Friky Chicken

MY REVIEW: This place is great in my book--really tasty food, clean, friendly service and good prices. I stop in about twice a month and my family is always happy when I bring in bags of rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken, fried yucca, plantains, charro beans, etc. The sauces are self-serve, so while they're packing up my order I'm loading up on their sauces and all three are very good.
Wish they'd opened up in my neighborhood. Its worth the drive over there though.

MY REVIEW: The food at Friky Chicken is absolutely scrumptious, especially for the money that you are paying (an average meal is about $5 – $7). The rotisserie chicken - their main specialty - is bursting with flavor. The chicken is cooked over coals, imparting a unique taste to the meat. The rotisserie comes in two flavors - regular and friky. The regular rotisserie is comparable to any good roasted chicken. If you are going for a unique taste experience, try their friky style chicken. This style of chicken is marinated in Mexican spices that will not disappoint those who have a penchant for spicy foods, and yet it is not so spicy that it will overwhelm people who don't have much tolerance for heat.
Aside from their chicken, their borracho beans rival those of the best Mexican restaurants, and their fried plantain is just plain fried heaven. In a city inundated with over processed fast food, it’s nice to have an eating establishment that gives fast friendly service, but at the same time doesn't produce food that tastes like the imitation artificial garbage normally served at fast food establishments.
The environment is your typical cafe setting. It is simple and clean. The staff is quite congenial, and the manager (or the lady managing the register) is quite pretty (I know that might be unrelated to the food, but it is an incentive for you guys to try the place). This has to be one of the best rotisserie places in town.

MY REVIEW: The chicken is very good! The Mexican grilled chicken is very smoky and moist. The rotisserie chicken is good, but comparable to others. I have never had anything like the grilled chicken, though. The sides were very good, too, especially the pinto beans.

MY REVIEW: Another rotisserie chicken place, plus they have grilled chicken as well. Get a quarter, half or whole chicken with sides, or by itself.
The grilled chicken was good, and I liked the sides. The pinto beans were 'frijoles borracho', soupy beans with lots of fat back and peppers.
I love rotisserie chicken, and will be adding Friky Chicken to the (heh) rotation (El R*y, F*esta supermarkets, etc.)
