MY REVIEW: Sushi was exellent, it is my first time eating sushi since i move from downtown to NW houston area not long ago. my friends recommend me to come and try this place. Compare to where i ate in downtown, their food is pretty close!! the fish is so fresh, the sushi rice just right! no stick or blend. I saw they got hibachi room, i definately go back with my girlfriend, also she like Japanese grill, too. We move down here and we will visit you more often until you remember my name.

MY REVIEW: Went tonight with the fiance' to get a small taste of "normalcy" after Ike since all of the "usual" places had 2 hour waits or no power.
I enjoyed myself very much, the food was outstanding and the service was very good. Our server was a bit apathetic but it was late in the evening and he was still efficient. The prices were reasonable, the menu had something for everyone, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable.
We had the shimp wrap appetizer, coconut soup, onion soup, red curry chicken and peanut chicken. The two of us shared everything and agreed that everything was worth ordering. We will definately be back, soon. They have an all you can eat sushi special on Sundays and Mondays, I'd like to try to get my money's worth.

MY REVIEW: Simply WOW the food was great, far better than Benni-whatever it is! Upon first entering the resturant to my dismay there were less than 12 people in the whole place. So like my wife has always said, "not too many people, the food can't be good" but I decided to give it a try. If not for the reviews that I read on this website, I probably would have went somewhere else so I did try it and loved it. Was glad I did, prices compairable with all the others, great service and excellent food. Thank you to Duane our chef.

MY REVIEW: happy hour is the only reason to go to this place..can't beat the cheap but decent sushi. the service sucks and it takes forever for the waiter to come by and serve re-fills. however, for cheap sushi that's right by the house, i'll keep coming back, regardless of bad service.

MY REVIEW: The habatchi was VERY good. Not bland like Shoguns or Hido's. Flavored just right. I split a habatchi meal with a friend and there was still more than enough to fill us. The sushi was alright. Had a lot of special rolls that I am looking forward to trying as well. Green tea fried ice cream is very yummy as well. I will come back!

MY REVIEW: We just move to this area, then we give bonsai a try. All we can say...very pleasure! we sat in hibachi, but also order sushi. Many sushi items to choose from, we ordered the bonsai signature item, it was very tasty and presentation(not like other sushi around that area...there are no taste), then we ordered filet mignon and lobster, the chef is very polite and enteraining. their fried rice is to die for, the food is good quality and, the price also cheaper than other japanese restaurant around. Next time we gonna try fusion food...see you soon!!

MY REVIEW: Very good sushi! Interesting names for some of the sushi items (there's even a "Copperfield", which is very good, I might add!). It took a while to decipher through the menu...I have to admit, it was overwhelming at first. But, after trying a variety of sushi items we were pleasantly surprised! The food was presented very nicely too, I might add.
The staff was very nice. The waitress asked what we were looking for and took the time to go through the menu to point out specific items we might like. She even bowed to us, which I thought was really cute.
Prices were a little high for our taste. The kids menu was especially expensive! We opted for an appetizer to split among our children, to try and save in cost.
Overall, though, it was very good and we will for sure go back!

MY REVIEW: Grandson was visiting last week on his annual stay with us and wanted Japanese steakshouse for his graduation present. We went to Bonsai. We had a wonderful time. We are going back today. We will probably have the same as we had last time: filet (x2) and pettite filet + shrimp with fried rice. If this trip is as good as last, we will probably go again before Grandson returns home to Mama and Papa.

MY REVIEW: The food is always amazing! We just moved to the Copperfield area from downtown and have been searching for a hibachi style restaurant. The decor, ambiance, food, and friendliness are fabulous...all of the time! You'd think every employee owned the place. If its date night you can dress up or you can wear flip-flops if its not. If you're looking for a good laugh and some interesting conversation....ask for Duane! I warn you...hes all about preparing food and having it dance on your taste buds ..not so much into the whole entertaining/show thing but definitely all about the food!=) Hes our guy (we just love him) and he always "lights up" our evening.... literally! The salad is served with a ginger dressing that is heavenly and the teriyaki flavored menu items are....scrumptious! Also...my favorite thing about Fusion other than the food is the saki. For all you ladies... they have flavored saki!!!! Yes...flavored! I usually order Plum or Passion fruit. I can't recall which one but its purple. Duane already knows which one I like so I rarely have to order it by name. If you live in this area you are doing yourself a great injustice by not going! Go and enjoy!=)

MY REVIEW: We ate at Bonsai for the first time on a Saturday evening. It’s probably the closest sushi restaurant near our house. We decided to give this one a try as we’ve tried every other sushi place in the Copperfield/Bear Creek area.
We were surprised at how many cars were in the parking lot. The décor was contemporary/asian. I liked it very much. They ask if you want hibachi or a booth. We opted for the booth as sushi is what we were there for.
We ordered seaweed salad and 4 rolls: Bakery Roll, Spider roll, Dragon and I’m forgetting the last one we ordered. Regardless, all of them were very good except the Spider…it was ok. We’ve had better. The Bakery Roll was probably the most different roll I’ve ever had. It’s filled with cream cheese…which I absolutely love and it was pretty cheap for the # of pieces you get. The prices overall were very good here.
I’d recommend giving Bonsai a try!

MY REVIEW: i have tried bonsai several times with my family. although i also like sushi, my trips there are usually for the hibachi grill. i believe that i have tried out all three chefs at that restaurant and i clearly have a favorite. i won't tell you his name because i want everyone to find out on their own (he's the young one).
the best part of my meal were the vegetables, i couldn't get enough of them but i also enjoyed my shrimps. Although the shows at bonsai aren't as impressive as other places... they are ahead when it comes to taste for me.
my only complaint is the average wait time on friday night. that is the reason we usually never request a chef because it might take us an extra half hour of waiting. I like the family environment that the restaurant has. an extra bonus is the birthday cake and candle. its better than what you get at most places.

MY REVIEW: I LOVE THIS PLACE! i cannot get enough of FUSION! omg... the best ever! i loved b*enihana's but this place topped it off! it's soooo much cheaper than "B" and their rice is INCREDIBLE! i had lobster the last time i went there... i didn't like it.. but then again.. it was my first time eating lobster as well...
GO FOR HABACHI SHRIMP W/ FRIED RICE! sushi is AWESOME! omg... i'm actually going to go in a couple of minutes! I WANT TO GO THERE UNTIL THEY REMEMBER ME! awesome place!

MY REVIEW: This is a pretty cool place. The hibachi chef was nice, the wait staff was excellent. The decor / ambiance is standard for a strip-center restaurant in the 'burbs, so it's not necessarily an 'experience' restaurant, but I was just there for the food anyway!
The sushi was EXCELLENT, I had salmon, yellowtail, ahi, and white tuna sashimi and it was all buttery soft and really good. I also had this "tempura roll" with salmon, crab, and asparagus with eel sauce and it was GREAT! My husband got the hibachi shrimp and filet combo and it was okay but not fabulous. However, for me, the great sushi more than made up for it. (Good miso and edamame too).
We'll go again, as it's a nice treat and we don't have to drive all the way into Houston.

MY REVIEW: Its a great place.. Most hibachi are just show and the food sucks.. Well the food here is top notch.. I have never had hibachi that was this good... even down to the rice I could make a meal out of it.
When you go make sure you bring your hunger, i can barely finish the portions and i get the Fillet... (ask for extra butter on it)
We will never go any where else. From the people to the food to the green tea ice cream..
we usually eat there about 2x to 3x a month. its great!
Though the only down side is the hibachi is not very showy...But who cares they are focusing on making the food taste great! other places give you all show and basically card board to eat.

MY REVIEW: I eat sushi several times a week and use to go to another place three or four times a week. I have switched favorite restaurants and now I go to Bonsai all the time for the following reasons. Great ownership, great staff, and great food. To top it of the restaurant continues to evolve. They have upgraded the inside and the menu.
Keep up the good work and thanks for feeding me.

MY REVIEW: Usually, the service here is absolutely top-notch. We have never been on the hibachi side, but come often for the sushi. The sushi is ALWAYS excellent, fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. I have some dietary restrictions (no soy sauce, no breaded items is just the beginning), but they are happy to prepare items with modifications for me. This customer service attitude is very much appreciated, because without it, my menu options would be extremely limited.
Unfortunately, the last TWO times we have been to Bonsai, the timing of the preparation and service has been way off. Tonight the restaurant was not crowded at all, and we brought my mother who ordered from the fusion menu. Her meal was served right away, even before the sushi maki we ordered as starters. She was more than half through with her entire meal before the maki arrived. After the maki was brought out, there was another long wait for the sushi combination selections to be served. We were told there was a problem with the sushi preparation because they only had one sushi chef tonight. That is the same thing we were told on our last visit, which was a much busier evening. That last time, we had to ask for one of the items we had ordered 4 times (after all the rest of the order had been served) before it was brought to the table.
I'm afraid I am beginning to see an unfortunate pattern at Bonsai. If this trend continues, we will be shopping for another sushi place in the Cy-Fair area, which would be very unfortunate due to the consistent excellence of the food and the willingness to make adjustments to the preparation for my needs.

MY REVIEW: My experience was overall great at Bonsai. It started out with a bit of a wait though but it wasn't too bad considering that it was a Friday night. The funny thing about our experience there was that the waiter that took our orders and got our drinks, he ended up being our chef also. I guess they were short on staff or something. Don't get the wrong idea though, the food was excellent and I plan on coming back again soon.

MY REVIEW: This restaurant offers a great experience. I have been several times with my girlfriend and we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We tried hibachi the first time and our chef was extremely friendly. Although the show was pretty brief with our chef, he more than made up for it with his personality.
Then I sat out on the patio on my second visit and tried the sushi. This has to be one of the best place to get fresh sushi on this side of town. They had too many specialty rolls to choose from but i didn't mind.
On my last visit so far, I tried a sweet chili seafood plate from the fusion menu. This dish blew me out of the water. I have never had anything like that before. I hope this review was helpful because I would highly recommend this place.
