MY REVIEW: This has to be one of the hidden gems in the dessert business. FIRST, the Galleria location and the University location are totally different experiences. We had been to the Westheimer location a number of times and decided to try the University location. We walked in, saw that it was different, and drove to the Galleria.

What can be wrong with getting to taste as much of the frozen yogurt as you want before building that perfect dessert? We like some flavors, don't like others. I think there are 12 to choose from! You then get to build the perfect sundae, putting in as many flavors as you wish. Once you have the base, you then have to choose from countless toppings including fresh fruit, captain crunch, fruity pebbles, cookie dough, chocolate chips, gummy bears, etc. etc. You have to try the peanut butter with captain crunch!

It can be a bit pricey if you load up on the yogurt. However, if you are reasonable, you should be able to have a great dessert between $4 and $5. Have you been 31 flavors and ordered a sundae lately??? Much better deal at Swirl.

MY REVIEW: I don't know what is wrong with you people! I think you like T*BY because it is sweet like ice cream. This frozen yogurt is not meant to be as sweet. Swirll is true frozen "yogurt". If you buy regular yogurt at the store it has a tart and sweet taste to it. The expense is that it is "true" yogurt and not a bunch of sugar! Sugar is cheap! It is definitely a different taste because it is supposed to taste like yogurt, not ice cream. I think you should try it again with a different attitude toward what it is meant to be. My husband and I absolutely love Swirll. We go at least once a week and take a pint home for the rest of week when we crave it. We had been looking for frozen yogurt like this since we went to California. Swirll ROCKS!

MY REVIEW: I tasted the green tea and pomegranate flavors and threw it away immediately. The restaurant and advertising is aesthetically pleasing and I think that's why it attracts customers. However, the yogurt is nothing special---in fact, it tasted quite horrible. I'm sticking with T*CBY.

They actually weigh the yogurt, which I think can turn off customers. It makes them look stingy when the yogurt is filled 80%. I suggest that they get smaller cups instead of weighing the yogurt.

MY REVIEW: Swirll's yogurts are mighty tasty, though you do have to like/be able to tolerate the subtle tartness of "true" yogurt (more like Acidophilus than pre-sweetened Dannon/Yoplait). Add-ins are a large and intriguing mix of fruits, candies, nuts, and sauces (the latter two of which I didn't try, since I generally think of them as toppings for ice cream or fast food restaurant soft-serve). They even have "mochi" cubes -- which, for those not in the know, is sweet rice "chewies", most commonly associated with Asian red-bean or shaved ice desserts. Swirll's ambience is spare and to-the-point. Though the furniture is minimal, it's hip, comfortable and conducive to mid-size to large group outings.

MY REVIEW: The yogurt is delicious - refreshing, light, healthy-seeming, and sweet. The help is really nice, too. I especially love the "yogurt buffet" design in the Gray St location. You can try all kinds of yogurt and mix and match to your heart's delight. It is pricey though; the yogurt probably costs cents to make, but they charge 5 bucks for a bowl. The prices could definitely come down to generate more business. That said, I definitely recommend the place to everyone!

MY REVIEW: Extremely friendly staff! Great place to study (free wi-fi), especially during the day at the newer Galleria and River Oaks stores! Tons of yogurt flavors (that appear to change out periodically) and fresh fruit toppings! YUM!

MY REVIEW: i agree with all reviews below. The yogurt IS good, light, and refreshing. But having to pay $5 for a small cup with a few toppings is ridiculous (like less than 10 pieces of cereal). 85 cents PER topping is ridiculous.

I would really like to see this place grow and would like to visit on a daily basis as it is close to my workplace. But Swirll is in need of good business tactics. Don't be cheap!

MY REVIEW: Definitely agree with all the reviews and thank goodness I read them before coming here. Yes, the yogurt is good but the prices for what you get is ridiculous! I experienced the "sketchy" selling technique. The girl told me I get 3 toppings with my medium and I had to ask her, "does it come with it or do i pay extra?". This threw her off and she quietly said "you have to pay". I went ahead and just ordered the plain w. one topping-strawberry. Like the other reviews, she gave me one spoon (not even full) and attempted to spread them around the cup. I had to say something to her and she gave me anothe spoon - no charge.

Swirll - Come on now, we're trying our best to support your business because the yogurt is fabulous but you cant keep doing this. Its bad for business and you'll definitely loose customers. I will come back but I hope things will change around here. I usually dont get fuss about things but this stuff is not cheap.

MY REVIEW: I absolutely love swirll...

BUT...like the review above saud be ready to pay an arm and a leg....

Although the older lady is sweet, they are REALLY stingy...me and a couple of friends went and my friend usally gets the small (which by the way is a lousy, small, dinky, little cup) and the content looked smaller than usual, so she asked for a little more and all the lady said to the worker was "did you weight it?" and we go there ALL the time...If they keep this up, being so NON-generous with their portions, they will certainly lose their customers...because i'll just go back to my T*CBY.

swirll if your reading this: be more generous with your portions!! stinginess will get you nowhere in life. because if it were cheap and you gave us that much then we couldn't complain..but at those prices you should be a bit more generous...I already have a friend who's boycotted swirll already, which is sad.

MY REVIEW: This yogurt is so addicting but be ready to pay and arm & a leg for a cup. Its not super sweet nor creamy..nothing like TCBY. Imagine that slight tart taste of the usual morning yogurt you eat and that's what Swirll is. One word-refreshing!The atmopshere is cute and simple. No crazy decorations to stare at, just people walking in with a confuse but anxious look on their face. On to some advise...the customer service there varies. The owner (and older lady) is very nice and knows exactly what she's doing but the younger girls tend to have to pause and think about what you're asking for. Sometimes Ive had to repeat my order many times. Ok, here is the most important thing to know. If you do not watch what you're ordering, be ready to pay about $7 for a medium size! Their selling technique is kind of sketchy. They'll ask, "Would you like to try to medium size? You get 3 toppings with that". WRONG! The toppings are an additional cost. I believe its 0.80 per topping. And if you want any other flavor besides plain, that's also and additional charge. One thing that I have noticed is that if you're a regular you'll get tons of topping. If not, you'll probably get a few berries. Ive seen this happen to many of my coworker and friends. Anyways, you're looking at $3 something plus an additional $2.40 for the fruit. Of course you didnt expect to pay that much but by the time you get to the cash register you have already put a spoonful in your mouth. The yogurt is great but just be careful with the prices. Look at the huge menu board and know exactly what you want and the price of it. If anything, pay for it first than eat it. Enjoy!
