Profile Description: Brenner’s On the Bayou is situated on a picturesque retreat on Houston’s Buffalo Bayou, near Bayou Bend off Memorial Drive. The 2-story dining room offers breathtaking views of lushly landscaped rolling grounds, a waterfall and gazebo. Dine on a variety of steak and seafood entrees, plus classic Brenner's favorites such as Crunchy German Potatoes, Homemade Roquefort Salad Dressing and the incomparable Apple Strudel. This location features a cozy cocktail lounge, wine cellar and patio.
MY REVIEW: I was VERY disappointed with Brenner's. I was with 11 people for a business dinner. The waiter was very nice, but a little pushy with high price items. I had a filet that was very salty and I even like salt! The side items where salty and The lobster bisque was luke warm as well. The grounds are beautiful as is the inside décor. However, as typical "Landry's" company has taken over a beautiful location with half-rate food :(

MY REVIEW: My family had brunch at Brenner's and we were very disappointed by the ambiance and food. The restaurant was rather hot and the music was too loud. Bisque was cold and the meat overcooked. With all the great steak restaurants in this town, go somewhere else!!

MY REVIEW: This old R*ainbow Lodge location is still as beautiful as always. The ambiance is drawing card here. If you have never been to #1 Birdsall, I suggest that for the next special event.. try this romantic, special occasion place, tucked in the woods off Memorial Drive.. The food was good, the service warm, prompt and friendly. And COSTLY. The original steakhouse on Katy Road was family owned/operated and was the best in town for forty year. It was sold to a big Corporation and bottom line profits seems to be the focus. The food is standard Landry's GOOD not great!
I must add that for many years my family went to the R*ainbow Lodge monthly, it was less about the food and all about affortablility and the view! Ambiance, if you will!
My only wish it that this new place offered a more affortable fare for this family of four!

MY REVIEW: Took my family here for my son's 18th birthday because we loved it as R*ainbow Lodge and the atmosphere is terrific for a special occaison. My son and husband shared the bonein ribeye special and loved it. The dog got the bone. I had the Australian lobster and it was so-so. I've cooked Maine lobster at home and it tasted better. Overall, the food was good, but it is extremely expensive. My only real complaint is the music. It was very, very loud and by the end of the meal my ears were numb. I requested it be turned down, but it was not. I spoke to the chef on the way out and he said he'd look into it. Didn't sound very convincing. I would not recommend having a quiet, intimate conversation here. Otherwise, if the music could be managed, a good romantic spot.

MY REVIEW: This was my first time there and i took someone special for their birthday. I must say I could NOT have picked a better place with a better setting with better service. The wine we started with was the Resling and was perfect for an appetizer. I was told the Lobster dish was incredible, not to mention the lobster bisc. The steak a 16oz New York was the most flavorfull i have found and mash potatoes topped it off. The staff was great from calling to make reservations to keeping water filled. I will and do recommend this place to anyone and everyone. You will not be disappointed but highly impressed. It seems like a little hidden secret in Houston.

MY REVIEW: in town, great service, beautiful setting, and tasty food. The spinach artichoke appetizer is excellent, but leave room for the steaks!

MY REVIEW: Strong points- ask to meet chef Grant Hunter. He made us feel special and at home every time we ate at Vic and Anthony's Houston (we eat there once a week).
Brenner's on the Bayou is a must eat just for that.
