MY REVIEW: Wow, I just finished my take out lunch. Unbeleivalble! I have been to the restraunt many times and have always been more than satisfied. I have not been to The Lodge in about a month and todays lunch was exceptional! We had the chicken club and had the arugula lettece substituted for spinach and the poblano soup. Every bite from my co-worker and myself was mmmmmmm so good!
The Lodge did it again.

MY REVIEW: It has been a long time since me and my husband have been able to enjoy a nice and quiet night alone. The first time me and my husband came to The Lodge was about 3 months ago and from the moment the host opened the door for me i felt like if i was at home, the ambient was lovely and very warm. We did not have to wait and it was a relief to finally find a restaurant that has waiters that don't mind giving a smile and genunely enjoy serving.
The food was exquisite and the manager even took the time from the busy night to come and greet us and make sure that we were being well take care of. I would definately recommend The Lodge to anyone who is looking to have a quiet romatic dinner with they're significant other , or a nice dinner that you may enjoy with your family.

MY REVIEW: I have eaten at the lodge and it has been above my expectations every time. Recently I have been and notice a change in the quality of food that is coming out of the kitchen. It is not the same I don't know what is going but we could tell the difference. It wasn't as flavorful, and everthing tasted bland, not seasoned. It was missing some love for sure. Hope they can fix this

MY REVIEW: I go for the Gumbo, central La. style just the way I like it. Great place, and I appreciate the personal attention. I've been when everything was perfect & I've been when it wasn't & still had an above average experience. Some really great, unique food choices...try the Steak on Steak, "c'est bon!" (it's on the lunch menu) Grateful it's nearby & I love the setting! See you there!

MY REVIEW: Based on the high recommendation of a friend, as well as these reviews, we decided to change to this venue for our monthly dinner out with another set of over-busy parents. Generally, The Lodge fulfilled our desire for a 'grown-up' place to relax; nice, low-light ambiance; friendly but soft spoken and efficient waitstaff; good wine selection; creative but not ridiculous menu choices. Getting more specific, our initial impression was one of slight disappointment, as the reception area was somewhat blah - dingy even. However, once led through the 'lodge' to our table, the setting, along with our impression, improved dramatically.
An unpretentious, panneled, multi-level converted house (a big house), provided a dignified yet very comfortable setting. Even the accoustics were appreciated, as we sat amidst several other occupied tables and scarcely heard anything above a murmer. I thoroughly enjoyed the grilled romaine and goat cheese salad (the lettuce really is grilled and the result is amazing), and the grilled salmon was very pleasing. The portions are substantial, but not impossible. We were dressed in business casual; however, one would be equally comfortable in either nice jeans or evening attire. I would recommend this restaurant for business luncheons, as well as evenings out. If you bring kids, you may want to request a secluded table for your own peace of mind. We will, I suspect, become regulars.

MY REVIEW: We ( my husband and I ) went Saturday nite with some out of town guests. They are from Dallas and are very discriminating so we had to be careful of our choice of restaurants and we did'nt want to hear about it all night. Well , we did hear about it all night, IN A GOOD WAY. We'd been to The Lodge a couple of times before and really liked it, and Saturday nite was no exception. I had the grilled salmon, my husband the NY Strip, our friends choose to go cajun and got trout pontchatrain, crawfish pie, etouffe', along with pork chops . ( what??) They're from Dallas, remember? HA !They really enjoyed their selections, as we did with ours. My husband said his strip was one of the best tasting steaks he has had in a while. Our friends also liked the up close and personal feel of the place, its as close to being invited to someones house for dinner as you can get, really a change from the chain restaurants, which are good, don't get me wrong, but sometimes we just like something different. Thanks to The Lodge's manager and her staff for making our Saturday nite a good one. See you again.

MY REVIEW: Finally!!!!! We live in the Champions area and for years had to drive downtown to enjoy a night out. Now we just go down the street. Every time we have gone the food has been outstanding and the service is nothing short of impeccable. The steaks are top quality and the seafood specials are better than any seafood house can drum up. Last night they had live entertainment that was very nice, not to loud, just added enjoyment to a truely fantastic evening. We recommend you try this place, the ambiance alone is worth walking in the door, they treat you like royalty.

MY REVIEW: Very disappointing. Don't believe the hype. The ambience was just ok, the service was very SLOW & the food was just ok. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks & 40 minutes to get our food. The waitress never came by. The Wilted Spinach salad wasn't wilted. It was just a spinach salad. The filet mignon was just ok, nothing special. The smashed potatoes were tasteless. The Gumbo was pretty good, but the Jambalaya & Crawfish Pie were just ok. This is supposed to be such a nice place & yet the glass candle holder on our table was broken & a fellow diner had to get up & get salt & pepper shakers from another table because they didn't have any & his waitress never came by either. Don't waste your time or money.

MY REVIEW: Every time we come here, the food is awesome and the waitstaff is courteous and professional without being formal and detached. I'm glad to see more and more people are coming in and showing up as regulars. And now that they've added live music, it provides a welcomed variety. Now, if we want a nice dinner, a delicious brunch or even a relaxing evening with dinner, drinks and jams, we've got it all in one place. We're looking forward to our next visit.

MY REVIEW: We were very well received when we arrived and were seated in a cozy room lined with books and decorative objects. We were well attended to by our waiter. He was very well informed about the dishes and offered a few tips to make sure all our visits are an optimum experience. The martinis from the bar were exquisite. But the food was the best part. The steak was the tenderest and the quail was sublime!
On a minor note, there was a large group that included several children that entered during our visit. They were seated in a centrally located "pit" and were quite cacophonous. But that's an all-too-common experience in Houston so one must learn to adapt. Still, I'm hopeful this develops into the kind of establishment frequented by experienced and considerate patrons inclined to leave the brats at home.
At any rate, the experience was still quite good and we vowed to return again. It just so happens, we're doing so tonight.

MY REVIEW: What a great addition to the far North Houston area! My wife and I tried it on Saturday nite, after driving by it several time since its been open. First, we were greated by a gracious host ( young and energetic, not stuffy ) and promptly seated in an area with a nice view of the grounds. A short time later our waiter came by and took our drink order. The drinks seemed like they took a little long to arrive but the place was getting very busy in a hurry. My wife ordered the blackened chicken and pasta and I had the grilled trout with cajun rice and grilled veggies ( the peppers were awesome !!). We we both very pleased with our choices. We did not do dessert, but the table next to us was raiving about the bread pudding. We hung around after dinner a little longer than we normally do, I think mainly because we were really taken in by the uniqueness of the place and the crowd. All in all, very pleased and we are adding this place on our "to do" list.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have eaten all over the city. We recently discovered this jewel of a restaurant. Everything that we have had has been above our expectations. The crabcakes, and scallop special one evening was to die for. The coffee cured Ribeye the best I have ever eaten. Their is great talent in the kitchen we are happy to have something of this calibure on the northwest side of town. The place is like being in the hill country with a wonderful setting of oak trees and pine trees all around. Highly recommend

MY REVIEW: My family and I have been to the Lodge for several occasions including my birthday, a trip with my mother and another trip with my mother-in-law. The food is really great. I had the ribeye and it was wonderful... I know it was tender because I had a Lap-Band operation several years ago and I just can't eat meat that isn't tender. Also, the seafood gumbo was very tasty! The chocolate moose was very good as was the Spinach Au Gratin... that stuff is FINE! The potatoe soup is the best I've ever had! In all... a wonderful experience with the entertainment, fine food and quality service. Highly Recommended!

MY REVIEW: Nice Setting. My husband and I took a friend for dinner for her birthday. I don't think we will be going back. The noise level was so hight that we had to shout at each other to be heard. I had a splitting headace by the time we left. The service was very poor. We waited almost 30 minutes for our waiter to take our order. The food (I can only comment on what I had) was nothing outstanding. I had the salmon and it was over-cooked, had bones and was way too salty. We were told that if we mentioned that my friend was having a birthday, that they would comp her desert. When I looked at our bill, they had not. Lovely setting. I can only hope that they will improve.

MY REVIEW: I try to try something different each time I come, but I love the Blackened chicken and the steaks. Their crab cakes are great and i don't eat seafood. Beef carpachio is another one of my favorites. Service is good and the wait staff is friendly. I've tried the Sunday Brunch once and it was great too. We needed a good brunch places on this side of town and it seems that we have one now. Key Lime pie is the best!!
