MY REVIEW: We wanted to celebrate our anniversary here because of all the wonderful reviews, but there was a sign indicating that the restaurant was closed. It did not appear to be a "closed for storm damage" sign, but a "closed for good" sign.

MY REVIEW: Excellent food, very comfortable atmosphere, and extremely well-trained, attentive staff. The volume of the music is perfect, so table conversation is easy. We don't even live in this part of town. We just stumbled across it, and were very glad we did. We'll definitely be back.

MY REVIEW: GREAT FOOD served with great presentation. Friendly staff. Quiet. Elegant. No weak points that I can see. A group I was with reserved the whole restaurant one night (around 60 people) and they did a great job. I also went back for lunch and the waitperson remembered me. That was nice. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!

MY REVIEW: I love this restaurant! The atmopshere, the food, and the owners, Jody and Joyce are the best! I met Jody and Joyce when planning our company's 2007 Christmas party. The party was exquisite. We have already booked for the next Christmas party!
The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxing. The service is wonderful. On a nice evening I like to dine out on the cozy back patio, which is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner; not to mention the water view with beautiful sunsets.
Jabour's also has a very friendly, yet sophisticated bar. If I am alone, I am happy to sit at the bar and have dinner or drinks with the friendly, attentive service. They also have a wonderful wine selection.
I highly recommend this quaint and friendly restaurant.

MY REVIEW: Jabour's is superb from top to bottom. The ambience is soft, romantic and inviting. The staff members are courteous, attentive, informative and professional (ask for Cindy...she was an incredible server). Joyce and Jody, the owners, are some of the nicest people you're ever going to meet. Joyce introduced herself to my wife and me and after I inquired about the special Artemis wine they were serving that night (delicious), she and Cindy brought Jody out from the kitchen to answer my questions. What a genuine and gracious gentleman.
The food was outstanding. The wild mushroom soup was stellar. Tender, succulent steak...my mouth is watering just writing about it. Too bad we didn't save room for dessert. Oh well, we'll be back plenty of times so we'll enjoy them then.
If you're looking for a perfect dining experience and you want to support good people who are committed to the community, then Jabour's is definitely your place!

MY REVIEW: We are regulars at Jabour's. There are so few restaurants in Sugar Land, or even in Houston, with this ambiance. It has white table cloths, soft music and lighting, experienced staff, and wonderfully reliable food. My wife and I love being able to relax and converse with each other and friends without having to struggle to be heard.
One thing that absolutely stands out about this restaurant is how accommodating and personal it is. Jody and Joyce, the owners are usually there to greet us warmly. Their answer to almost any request we have made is "yes."
Last night we had soups...me lobster bisque, she wild mushroom, both arrived hot and good as ever. Salad was bibb lettuce with prosciutto and asparagus and balsamic vinaigrette. It was unique, fresh and excellent. We both had the same main course, pan seared chicken with parmesean risotto and a few sauted vegetables....it is my new favorite dish...outstanding!
For desert we were invited to share a piece of wedding cake from the very small (maybe 8) and casual (the bride wore jeans) group celebrating on Jabour's beautifully refinished patio overlooking Oyster Creek. Jody...the owner had actually performed the ceremony.
While we don't see a wedding every time we go there, our experience is always memorable and enjoyable.

MY REVIEW: We have discovered a fine dining restaurant in Sugar Land that has great food,a relaxing atmosphere and wonderful service. The crab cakes are outstanding! We dined for Easter with our family and were seated in one of their private rooms which everyone in our party is still talking about that it was one of the best gatherings we have had at a restaurant. Jabour's is definitely on the top of our list when we think of fine dining! Jody and Joyce Jabour will make your dining experience one to remember.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant replaced an old favorite of ours and while it was a good dinner and reasonably priced, we miss the old place. For a fine dining establishment, the experience was a bit rushed and disappointing.
The wait staff were courteous and attentive but first of all had to be asked about whether any specials were available and then upon remembering that there was a special for the night, had to go find out what the it (just the one) was. This is something that a waiter in a fine dining establishment should know. In addition, we felt like we were rushed through our meal. No sooner had our soup bowls been taken away than our entrees were in front of us. The same happened between the entrees and dessert and then ... my pet peeve for a fine dining establishment ... the check was placed in front of me without me having asked for it. Did they want me to leave already? It felt like I had only just sat down!
The wine list included some decent inexpensive wines but it was limited in its options for mid-priced wines.
The soups that we had (mushroom soup and tomato soup) were good but not outstanding. The entree (the petite filet) was beautifully cooked, had a great flavor to it and was the highlight of the meal. Sadly the desserts fell well short - my poached pear was ice-cold and bland. The raspberry creme brulee was a huge disappointment - the raspberry element of it was not provided by any flavor in the creme brulee itself but by 2 berries placed on top of one of the worst creme brulees that I have tasted in recent times - it was runny and you could still feel the sugar granules within the creme. Our waiter said that the chef likes to prepare it that way - the chef needs to rethink that one.
Overall, a decent place for a reasonably priced meal but it is not fine dining. Bring back the old place!

MY REVIEW: My husband I really love this restaurant! I will detail our last dinner there: my husband had crab cake for an appetizer and it was the best I've ever had (truly, and he only gave me a little bite!). I had the lobster bisque and it was yummy as well - it had some really good spices in it that made it taste different from others I've tried (if you are a fan of lob bisque - DO TRY!). The bread that they bring to the table is memorable as well - it is usually 2 or 3 different kinds and the butter is sweet (honey-butter?). Don't fill up too much on the bread, though, because the main courses are exquisite.
Elmo had the pork chop, which he gave a "10" and cleaned his plate. I had the salmon and I usually take home about half my food for next day's lunch, but not that evening! The wines by the glass were excellent. I tried a Zinfandel and a Pinot Noir, then we retired to the bar area and I had a Cafe Latte that was perfect. Jody and Joyce are wonderful people and really made us feel welcome. Everyone else that works there do all they can to make us feel like a king and queen. Truly, I would not be writing this review if I were not SO IMPRESSED with the place!
I can't wait to try the other items on the menu - a grand selection, thanks to Jason Jones (Exec Chef Extraordinaire!). We missed Kerry the last time, but when he is there he is always friendly and kind and answers all my questions about wine. The atmosphere is beautiful - elegant and comfortable. We will absolutely go back time and time again to enjoy this top notch restaurant - I would say one of THE BEST in the Sugarland area. Go hungry and don't be in a hurry - you'll want to savor every moment :)

MY REVIEW: After only one visit (so far), I would rank this new restaurant at the top of a fine dining experience. The food was fabulous and served with great presentation. Seasonings are used in unique blends and combinations. Their blackened redfish was the best I have ever eaten, while not being overpowered with hot spices. Great place for business lunches/dinners or celebrating a special occasion. The owners, chef, and waitstaff are very friendly and attentive. I look forward to my next visit.

MY REVIEW: Fabulous new restaurant in the Sugar Land area. I had heard of this new restaurant thru a close friend of mine and decided to try it out. What a delightful treat it was....both in food and ambiance. Prices are quite reasonable (comparable to other establishments). Easy to drive to, parking is convenient (that in itself is a rarity!) The food was outstanding..I had the crab cakes which were the best I've ever had at any Houston area restaurant. The crab cakes are a MUST HAVE. I had the opportunity to meet the chef as well as the owners, all of whom were so nice. I know this restaurant will fast become a "regular" for persons not only in the Sugar Land area, but from Houston metro-area as soon as word spreads. I defintely plan on becoming a "regular" at this one.

MY REVIEW: Great new restaurant in Sugar Land. Nice ambiance. Top quality fresh ingredients are used, innovative menu with good variety. Crab Cakes are a must try. Wait staff is attentive. Wine selection is good, reasonable prices by the glass. Large 22 person private dining room a bonus. Intimate bar, nice place to wait for a table or share a night cap before heading home for the evening.

MY REVIEW: LOVED IT!I thought we would try this new restaurant out because I heard that the atmosphere was nice, a place you could relax and actually have a conversation without having to shout. I could not believe how nice it was when you walked in. The staff was excellent, the decore elegant. I loved the christmas tree! We started off with the crab cake; OUT OF THIS WORLD! I think these are the best crab cakes in Houston, certainly the best ones I have eaten. My wife had the Grilled Salmon Pasta with olives and roasted tomatoes which was pretty good, I think they could do better. I had a molasses and balsamic vinegar marinated pork chop. It was about 3 inches thick, cooked perfectly medium, and was just about the best pork chop I have ever had. The molasses and the balsamic vinegar were quite a unique combination. For dessert we shared the lemon icebox pie as the chef told us it was his favorite. It was also about 3 inched thick and loaded with lemon flavor and a thick graham crust. The staff was wonderful, the owners delighful. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
