MY REVIEW: This was the most tragic meal of my entire life. Hostess not present. Waitstaff was horrid. We waited 20 mins to get ANYTHING to drink at all. Bread was never offered to our table. When we finally did get the bread after 2 requests for it, it was cold and hard. Tried to order 3 different salads, they said they were out of all of them ... but I was welcome to wait 30 mins while they made one. Scallop app. was a joke. Diver scallops? They were small for BAY scallops. Chef has a heavy hand with the salt, and doesn't show much pride in his plating. Food was cold, veggies were old and tasteless ... $125 later my husband and I went home hungry and upset. Never again.

MY REVIEW: We remember the original Ernie's on Fairmont and were lured back to the new location. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building and the location, Ernies is now upscale more than ever before.
We had salads on the first visit and hot meals on the next two visits. The Rodeo Salad is our long time favorite, and it is better than ever. The shrimp is tremendous and the top notch steak will melt in your mouth. The mashed potatoes are enough for two.
I really like the interior lighting, the music is lite rock and pop from the 80's and the aquarium and fireplace will be very nice to dine by as well. Pasadena is full of convenience food and fast food businesses, and Ernie's is neither. The total dining time is not what they offer at C*asa Ole' Go enjoy the atmosphere and the time spent. We met two of the owners while there on our second visit and the couple were most interested in our overall experience.
We did see one dessert created table side for one group, it smelled of apple pie, cinnamon and ice cream. I was far to stuffed to enjoy, but perhaps next time...
Weak points? Create a patio fireplace like F*lemmings in The Woodlands. That'd be a nice place to enjoy an evening meal!

MY REVIEW: i agree with others; service was terrible, waiter rude, dont know about quality of food; we left before getting anyone to wait on us. we sat for over 20 minutes for someone to come to our table just for drink order; when we decided to leave instead of waiting any longer, the waiter came and tried to get us to stay and wanted to know what the problem was. we told him 20 min. and no service; and left. It was not crowded. i was so disappointed as i was waiting for Ernie's to finally open again after all this time; and sitting that long allowed us to read the menu; not any thing like old menu with great food; now its pricey at best and didnt see anything i was interested in eating. We were looking forward to another good restaurant in pasadena; but will not go back unless something changes for the better.

MY REVIEW: I honestly don't know what people are complaining about. My food was absolutely spectacular for Pasadena and the service was great, although my iced tea was allowed to get empty once. But that's not really a big deal. The wine selection was great. The desserts were awesome.
I will definitely be back again.

MY REVIEW: Wait for a table took longer than we were told. Once seated it took the waiter 5 minutes to get to our table. After ordering food it took one hour for it to arrive at the table and the steak was not cooked to order. Had to ask for refills on tea and water and the place was noisy due to personnel dropping things in the back. Don't think I will go back any time soon. Very pricey for what you get.

MY REVIEW: The service was good and atmosphere was nice although the restaurant was very chilly. We had a variety of items from the menu including appetizers, salads and desserts. The appetizers were OK but the salads and desserts were awesome. For the most part, our entrees were tasty but the temperature of the food was not up to par. Our fish was warm at best and the cheese would not melt on my baked potato. The mashed potatoes had bacon in them which wasn't mentioned on the menu and one person in our party does not eat meat. I understand that chicken fried steak was very good. Overall, the restaurant was pricey and I don't think I will visit it again.

MY REVIEW: Ordered "To Go", had to wait 5 minutes and many transfers, but once connected very polite. Husband had Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatos, green beans - all were good. I had Shrimp Brochette w/veg medely. Shrimp were ok but not worth the price, bacon was very under cooked, veggies were limp & old. Joe,the bartender, was great, very nice personality. May visit agian later.

MY REVIEW: Strong points:Quality of food was top notch.
Weak points:Well, I don't know where to start...first off, it took over 10 minutes after I was seated to be served. Then, the waitress kept letting my drink get empty. She also turned in the order on my steak incorrectly. The steak was sitting in grease when I got it...was also slightly over cooked. Then, there were a couple of bus boys cussing as I was trying to eat! When I complained to the manager, all I got was 10% off my meal after all of the screw ups. I will NEVER eat at this establishment again. I had high hopes for Ernie's when it reopened after several years. It used to be a place that I would frequently go to, but not anymore.
