MY REVIEW: The only reason I would ever add a review to this site is if I have been really impressed or really disappointed.
Let me start with: I really like Kenzo. I like that its something a bit different than Katy is used to, its got a good vibe, the food is yummy, and its friendly and kinda cool.
BUT - the service is frustrating. Even when ordered as an appetizer, the edamame shows up with your meal. There where people at our table still enjoying the main course, while the waiter was asking about dessert. The service was inattentive (they asked us to taste the wine, but poured it before we had a chance to try it), and adequate at best.
I do have to say though, I will be back. But not because of the service. Only because there is a lot to be desired in Katy...

MY REVIEW: With all fairness to the review before me,
First, I understand that bad service always get you nerve, and after that everything else always gone down hill.
Second, I don't eat seafood, only red meat. I love steak, but my wife loves sushi. We usually drive to beltway 8 from here (katy) to eat steak at P*erry's.
But when my wife wants sushi, we always go to Kenzo, then I order the steak, mostly the filet. Their steak it's a great piece of meat, and always cook to perfection, the petite vegetables it's a matter of personal preference.
They have alot of ala carte sides choices if your veggies it's not enough.
Sorry, I feel like have to defend one of my favorite place to eat. BUT, I do agree that sometimes the service need a lot of improvement. Better luck next time.

MY REVIEW: Well, I was surprised to see so many great reviews for this place being that we had a horrible experience here. To start the service was HORRIBLE. There was a group of 8 and our husbands had to get up an get our drinks from the bar at least 3 times. One of our salads ordered never made it to the table. Many of the couples ordered filet mingnon and lobster tail and can you beleive they forgot the lobster. The filets and lobsters were average and the petite vegetables were a joke. After waiting forever for the food to come out and a night of poor service we got the bill. It was over 400 dollars (which would have been fine if the food would have been good). We will never go back. Poor service and average food...I don't think so.

MY REVIEW: Kenzo is GREAT sushi. I live in Austin and always complain when I go visit my parents that there are no good restaurants in Katy, especially sushi. However, I will say I was VERY impressed with Kenzo. It's a good atmosphere and they have a really good selection of specialty roles. If your a sushi fan, and live in the Katy area this is the place to go.

MY REVIEW: Great new addition to Katy! Sushi was very fresh. There were other items on the menu besides sushi to try as well. Service was attentive and professional. Liked the interior decorartion. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. we will recommend this Sushi Restaurant. We will be back.

MY REVIEW: we live in denver co, fortunate enough to be able traveling around the US very often, specially east coast big cities and west coast. we come to Houston once a year to visit my brother and his family, they live in katy. last weekend they took us to Kenzo, Wow it's amaze me how katy has this type of restaurant. very nice atmosphere, great decor, wonderful menu.
I went strickly sushi that night, it was five star quality, very creative rools, nice cuts of sashimi and nigiri. Quality, 2thumbs up. My wife ate something w lobster entree, it was over the top, and very elegance plating. Definitely will come back next year when we visit my brother again.
We had a great time there, highly recommended for romantic evening, and family dinner.

MY REVIEW: Great new addition to Katy! Sushi was very fresh and lots to choose from. There were plenty of other items on the menu besides sushi to try as well. Martini and drink menu was great. Service was quick and professional. Liked the interior decor as well. We will definitely be back. It was a little pricey but it was worth it.

MY REVIEW: i highly disagree with the comment below mine. you eat sushi 3 times a month, ok i eat sushi 3 times a week and i can tell u kenzo specialty rolls are the best i've ever had, i recommend their school bus. the niguri i would say is high quality and very fresh. they also have great miso soup and their house salad is to die for. for a dessert i would say try the creme brule! becareful the food is addicting. the staff is very friendly...this is a restuarant to come back for second, thirds, fourths...ect

MY REVIEW: For people that want strictly Sushi this would not be the place to go. After looking around the place most people were eating the entrees so if that is what you are wanting maybe this would be for you. As for the sushi the plain rolls were terribly overpriced. We eat sushi at least 3 times a month and usually like to get at least of couple of signature rolls but not here. The signature rolls were overdone and fussy like they tried to throw everything in so that they could charge 18 dollars for them. We also tried the nigiri and the fish was not of the best quality. Definely won't be returning for sushi. As for the edamame it was soggy and the beef tataki was the worst nand both again were overpriced.

MY REVIEW: I love sushi so i was definitely waiting for kenzo to open in katy. They didn't disappoint me once so ever, the food was amazing, the service was even better. It may be a little pricy but was totally worth it. Our waitress was young yet very friendly and had a great personality, she made us feel very welcomed to the restuarant.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I have been to Kenzo twice. The food is a bit pricey, but worth every penny in my opinion. If you want to avoid having to drive into Houston for a great meal, I would suggest trying Kenzo. Only low point, as seen in some of the other reviews, is the somewhat spotty service. On one visit my wife and I received very attentive service eating at the bar. The next visit was a bit different when we sat in the main dining room. All of that aside, the food is definitely worth trying. I highly recommend the filet (yes, a steak that rivals those of some of the better steakhouses in town!)

MY REVIEW: We live close to the restaurant and went there for lunch a few days ago. The restaurant looks great and deco is nice. I ordered udon - noodle soup and my husband ordered the chicken katsu. The price is $12 for each item, which is very expensive for this type of food at lunch time. I was expecting something special, but the noddle soup presentation was not good, and it was very salty and tasted like pure soy sauce . The chicken katsu was bland and portion was small.
Overall the experience was disappointing. Go there if you are looking for great ambiance but I don't recommend anyone going there for the food.

MY REVIEW: My wife and I live close by and have been patiently waiting for this place to open for awhile. As with the other review we had no clue it was actually open till we drove by. Were seated by a great hostess, and then the wait began. Even though the restaurant was about 50% full on a Friday night we waited for over eight minutes to be recognized by the manager. Once the manager took our drink orders our waiter brought them back and revealed to us he knew absolutely nothing about the menu. I am not a big sushi eater and he definitely did not help me in overcoming my sushi ineptitude. All in all we thought the menu was weak, over-priced, and the food was nothing special. The atmosphere was great, and we will make sure we look at it through the windows the next time we are in the neighborhood on our way to the restaurant next door.

MY REVIEW: It was a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff was extra friendly. Although everything was very nice and romantic, I did find that the place seem a little disorganized and there were too many staff wandering around. It was there grand opening yet there was no sign to be found whether if it was open or not.
