MY REVIEW: Some dishes are very good depending on what you get. Ginger beef/chicken superb, tiger cry superb, pad thai (average), spring rolls (average)..This is one of the best thai restaurants in houston. Houston Thai restaurants are usually lacking compared to Detroit.

MY REVIEW: V’s Thai Restaurant is a rare gem on the west side of Houston. Tucked in the corner of a small shopping center, this quaint and friendly locale has the best service in Asian food you can find in Houston. I have visited many other Thai restaurants around town but none have welcomed me back as much as V’s.

Vi will many times greet you personally with her infectious smile and friendly demeanor. She makes sure to promptly sit you down, get you your beverage of choice and is quick to tend to your every need. On the weekdays you can always find her ready to suggest many of her great dishes.

One thing I always come back for is the Thai Papaya Salad (Sum Tum), it has just the right amount of sweet and sour flavor. Sticking true to its Thai roots, I always have mine made delectably spicy. Another great salad choice is the Lab made with beef; it is filling yet quite light. If you’re looking for something a little heartier you can’t go wrong with the Pad Woon Sen, a stir fried blend of glass noodles, vegetables and your choice of meat. Be adventurous and make sure to get a combination of all the meats available. It is to die for!

To top off the dinner or lunch don’t forget to order a refreshing Thai tea which can be your dessert beverage of choice or can be added to enhance her many great desserts. The Thai tea is exceptional but you can’t pass up the Ice Cream with Sweet Sticky Rice, the Thai version of Neapolitan ice cream. Three scoops of Asian inspired flavors, mango, taro and of course coconut. You can’t go wrong with this sweet dish.

Make sure to come here if you’re looking to get your fix of authentic Thai food. Be sure to ring her bell by buying a round of cocktails, she’ll make sure to take one with you too!

MY REVIEW: I finally went last night, having passed this restaurant a number of times (Northeast corner of Dairy Ashford @ Westheimer). Not your typical Thai place. Well lit, neat as a pin, limited decor and playing country/western music (Client request, they said). There is a bar that was well populated at the back.

The food was first rate. I told my waitress that I liked it spicy and they did not let me down. Had some beginner Thai food because it was my first vitis and it was exceptional. Chicken Satays had a nice crusting of spice that was packed with galangal; asked for the chili paste to add to the peanut sauce because it was a bit tame and sweetish. Then had the Masaman Thai (spicy) and Tiger Cry. The Tiger Cry came and was char grilled to perfection - so that you could taste the grill - and had a little fat on one end that - while I cut it off - added that perfect flavor to it. The Chili-Lime relish was addictive - like Thai chimichurri....I could eat it by the car load. The Curry was nicely spicy and delicious - not overly sweet or gloppy like many coconut milk curries. My only complaint was that the potatoes were not cooked as soft as most Americans like them, but it is true to the cuisine.

V came out of the kitchen to ask how everything was. I mentioned that I would love to find a place that makes Thai street food - so strong, spicy and vibrant. She laughed and said if I like that, call ahead and she would make something for me. I cannot wait.

The service - best and friendliest of any asian restaurant in Houston. Food- superior. I can't wait to go back. Again and again and again.

MY REVIEW: After reading all these good reviews, I wanted to try it. V's is very non-descript from the outside, plain-jane decor on the inside, but I must say, the food was outstanding - the best Thai I've had in Houston yet.

Menu was extensive. My friends and I tried the Pad Thai, glass noodles, Tiger Cry beef, and soft rice-paper rolls. Each dish comes with your choice of meat or vegetarian. They are big enough for at least 2 people to share. Delicious food, and we took some home for lunch the next day.

We went on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to catch a really good dance band after dinner. After a while tables were moved outside to make room for dancing, and it turned into a fun party! Highly recommended!

MY REVIEW: This is one of the first things I did when I got power back. The day after Hurricane Ike, V's was one of the few places in the western part of Houston to be able to serve food, and V's was cooking and cooking ferociously. People crowded into the restaurant, and they cooked and cooked GREAT food for as much as they had. had the Pad Thai beef, Pad see yew, and some stir fry veggies. Thanks V's, for providing such delicious food on a day where people were on their last nerves!

MY REVIEW: Nice ambiance, comfy and makes you feel at home. Menu has lots of choices that include homestyle food as well as the usual americanized versions of thai food. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful tom yum goong. We also ordered larb or lab, great flavor one of the better renditions of this dish I've had. Next time I'll have to ask for "thai" hot. Staff was friendly and the cook came and asked how the food was. Also can't beat the fact that this place has a full bar, which to me is a great concept. I look forward to our next visit!

MY REVIEW: Decided to try this place based on the reviews. I absolutely love Thai food. I think if I had to pick just one dish for the rest of my life it would be red curry. And this place has awesome red curry. My husband had the green curry, which was also delicious, with a hint of mint and a good punch of chili. For a starter we tried the pork jerky, which is really pork that has been deep fried (no batter) until it is a bit hard and crunchy on the outside, but with a soft centre. It was really good! We sat outside and enjoyed a rare not-too-hot day, and service was very good. I have been to cheaper thai places, but this is by all means reasonable and you really get what you pay for, especially when it comes to the quality of the chicken. We also brought home more than 2/3 of the main course, so we will have a nice lunch tomorrow! We will definitely return to try more of their delicious looking menu!

MY REVIEW: By far the best Thai food in Houston. If you like sweets, try the Thai tea, it's fantastic. The great food and the mom 'n pop feel of the restaurant make for a great experience. And at night it turns into a bar! If you are a newcomber, make sure to ask to meet V if she is there. You will fall in love with her.

MY REVIEW: I've been going to V's for a bit more than a year now, when I'm at home in Houston. During the rest of the year, I'm in Missouri attending school and miss it dearly. There's no substitution for V's meals, the dishes are always hot, prepared fresh and fast, and delicious from beginning to end. It's very hard to pick a favorite dish, because the variety is what makes V's so great. There's a dish for everyone, from those who love spicy curries to those who just want a mild pad thai. The thai tea served at V's is also some of the best I've ever had. Never too sweet, always just strong enough. As for the ambiance, the restaurant staff is always friendly and helpful, everything is always clean, and there's just a great feel to the place. Definitely my favorite Thai place in Houston!

MY REVIEW: Great food! If you like Thai food or ever wanted to try Thai food this is the place to go. It has a small and nice cozy atmosphere. I live out of town, otherwise I would always go to V's. When I have a Thai food craving I immediately think of this place first. The price is reasonable if not a bargain and I'm just getting hungry thinking about the food. Pad Thai and all the curries are delicious. Try the green curry! I give it a A+ and one of my top 10 favorite restaurants in Houston.

MY REVIEW: This place has the most delicious Thai food I've had in Houston. The restaurant has a very friendly, almost family like atmosphere, where you can relax and whine down after a long or good day. If you're looking for a place for good Thai food and a place to have a good time with some buddies/family, this is a great place.

MY REVIEW: This was a great place to eat. Vy makes you feel like family even if you've just met her for the first time.

The menu has lots of variety, but I went with a group of regulars and they asked Vy to cook whatever she wanted.

She brought out this Tilapia, the likes of which I've never had! The green curry she brought out was green, spicy, and absolutely delicious! It was so good I asked for another bowl of rice and just ate the left over curry sauce after everyone was done.

I highly recommend it! It's not as pretty as T*ony Thai, but it taste a lot better.

MY REVIEW: V's is a great place to eat. The portions are good, the prices are rock bottom, and the food is to die for. This is a great place to have flavorful Thai. The staff is very welcoming and are ready to give you suggestions if you have never had thai food before. I reccomend the green and pan-ang curries, which are the store's greatest assets. When mango is in season, i suggest the mango and sticky rice dessert, which will leave your taste buds shouting for more. The restaurant has a full bar, that many patrons utilize to it's fullest. The ambiance is very mellow and inviting, letting you relax while you eat your meal.

The only thing I find as a negative, is the fact that the kitchen is closed on sundays. Although the bar is open to customers, food is not prepared on sundays.

MY REVIEW: My absolute favorite place for Thai food in Houston. I've been going here on a regular basis with my friends since it opened. The food comes in large portions and usually hovers around the 7-12 dollar range per plate depending on what you order so it extremely well priced. You can order 4 dishes for 6 people, and easily have leftovers.

The panang curry is an absolute must try if you like creamy thai curries. The green curry is an excellent choice if you want to try something different. One of my other favorites is the tilapia with chili sauce (I don't think it's on the menu so you'll have to ask if they have it). V's also has a full bar and a few TV's as well, but the food there will command all of your attention. 100% of the people that I've brought to V's has gotten hooked. I make it a point to try new dishes every time I go and I still haven't found something that I don't like.

MY REVIEW: The absolute BEST Thai food in Houston! V (who is actually there cooking) cooks up some of the tastiest ANY kind of curry you will ever have, the veggies are fresh, the fish is flavourful (especially the fish in spicy sauce) and MAKE sure to finish up with mango and sweet rice!
