the salad bar. The meat options never stop, all of them cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service is so good it's almost too good. There are so many servers hovering to take care of you it's a little stifling if you're a casual restaurant goer like me, but it was nice to be fawned over.
I'm not a major meat eater but I ate like a carnivore that night, and my husband was in pure heaven. My mother was visiting from out of town and luckily picked up the check, it is very expensive, but for what you get, it's worth it for a special occasion. Even if you're stuffed to the gills, don't forget dessert. We had this incredible chocolate cake with some raspberry cream sauce, oh my gosh I'm drooling just thinking about it. Go here for Father's Day, you will be the total hit of your house.

MY REVIEW: The food is fantastic!
My family and I have been here four or five times, with the first time being the first week the restaurant opened. The food is outstanding with my favorite being the lamb chops and filet. The owner and staff are very friendly and the service is great. The only thing that needs to be added is the dining room needs to be a bit warmer with artwork and decorations to make the dining room look as good as the food tastes!
Guri we will see you again soon!

MY REVIEW: I agree, finally some good Brazilian steakhouse ambiance without having to drive an hour to get there. I love the waitstaff, JOHNNY ON THE SPOT!! You ask for a select cut of meat, it's there within 2 minutes. Very good service, and the cuts of meat are awesome, don't change a thing, maybe some different after-dinner mints. (Like Brand B) has those awesome little chocolate mints, asides from that, keep up the consistancy.

MY REVIEW: We went for my husband's birthday & really enjoyed this place! Everything I loved was on the salad bar alone, though it was light on the greens. The service was outstanding; once the meats started coming, we couldn't eat fast enough! Every selection was just off the grill hot & very tender; some of the beef items could have used a bit more spice/flavoring (we added salt & the new green churri sauce to the beef), but was all-in-all very well worth the money! Our favorite was the parmesan pork, but being that everything was good, it really was hard to pick a favorite.
To mention the service again, it was GREAT! The hostess overheard us at the bar discussing my husband's birthday & they brought out a dessert at the end of the meal without us saying anything, which was a great touch & very thoughtful! Tasty too!
The drinks are a bit pricey, but no more than a nice restaurant in town. We'll go back!

MY REVIEW: The food was very good, and the price was even better considering the same style and quality restaurant downtown is 15 dollars a person more. Service was excellent, even though sometimes it was hard to understand my waiter through his very thick South American accent, but it was quite charming so I forgave him :). We tried dessert, something we normally stay away from when going out to eat but I am glad we tried the homemade Tres Leches cake. It was phenomenal. The only weak point of the restaurant was the ambiance was a little lacking, but I was assured that it was a work in progress. Everyone should give this place a try.

MY REVIEW: The service was very good. Our reservation was honored and met in a timely manner. The food is good, not great, but something you should at least go to once - especially if you live in The Woodlands, as all of the restaurants tend to get old after a while. In my opinion, price was slightly high considering you could go to a local steak restaurant and have better atmosphere, but was definitely worth what you get. It is a nice addition to have to local Woodlands restaurants and worth going.

MY REVIEW: I completely disagree with "Brasilian fan." I have been to Guri Do Sul a number of times and I have always enjoyed every aspect of it. I always make a reservation and I have been seated promptly in every instance. The meat has been cooked well and, more to the point, seasoned properly. I have been to Brazil a few times and the food is just as good at the churrascos that I visited there. The service is excellent, the caipirinhas, as noted below, are perfect, the bartender is excellent and knowledgeable.
All in all, Guri Do Sul has been one great experience after another. It seems to me that these bad reviews below are rival reasturants since they seem to be pushing people to go "downtown" to those places. Guri is cheaper and every bit as good as any other Brazilian churrasco in Houston

MY REVIEW: Guri do Sul misses the mark... from the ~30 mins wait for the table, even with a reservation - to the lackluster salad bar with CANNED heart-of-palms - to the watery black beans - to the low frequency of rotation of the meats which all needed salt/more flavor - to the over-priced drinks... I would pass. If your taste buds are drawing you to a cultural Brazilian churrasco - make the drive downtown... this one has a ways to go to be authentic.

MY REVIEW: Fantastic food, wonderful service, limited but delicious salad bar. Desserts are outstanding and beautiful! The rice and beans are not a standard item which is a bit of a mistake, but all you have to do is ask and they will bring you some. Most of the staff speaks Portuguese and is very knowledgeable of what they are serving including the bartenders, who make perfect caipirinhas!
I will be back very soon!

MY REVIEW: Good: -As the popularity hasn't gotten high enough yet, we were able to walk up and get a table immed. on a Friday night...in the Woodlands
-Service was over-the-top excellent, almost too good. I had 6 different servers asking to clear my "salad" plate before I was finished with it.
-Meats were excellent, ALL of them. Even when I requested "well-done" instead of medium - if the Gaucho didn't have some ON his skewer, he soon returned with some that WAS. (I never got that at any other "Bazilian" restaurant...and I've been to all of them)
-Sides brought to table were very good and actually refilled! Rice, Mashed potatoes, Cheese Rolls, "Fried" bananas.
Bad: -$37.50pp w/ $8 "house" drinks isn't the cheapest date in town
-If you want to see more than the merest 'hint' of greens, this isn't a good choice. One bowl of greens that was already prepared as a Greek salad is really thin. Fresh asparagus, prosciutto (sp?), & baby corn not withstanding, calling this thing a Salad "Bar" is overkill.
I will definitely return, but won't waste my time on a mixed drink and will hope for gradual improvement in the Salad Bar.

MY REVIEW: Outstanding restaurant!! While the salad bar was a bit slim compared to some churrascarias I've seen here and in Brazil, I was there for the meat! ...and I was NOT disappointed! The picanha was the absolute best that I've had anywhere in the world. The owner came out and chatted with us a bit and brought by some other food that we've only had in Brazil for a special treat. Great atmosphere, great food, great people. HIGHLY recommended!!!!!!!!

MY REVIEW: I like having a Brazilian steakhouse in my own backyard! The salad bar is a bit scaled down compared to others, but with the quantity of meat, I think it is more than adequate and offers a nice selection.
I enjoyed every morsel of meat that was served; particularly the garlic beef. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return!

MY REVIEW: My family and I have gone to eat here three times already and what we really like about the newly established churrascaria is its very good attention towards us despite all three times we have gone have been full of people. The waiters and churrasqueros have been very well coordinated so they don't bug you at all or leave you unattended.
Something that I don't see often in other steakhouses is the presence of the owner going from table to table establishing short but enjoyable conversations making me and my family feel welcomed. Oh and by the way, from one of our conversations with the owner we found at that he lives right here in The Woodlands, thought it would be nice to share that with you.
I also agree with some of the reviews that Guri Do Sul needs some plants and pictures on the walls, these we hope will be placed in the future since, as I said earlier, it is a new restaurant in The Woodlands community. I personally think it is a perfect spot for the restaurant since it is not far away from the I-45 but not too close. I completely disagree with the cheapthrills review concerning attention and quality of both: salads and meats. Personally I think it would be a waste of time and money spent on transportation to Houston and on an expensive $50 plate while I could get something that exceeds my expectations and right here in The Woodlands with my family for $34 with the same or even better quality than the expensive churrascarias at Houston. In my opinion the cheapthrills critique lacks of good taste and is somewhat indifferent to a good restaurant people in this page find amusing.

MY REVIEW: I've visited several churrascarias (F*g*, Nel*re, Texas de Braz!l, etc) so my views are based on those experience. While it is nice that we finally have something like this on this side of town, this restaurant needs to critique its salad bar and meat in order to compete. But maybe it doesn't have to compete because there is nothing like this within a 40 mile radius.
No one comes for the salad bar and that's a good thing because this one is not that great. My favorite veggies taste like they came straight from the can/jar with no seasoning or even rinsing whatsoever. The smoked salmon, cheeses and Caesar were very good. I looked forward to sampling some standard rice & beans but they did not have any.
The best meat was the house specialty because not only was it tender and seasoned well, it was cooked perfectly for our tastes. Our table preferred medium-medium rare and the meat was often too well done. At one point, we were served meat that was just seared on the outside for a couple of seconds. I totally don't get that. I know that I wasted more meat because of that than I actually ate.
The salmon was good too, although a bit well done for my taste.
Overall, the experience was good for what it was. It was nothing amazing or comparable to other Brazilian places we've been. We may visit again. Then again, we may just make the drive to Houston and pay a little more for a better meal & experience.

MY REVIEW: My husband and I ate here for New Years dinner and loved it! You pay a flat fee per person for all you can eat ($35 each). The filet mignon was excellent. The service is good. My only recommendation would be to warm up the place bit - less lighting, pictures on the walls, plants, etc... With the restaurant being so new this stuff might be in the works. We'll definitely be back to this place.

MY REVIEW: Finally, I do not have to drive 45 minutes into Houston to get great Brazilian food. It is right here in The Woodlands now. I went with some friends on New Year's Eve to check it out and I was glad we did. The food was delicious, the wine list was reasonable and the service was great. Even though the place was packed, we still received plenty of attention from the servers and Gauchos. I highly recommend the House Specialty and the Strawberry Caipirinhas. I will definitely be going back soon!!
